Excellent flex - poor life – I have two of these and as hoses they were excellent. A couple of years ago they both started to develop a stickeyness to the point that they were gooey. After reading reviews here I thought to enquire the warranty and sure enough they were guaranteed for 20 years. "just take them back to where you purchased them" well there was a LOT of… Read more

pushback from a certain hardware chain but in the end they honoured the warranty and replaced them with the new model 'Pinnacle'. Moral of the story if you have these going bad contact Pope about a replacement - it seems they take the warranty seriously.

Good for couple of years – I bought this hose 6 years ago it was long, expensive and with fitted end connectors. One connector broke the first week and the business gave me a free pope connector. The hose should come with a warning to not leave it outdoors, which I do, rolled up. Now it is covered with green sticky stuff. I used gloves today to wash my car. I still managed… Read more

to get green sticky stuff on my car and my wrist. Such an expensive disappointment. I need to throw it out but can't afford a replacement.

EDIT - I've since talked to a Pope rep who worked out a replacement using the new Pope Pinnacle hose. I am very happy with the outcome. Pope stand by their 20 year guarantee.

Superflex – Super failure. I spent good money on this hose and to find out now whatever you coat it with is like a tar. I have just thrown it in the bin as this is the last time I'm am going to degrease my hands after using it. No wonder it has been discontinued it is a piece of crap. I guess the joke is on me and everyone else who brought it....you have our money.  Show details

Zero kinks, still good five years on – Apart from the connectors blowing apart the first time I used it, the replacement managed to last a good year before the connector blew. No big deal, they blow all the time. Swapped for brass connectors at both ends and it's still going strong. At 30m it's a big long hose, but it's lightweight if you coil and drain it at the same time. The main… Read more ·  1

thing is to reverse coil every other loop. This way it will pull flat without jamming up. Looking forward to another 5 years of use.

Won't buy Pope again – After owning many hoses pope included, and being frustrated with the fittings blowing off or failing, I decided to dig deeper into the pockets and purchase a crimped hose with a longer warranty. After about 3 months one of the quick release started to release all by its self; this is now secured to the tap with string. (Yes I did tray attaching… Read more

it to different fittings, it's not what it is connected to that is the problem). Where did I put that receipt???

After about 6 months one of the crimped fittings blow off, so the hose is useless. I will now have to buy on of the traditional type fittings to put on my hose.

So to summarize, just stick with the traditional fittings, at least you can cut the hose back and put them back on if they blow off, better still try another manufacturer.

dont leave it in the sun – I bought this piece of hose for about $139, thinking it was the best out there. Its flexible for sure which doesn't stop it from kinking, I leave it on the back lawn for ease of use, now it has a sticky covering for the entire length. I have just read at the top of this page that this hose has been discontinued by pope. Thats the best thing they could have done, but too late for me, I will never buy another pope item ever again.  Show details

Bad – The crimped ends blew off even though it is advertised as high pressure fittings. They were a hassle to replace and I have just returned to Bunnings lismore, who were very reasonable. I liked the hose part, even though it did kink a bit, but very pricey for something that fails. Very lousy product, totally false advertising and claims.  Show details

An abomination – I bought this hose on Pope's published assertion of high kink resistance. In fact what I acquired at Bunnings for a very high price is the most kink-friendly garden hose I have ever encountered. Don't even think about the old fashioned hand over hand looping (which introduces half twists into the hose each loop)! This introduced more than 40 kinks… Read more

into my 30m hose. Do I buy an expensive hose reel to try and avoid these half twists? Or take another gamble and try a fancy product from a competitor? Or express my resentment through Fair Trading for what is blatant misleading, nay dishonest, advertising?

Pope Permaflex end connectors weak and nasty – Excellent flexible 15m hose permanent end connectors pathetic. Rang Pope (Toro), fittings cannot be reassembled, find docket and return. One broke (flew apart on disconnection) after 10 uses, other about 10 more uses. Replaced both with friction fittings (Pope) at a cost of $14. Very inconvenient, disappointing. Next time Gardena.  Show details

Don't buy!!! Price doesn't match quality – As noted on previous reviews, this hose does kink continually which is very frustrating as that's the primary reason I paid the higher price and purchased this hose. But now I am also frustrated with the poor quality plastic fittings. After approximately 6 months the fittings have fallen apart and need replacement.

