I need to name [Name Removed] from Shorex on Princess.  Ukrainian guy.  This man is chasing women on board and he is manipulating with each and every of them every contract. Crew are talking about him as they can see him every contract hand in hand with another women every time.  Imagine these women with their boyfriends in India,  Philippines, … Read more

Ukraine,  Thailand,  Italy,  Chile,  South Africa...  His excuse: it is a choice and what happen onboard stays onboard.  I am glad I can inform you on this predator as he broke many hearts of women and used them, and st^pid Princess is protecting him just because he is careless with his behaviour. That is the example of 21 century man.  I know this guy and even saw his pictures online as these women made pictures of him and posted online.  Passengers,  be aware when you are taking papers from his hands as he does not like to wash hands after having s*x with women.  Be aware will you trust this guy when he offers you excursions and smiles to you.  PREDATOR WHO SHOULD LOSE HIS JOB AND GO BACK TO UKRAINE!

I won't travel with Princess Cruise lines again – We travelled from Hong kong to Sydney - and almost missed the ship because Princess cruise lines advised us, and our Travel agent, that the ship departed from the Ocean Cruise Terminal. Fortunately, we had booked a transfer from our hotel and were surprised when we found that the cruise actually departed from the new Kai Tak terminal. Great… Read more

information from the Cruise line - and that standarfd of service continued. We had occasion to seek assistance from Passenger services - but all we got was cover up and blame shifting. Not one person was prepared to offer a concrete suggestion towards solving our dining arrangements. All tyhey did was defend company policy. Our cabin was good and the steward was terrific. the food in Regency was excellent as was the service. The food in the Horizon buffet outlet was like a mining camp kitchen. Overcooked, sometimes stale and quite often rude staff.

Drinks were absolutely outrageously priced as were two of the specialty dining options. try dining in the Steakhouse - pay $35 per head and then not have access to steak on the menu unless you're prepared to pay and additional sum.

Entertainment is boring - with most musicians having a four or five day repertoire - and then the cycle starts again. On a 19 night cruise the repetition became very tedious. Disembarking for a shore excursion was a nightmare when tenders were required. It took up to three hours to get people off the ship - and our tour for which we paid $130 ea was cut short and we missed out on the shopping excursion we had planned on. Overall - a very tired old ship that rewarded us with overpowering sewage smells almost every night - so bad that on one occasion we had to leave our cabin in the middle of the night and go up on the deck to get some fresh air.

Thankfully we were not novice cruisers and know that other cruise lines are far superior to princess - even with its' antiquated social caste system they use to reward travellers.

Sewer smell and rust – The Sun Princess is a disgusting piece of junk. It should have been retired years ago. When we first got on, the food was obviously made from the leftovers of the previous cruise, although it did improve as the days went by. Throughout the cruise, there was a sewer smell coming through the air conditioning, which you could not escape from for the… Read more

entire cruise. It was disgusting. Other passengers I spoke to complained of their toilets overflowing onto the carpet in their rooms. Frequently the public toilets were out of order. The beds sagged. The ship was awfully rusty and obviously not maintained (photo attached). I caught a mild tummy bug, an eye infection and an ear infection at different stages when onboard. Others had a bad flu. It was a NZ cruise and when we got back to Sydney, I heard fellow passengers saying, "What a relief to be home." The places we visited were lovely, but the ship was awful. Even though the staff were good, I'll never go Princess again. Come back new? How about Princess starts with its own ships.

Fantastic all round – The trip was wonderful. The only negative for us was the prices of alcoholic drinks. The staff were incredibly efficient and friendly and more than willing to oblige with any request. Couldn't fault them. Particular praise must go to Franky Panca and Elvison Silva (drink waiters in 'Crooners' and Mauro Monteza (?) and Indra Budi (in Regency Restaurant). They were all incredible. Show details

Wonderful – Everything from checking in at the Departure point to leaving this ship was very professional in every way. Rooms were clean & the bed was so comfy. The food was amazing - so many choices & different everyday. First class entertainment too.

