Primdog website, as difficult to navigate as their resolutions process, and expect variability in product quality – I'd never heard of this site, but it came up while searching for dog goggles for my blind whippet. Infact the search link took me straight to their dog sunglasses page, a page that I could not find any way to navigate to using their website. Without over egging the pudding here, the the website is genuinely naff and difficult to navigate. There is no search function. There is no menu showing you all the different categories of stuff. The show all link shows some 115 products, none of which were the dog sunglasses. There are 6 category links at the bottom of the page, but there are more categories given that the sunglasses were in the "dog clothing" group however there is no way to directly pull up that group.
Primdog basically sells all the most likely popular 'tatt' for dogs, plus a few special items, all at seemingly reasonable prices. Based on my experience with the dog goggles, they are probably a TEMU reseller so still making a margin.
Anyway, given that the goggles were on sale and my cautious progress showed that the item would be delivered within a relatively short time (some of these drop shipping sites don't promise delivery times and so you could be waiting months), and that Primdog had an internet foot print suggesting they were legit, I progressed with the purchase.
So in regards to the product, the goggles are the ski mask style and the optical goggle part itself is not bad quality to be completely honest, even if it is a knock off. The harness however was substandard, It was made up of a stretchy elastic material with some plastic clips, however some of the straps were made up of leftovers sown together end to end. The ends of the straps in the adjustment loop were rough cut and the available adjustment was almost nil. I actually bought two goggles, one medium and one small and the small was actually quite good - with single piece straps, centrally located clips and a good amount of adjustment. It clearly indicated what the medium should have been.
On the medium, one of the bottom straps was not adjustable at all which left the cross over partly up the side of the jaw rather than being able to be adjusted directly under the jaw. The main clip that closes behind the dogs head and holds the goggles on, should have been able to be centred in the middle of the head, but is actually skewed and sits right on the ear. The way the harness sat was uncomfortable and annoying for my dog and he refused to wear the goggles. My dog's measurements were right in the middle of the range that they said medium was good for so if other mediums are of a similar quality and build, it will almost certainly not fit a dog who is at the top of this range, or it will be a very tight uncomfortable and annoying fit.
When I wrote to Primdog to say that there was a fault with the product, which included pictures of the faults, I was referred to their returns FAQ which states that it is the owner's responsibility to return faulty goods back at their own cost and once Primdog has reviewed the product, they'll determine whether the return was warranted. Replacement doesn't seem like an option they'd consider as in my case they ignored all discussion of a replacement and offered me a partial refund instead in order to have a "happy customer". They also said that I could "keep the item as a gift". This is the kind of language I have seen from eBay shops that are reselling asian sourced products. The language in Primdog's emails wasn't as obviously as Asian English as some of the eBay sellers I've come across, but the sentiment and resemblance is unmistakable.
Credit where credit is due though, they did reply promptly.
I still have half a mind to make a complaint to SA Consumer Affairs as Primdog don't appear to be complying with Australian Consumer law in regards to faulty products/returns... but I'm here instead.
So buyer beware. They are legit but if there's a quality problem with the purchased item, you will most likely be left holding the bag.
