Duo Hand Spray Set Purchased 11/23 and the larger sprayer has crumbled and broken. Rather than pay for a brand, just buy the cheapest-either way you will get disposable landfill items that won’t even last a few years. The also make the claim on… Read more
their website that it is UV stabilised for Australian conditions. I’m writing this from Australia and this item did not live up to those claims.
Follow-up · Apparently there are questions readers (AI bots) have asked about my review, without actually asking. Let me answer the bots, *Did the handle feel comfortable to use? I don’t know, that’s a ninny question “oh my hand is uncomfortable, this hose is unbearable!” *How was the spray pattern variety? It was as varied as the amount of different… Read more
poor quality – Purchased a Pope heritage 20m hose. Absolute rubbish and very poor quality as it kinks all the time, which is very frustrating when you are trying to water. I rang Pope to tell them but they didn't really care. Will never buy one again
Pope Delux Hand Sprayer from Bunnings – This was the second hand held sprayer I have tried to use. I though the first may have been a lemon, now I realise that Pope is a cheap and rubbish brand. I bought the delux pope hand sprayer from bunnings - it did not last more than a month. The sprayer was stuck open and would not turn off. Don't buy Pope.
Pope watering wand – Second faulty Pope watering wand in 12 months. Both have worked great for a while until the trigger stops shutting off. Have been well looked after. At the higher cost it is a shame the product has limited life - given normal sprayers can last for years. Wondering if others have had the same experience
Disappointed in product – I purchased pope connections & joins. They were a lot more expensive than other connectors so expected them to past. I have great water pressure & they worked for a while. Now they leak, spray out & or the hoses pop off. It's very annoyed ny so I won't bother with them again.
Hose Reel fails while near new – The factory fitted water supply Connector fell off the hose. It cannot be reassembled so had to be replaced with a hose connector The Reel continues to refuse to retract fully, and makes sounds as if it is collapsing while trying to pull hose from the Reel
Click & Go System a great idea – I purchased a Pope Click & Go Sprinkler Head and Base from Bunnings and I was impressed with the way I could change the sprinkler heads to suit my needs. I ended buying every different type of head Pope make. It’s a great idea. I also like that these products were all made in Taiwan and not made in a country controlled by a cruel regime who rule by repression and engage in foreign interference and subversion of my own country.
$200 wasted on non working pope hose/gun – Purchased 30 m retractable hose and gun. Gun lasted 2 days! Hose does not retract. Pope offered to send spare parts but didn’t. Disabled students wanted to retract hose instead of tripping on it.
Great communication and help support – After purchasing a faulty sprinkler but not keeping the receipt, I emailed pope direct and they were so helpful offered to swap it out after a few discussions they ended up replacing it with a new upgrade one posted free of charge.
Pope Ezy Run Timer – Irrigation Timer was installed in home garden but does not function because water pressure is too high. Even when I turn down the tap to a trickle the water pressure on the tap side of the timer unit builds up and then the timer will not open. This resulted in $100's of box hedge dying over the Christmas break while I was away. Pope refused to… Read more
replace the unit with a working unit. Product is not fit for purpose and has caused $100's loss of plants.
Waste of money, plastic junk – Poor garden sprinklers are the BIGGEST waste of money. I have spent literally hundreds and hundreds of dollars, reinstalling, re-fixing, and searching for reasons why my sprinkler system works for the first a month and then suddenly stopped working. Garden dies. Complete plastic junk!!! Ripoff
Best hand held wand for watering hanging plants – Other watering wands we tried just leaked everywhere, poor connections and limited watering options. Got the Pope and were so impressed with range of spray options, including low or high volume water output, we immediately bought another. We are both horticulturists, so have been using various products and brands for many years. This wand, with adjustable head angles and ease of use, is the best we’ve tried so far.
Pope retractable hose – Cost me $150 at Bunnings approx 15 months ago. Hose split inside cover. Poor quality. Can’t return cause no receipt.