Stinks, overcrowded and bad food couldn't get worse – When we booked, the ship was scheduled to depart from Ocean terminal Hong kong, however our friends were told different, they were told Kai tak cruise terminal hong kong, so I rang princess Sydney to be told they didnt know, so I emailed my travel agent who replied with an excerpt from his enquiry from princess which assured him the ship departed… Read more

from Ocean terminal....so we booked accommodation pre cruise at the ocean terminal Marco Polo hotel.... but no the ship actually docked at Kai tak ... we even checked the Princess cruise personaliser the evening prior to departure to confirm it was Ocean terminal.. Many passengers were caught out and were seen at the ocean terminal waiting ..... next, first night, shower drain blocked and bathroom flooded, and bedroom flooded.... safe did not work after numerous attempts to get it to work... Fail gave up, Foul smell of sewage flooded the room, from the aircon and from the outside... room was unliveable, after numerous staff attended to confirm the stink, nothing happened, complaint after complaint, to no avail, arranged meeting with hotel general manager, who agreed it was an issue and he and his staff were aware of it but ship was full and could not move us. Others on the cruise were also in same problem. We arranged another meeting for 2 days hence to see if the problem had improved. Prior to our second meeting, we knew of other passengers who had decided to disembark in Bali due to the foul smell, so they requested there passports be returned, prior to arriving at Bale, only to be told that they could not get passports until after the ship departed Bali, tried to explain that they were leaving in Bali but the conversation just went around in circles about not getting passports back till the ship departed Bali... during the second meeting with the hotel general manager, this issue was brought up as well as the ongoing foul smell, and the passenger was assured their passports would be returned to them when the ship arrived in Bali, showing ONLY an arrival Stamp and they would then be able to depart by air with out problem, but when they got their passports, they were stamped with both an arrival and departure stamp, even though they were departing the ship and staying in Bali awaiting there flight to depart.... YES they encountered problems departing Bali at Indonesian Immigration. further we were told by loud speaker on the ship that the ship would be late departing Bali due to problems with immigration issues.... left 4 hrs late. and yes our cabin still stank, so did deck 7 port side fwd, the wheelhouse bar on deck 7 copped a lot of the smell, when passengers exited to the deck in this area, the smell came right on in. We arranged an appointment with the ships doctor to discuss possible effects of this constant exposure with the sewerage smell, we were told that the fumes were not toxic, however we may experience side effect, like irritated eyes, sore throat, head aches, runny nose and even fluid on the lungs, however there was nothing the doctor could do until these symptoms arose and then she would treat them at OUR cost.. We decided to depart the ship in Darwin. The Ships general Manager offered us nickel and dime bribes, like free meals, free wine, free canaps , toiletries from the sap, bur we refused all, as this was not going to fix the issues.. the fouls smell... In the mean time in an attempt to get away from the smell, I took the opportunity to undertake some acupuncture , first appointment was at 4.30 for a 50 min session, went in a little late around 4.45 had the needles inserted and was then forgotten till 7.00 pm, yes 7.00, I tried to get attention but no one came was assured this was not going to be ongoing, so made another appointment next day, got in promptly, had needles inserted and was told that the acupuncturist had to leave me to undertake a seminar, I was extremely hesitant but agreed, yes he was back on time and in a rush as he was late for another booking. Quickly took out the needles and told me to get dressed and go, I did this and went back to the SMELLY room ... shortly after arriving back, the phone rang and the acupuncturist told me to check my buttock area as he thinks he forgot to remove some needles.. My wife took a look and found Yes, he had, so removed the remaining needle. We requested assistance to depart the ship in Darwin as i was to be a 1 day stop for the ship, so the customer services manager assured us all would be ok and he arranged for our luggage to be taken ashore. He also insisted that he would arrange for a car to collect us at the dock at 10.00 am to take us to the airport. We agreed but assisted we pay, he said, that Princess would pay as it was the least they could do for the issues we had encountered, so we disembarked at Darwin and waited on the dock from 10.00 to 11.00 , no car .... so we jumped a taxi to the airport....

Got home and tried to pass on this information to Princess so they could lift their game.... well good luck. No one in Sydney cares... directed us to the US... on calling the US were told that the ream that dealt with these issues were busy, could I call back... I did, to be told the team that dealt with these issues were gone for the day. So I tried again to get some one in Sydney to listen or at least care... but NO just the company line, that no one here can help , you need to send my complaint to Princess in the US and that the reply may take 4 to 6 weeks to be addressed... Customer service at its best..... We have now cancelled our Princess cruise next year to Iceland.. and will make sure we spread the word and we will never use Carnival EVER AGAIN....

Retire this ship – 10 night cruise Sydney to North Queensland. Due to plumbling problems, had to use public facilities on the ship for the first four days. Sun Princess - only for the rich now – Travelled on Sun Princess in Jan 2018 to NZ and was happy with it and therefore travelled on the same ship in Jan 2019 to Fiji. Big mistake. Apparently the changes to the menu occurred a month earlier. An example - cheapest bottle of wine last year was $28; this year the cheapest bottle available is $42. A massive rip-off and not something which… Read more

your average cruiser can afford. This is in addition to the removal of the daily happy hour they had the year before which was a great place to meet people. Sun Princess apparently got refurbished mid 2018 but the lifts are still a mess and most people give up and just end up using the stairs. Oh; and I’m still waiting for the pending $100 which was charged to my card for reasons unbeknown to me, to be removed so that I can access my own money. 3 weeks and counting thus far.. On a positive note - food in the restaurants was still completely awesome!! Would’ve been nice to be able to enjoy a wine with it lol. Hopefully the Sun Princess can return to what it was before.