Dont buy – I brought this from Bunnings and it had more kinks in it than my cheaper hose. I did all the right things eg layed the hose out in the sun for a few hours and it still had a number of kinks. I am now going back to Stratco to buy a decent hose. I also asked the salesperson (does the pope hose kink) and she said no. A load of garbage and wasted time

Superflex and kink free (Rubbish) – Superfex and kink free is absolute rubbish, I have had nothing but trouble and tried stretching and lying out in sun to remove the memory to no avail. One would presume by paying top dollar it would be better than it is and Pope need to standup and provide a better product.

Warranty on hose – I purchased the more expensive superflex hose believing that a 15 year warranty and end connections being crimped on would avoid leaking at the taps ! The hose is great but the fittings on one of the ends have failed/ fallen to bits and I had to cut one of them off to complete the job I was doing ! Bunnings have now told me that the warranty… Read more

possibly only covers the hose and now that I have cut the faulty end fitting off there is no warranty ! The hose is only 9 months old and I am very disappointed having purchased 2 of these 30 metre hoses on the recommendation of a Bunnning staff member??? Now back to a screw on fitting which I spent money to avoid???

Wrong Lengths – I cant beleive that hoses are in 15 or 30m lengths. Everyone you talk to says the same. 15 metres wont quite reach the corners of a standard house block and 30 m is a massive hose to roll out and put away. Yes i think it is a ploy to pay twice the price and end up cutting it down to make a manageable length. So they sell you almost twice what the average person needs.

What happenedto the 18m garden hose – most older house lots have a twenty metre frontage ,so 15m is useless and 30m too long is this a marketing ploy to sell more 30m hoses

Perfect fit I think not – Bought this hose hoping the workmanship and quality would be worth the expensive cost to purchase it. I Recently saw the ad on TV that clearly states the hose nozzle will not just pop off the hose yet the second time I used this hose the nozzle came off due to the metal ring (that they advertise makes them different from other hoses and prevents… Read more

the connections just coming off) clearly false advertising!!! was left with a brand new unusable hose I then had to go out and buy new connectors and spend more money!

Kink resistant my butt – I've been on a search for the perfect garden hose. This product cover proudly gives itself a 9/10 for kink resistance. This is an absolute falacy! It's made from some kind of soft rubber-like compound that flexes very easily. Yes once bent, it springs back into shape, but it bends too easily. You can actually cut of the water supply by just… Read more

squeezing it between your thumb and forefinger. So annoying when your washing your car - the hose catches on the tyres and collapses cutting off the water. Watering the garden, it actually knots up - also cutting off the water. When looping it back onto the hose holder, it twists up into knots again. It's just too soft. Are there any good points? Well it probably wouldn't go rock hard in Winter. It probably would be better suited to a hose reel, but honestly, it makes watering the garden a frustrating experience. This hose is headed for the bin. What a waste of $57!

Best Garden Hose Ever – This is the best garden hose you will buy. It is expensive compared to the others on the market but by far the best. I drive over mine nearly every day and it does not split because it is so flexible. Don't waste your money on anything else. I am in the process of replacing all of my garden hoses with this product (five to go). I have tested this hose for over a year and still want to tell the world how good it is.

Dodgy end connectors – The rotating end connector is very flimsy and just snaps off after a few uses. The hose itself is fine, but why design in such a weak link in the chain? Given it is not a standard connector and not replaceable, you have to cut it off an start again. Not good for a supposedly premium product. The hose itself is very flexible and does not kink. End connectors

Superflex hose worth paying extra for – I usually don't pay the extra to but the top of the range product, but on this occasion I did and do not regret it one bit. It is the best garden hose I have ever had. The superflex hose is 12mm hose by 30m long. I did around the same time buy the next level down hose from pope premium hose in a 15m length but do regret not it being the superflex… Read more

hose. I am considering just buying another 15m superflex hose due to it's quality. Even my 72 y.o father noticed how good the hose was. The crimped ends on the superflex don't leak or come apart, have used the hose a lot for the past 18 months. Hose does not kink despite the ambient temperature. Rate the hose 10/10. Cannot fault the super flex hose. Can seem to be expensive, but quality does come at a price.

At last! A hose that doesn't kink! – I've always struggled with hoses that kink. Once they kink, it seems they're never the same again. I'm in love with the Superflex. It's light and super flexy - which is why I bought it. The thing I noticed when I got it home was the that the fittings are sort of welded or permanently clamped onto the end of the hose - which means that the thing… Read more

doesn't leak. Magic! While it's not the cheapest hose on the market, I think it's the best! Ticks all my boxes... Flexible, non-kink & doesn't leak