micro control hand spray – Pope products in the past were good quality .They are now cheap and nasty Chinese rubbish. The "shower" setting on this piece of junk cant be used to water pot plants ie its supposed function. On this setting the holes at the top shoot out a concentrated jet removing soil and blasting the plants while the rest spray water so widely that most… Read more
doesn't hit the pot at all. How hard is it to punch holes into plastic ? I would be happy to pay a lot more for something made properly out of decent materials . I used this once and binned it. After many years using Pope products I won't be doing so in the future.
Spent a fortune on almost entire range and it's rubbish – When we did a big renovation of our pool area and front cottage garden, we were excited to buy loads of luscious plants... And since we both work a lot, we thought it best that we installed an irrigation system with timers. The guy at Bunnings recommended Pope. We bought 75m of 13mm hose, two tap timers (single and double) and countless… Read more
accessories to go with it, in order to water our gardens.
Right from the start there were issues. The main hose is not flexible. It is bought rolled into a big coil, and when we unraveled it, it kept twisting and turning and rolling over, instead of laying flat. It only 'behaved' when it was rolled up. It was a nightmare to lay it along our pool garden bed, even using stakes to hold it in place.
Then, when we pierced the holes for the sprinklers, the hole puncher isn't even the right size for the attachments it's supposed to be designed for. So we had to fiddle around, punching two holes next to each other, kneeling in the dirt, getting hot and sweaty and cursing these stupid little fittings... Every fifth one snapped off anyway.
Finally we had the whole system setup, but when we turned it on, half the sprinklers were facing backwards or down. We took such great care to make sure they were all the right way... But probably because the hose is fairly rigid, and also fighting against being straight (because it wants to curl), that as we were wrestling with the hose, trying to get the sprinkler pieces in, it must have been turning a little here and there until the sprinklers were facing all over the place.
Nothing worse than spending 14 hours in a garden and you finally think you can sit back and enjoy your handiwork, when suddenly you're back on your knees, pulling out sprinklers, plugging up those holes, making new ones... And finally it worked.
Then the following weekend we planted out the garden bed next to the pool - it was along the same hose line, but came 'before' the garden bed we'd just done... Put in all the sprinklers, and then... When we turned it on, the sprinkler system we'd slaved over the previous week no longer worked!
Not to mention that the Pope timer we'd bought wasn't turning on when we'd set it for... So we threw our hands in the air and went back to manual watering for a couple of weeks because we were sick of it.
After we'd had a break, we finally got back out there to try and work out what was wrong with this system. We had to go and buy more pieces, because firstly we realised that the 'elbow' connection was severely reducing the water pressure to the second half of the garden... And then we discovered another kink in the hose.
We bought some clear tubing to slip over and stop the kinking... And when the water finally came through, we discovered the original lot of sprinklers were all over the place again.
Sigh.
We haven't even started on the front garden because the products are so useless, we don't know that it will be worth it, and now all the remaining parts are just sitting there.
Useless. Although I don't know an alternative as this is what Bunnings stocks.

Cheap and Nasty Trash at Premium prices – I thought Pope was synonymous with good quality and certainly the prices of their products reflect that. 6 months ago bought a $20 hose reel and received a box with a few bits of cheap plastic that have all warped and fallen apart already. I thought I would by the $50 hose reel and again received a box with a few bits of flimsy plastic and a… Read more
couple of bits of metal to put together. The parts would be lucky to be worth $10. Put it together and already the central spindle spindle breaks apart after 1 week and water is spurting everywhere. Have also bought several hoses and fittings up to $100 each and kink proof hoses kink constantly and fitting leak and burst and spurt water everywhere. Highly recommend avoid at all costs. Shame on Pope and shame on Bunnings for allowing these unfit for purpose products to be sold.

Everything made by Pope is cheaply made trash - avoid at all costs! – Before ever buying any Pope product, please refer to this site to see the hundreds of negative reviews. All of their products are trash. They are so cheaply made and never deliver what is advertised. They break within no time. The user interface on all of their tap timers is pathetic. Their website is always down. And to top it all off, they are… Read more