Rain, rain & more rain – We left Sydney in glorious sunshine at an early 3.30pm for a 13 night cruise around NZ. Boarding was easy and efficient. The overall condition of the ship was good, older but perfectly acceptable and no way near the condition some online reviews indicated. Our cabin was clean, comfortable and a little cramped. It had the typical creaky wardrobe… Read more

which I managed to stop by jamming the ship service directory between the wardrobe and wall mounted fold down bed. We stopped at 6 ports and cruised around Fiordland for a day which was brilliant. It rained at all ports except 2 and rained pretty much the rest of the time- no fault of the ship/cruiseline. This did not really affect our enjoyment of the cruise. We have tried 3 other cruise lines and this unfortunately was the worst for food we have tried so far. The choice of food in the Horizon buffet was very limited and the lunch and breakfast options changed little each day - this became monotonous very quickly and the food did not look appetising. There was a buffet line each side of the ship but they served the same food. The main dining room was better, but personally I found the dish selection again uninspiring with a lot of seafood dishes and not many meat options on the menu. I like seafood but my wife does not and I could see her point of view. The ships aircon seemed to make the ship warm, then cool, then warm again all the time. The shows were of a good standard, with a variety of acts. Entertainment during the day was good but not as good a Royal Caribbean, need less teeth whitening and more games. I thought the drinks prices for cocktails was high and the amount of alcohol in each drink was not generous- I tried a few and some just seemed like sweet fruit cordial. The staff were generally great and hard working. However, like other cruise lines the eastern European staff were arrogant ( especially the girl selling drinks in the Regency Dining Room) and need a couple of weeks back in charm/customer service/hospitality school, not whining about how hard she worked- we know they all work really hard. Their attitude to customer service needs to improve or they should go home. All the passengers we met had a good time, but with similar opinions and we arrived back in Sydney to glorious sunshine.

Not for disabled people – So where do I begin, I have MS, I'm in a wheelchair 80% of my time the other I use a walker to walk/ shuffle which is difficult. I decided to book a cruise with my daughter and me on the Sun Princess 8 nights leaving and returning to Fremantle as this was easiest for me. We were so looking forward to it- I booked thru Clean Cruising and had… Read more

several conversations with them and Sun princess regarding my disability and what I required, No step, even down to the point of measuring the distance between the door frame to the bathroom to make sure my walker would fit thru, they did advise there was a tiny hob into the shower which I have at home so was not a concern. They even talked me out of a disabled room because it was two decks lower and had no fresh air and was next to the Casino, they guaranteed the room they booked me would be suitable!

So after months of waiting the day finally arrived, we boarded the ship made our way to our cabin so excited opened the door to find the room was so small I could not get past the bed to use the balcony and worst of all the bathroom had a huge STEP to get into OMG I can't use the bathroom!! So upset we take a deep breath I have to back out of the room into the hallway and find a disabled toilet as its been hours we finally find one and the toilet is normal height if not a lower toilet with a handrail WOW could not believe my eyes I had to go so I had to fall back into the toilet and getting off was so difficult not disabled friendly at all , we decided we needed to regroup and go talk about what we where going to do, the ship was not leaving for another three hours. We found the lifts, so slow I mean waiting 5mins even longer then abled body people pushing us out of the way, they could take the stairs! finally, we found the floor where they were serving lunch, grabbed a sandwich and sat down and talked about what we were going to do. I could not use the bathroom in our cabin, the disabled toilets on the whole ship are all the same, the only disabled friendly eating area was the one we were in, can it get any worse? I decided we had to leave the Sun Princess- we spoke to one of the officers, she came to our room and totally agreed it was NOT suitable and also advised the whole ship is not disabled friendly, that the same things were happening to a couple a few doors up. Distraught we left the ship and watched it sail out of the harbor whilst waiting for my son to return and pick us up. No apology from Sun Princess cruise as apparently, I agreed to the step into the bathroom- are they serious, really I would agree to a step when I can't lift my feet off the floor. they would not refund my money! Clean Cruising had to refund my money and try to get it out of Princess Cruises. At the end of the day, we are but numbers and I believe no care for peoples circumstances are taken into consideration.

Titanic's in better shape – We have cruised many times with many cruise lines from the opulent to the mediocre we are very easy going and not hard to please but even we have out limits. Our cruise to NZ was a birthday milestone celebration and we saved hard to make it happen now we wish we had have saved a bit more and gone on another ship.- What a total disappointment.… Read more

The food the first week on in the Horizon was fresh but three days before we were to disembark the quality went downhill rapidly. It tasted like leftovers revamped.

As for the daily entertainment we had – 1.Paper plane competition -2.Teeth whitening -3. Bridge card game - 4. Hair straightening how to stop your hair frizzing – Yep- the excitement went on.- OMG- I was so bored I wanted to throw myself overboard.

The toilets both public and cabin had non-stop problems passengers had an issue with either their toilet or their cabin including flooding. Then it was our turn to have a toilet disaster - Our toilet over flowed just before 8am having just woken up were like a deer in a headlight we were both not with it panicking trying desperately to stop the water overflowing but all to no avail, the water was cascading over the step like a waterfall .

We quickly rang the pursers desk ran up and down the corridor in my Pyjamas looking for staff but the floor was deserted. Eventually some passengers come out to see me running around in my pjs, disgusted they kindly went to get help as well. Two phone calls later the steward finally shows up with a small cloth the size of a face flannel to mop up the water the the poor steward had a look of horror when he saw how bad the flooding actually was. We had to walk back into the room walk through the septic water to throw some clothes over Pyjamas go down stairs to the atrium where the front desk was. We must have looked a sight unwashed, bed hair and totally confused.

I walked up to the Pursers desk told her our room was flooded and what will we do now? She just glared at me like I was totally inconveniencing her and said ` We are working on it`. Offended by her dismissive attitude I asked to speak to the her superior she said abruptly ` Go sit over there somewhere buy a coffee and wait the manager is busy.` We waited for hour and half before I walked back up to the desk and asked if we had been forgotten. The manager came out clearly on defence with her fake smile informed us she is aware of the problem I pointed out that we had out Pyjamas still on that we needed to shower and change. Reluctantly she went away came back with two Temporary cruise cards to go and shower in an EMPTY cabin BUT we can NOT sleep there we were to go back to our own cabins that evening. When we tried to explain how saturated our carpet was and why can’t we use the temporary room if its empty she said ` I don’t want to move you as its only two days till you disembark. They will make a decision later and someone will find us and let us know.

2.30 still walking around with our shower bag and pjs in a bag we went back to our old cabin to assess the situation the carpet was still totally saturated the musty smell was overpowering the carpet dryer was deafening and it was obvious that it was going to take a few days to dry it out properly. The water had seeped into the room next door as well.

We went back to the purser’s desk ` Can we PLEASE change rooms? Sorry the manager is in a meeting I can’t make that decision you will have to come back at 5pm. I was ready to explode, I said ` R U Kidding? You have an empty cabin yet you want us to go back to a room that is clearly a Health Hazard do you understand it is Septic Water from the bloody toilet? It’s bad enough we had to walk through it in bare feet then breath in , Now you want us to sleep in in as well. ` Her reply` madam you will have to come back for the managers decision` - She did NOT care less and could make it more apparent.

So the Temporary card they gave us were useless they kept being rejected due to NO number. So our id had to be confirmed before we could purchase a drink. Very embarrassing in front of other passengers to say the least.

Finally after 9 hours of angst they finally decided to let us use the empty cabin. We had to go back to our old cabin and pack our suit cases and unpack them again in the new room.

So its now 5pm . The room hadn’t been cleaned since we showered in the morning so cold soggy towels is all we had to dry ourselves. We were so exhausted we showered sat on the end of bed demoralized broke down and sobbed. - The manager had a bottle of wine sent to our room but it was a shallow token gesture too little too late.

The way we were both treated is inexcusable; We can both honestly say that we have NEVER been treated with such contempt. The abrupt, dismissive and condescending attitude in which we were both treated made us feel like the Irish on the Titanic. Having cruised many times we are both members of the Loyalty points Captains Circle. One would ask ` Where is the loyalty and respect shown to the passengers?

This has not been a relaxing trip we were both too scared to use our toilet so we would have to go to a public toilet to avoid any more embarrassment which is unforgivable. I have Multiple sclerosis and all the stress took its toll and I have relapsed; this was supposed to be a 60th birthday celebration what a disappointment.

We cannot speak highly enough of the cabin stewards and the drink waiters who work hard long underpaid days they are worth their weight in gold. - This is more than I can say for the arrogant European front desk staff who have a severe superiority complex with a disgusting lack of people skills who abruptly talk down to the passengers with utter contempt as we were to find out first hand.

This ship would serve tourism far better as a dive wreck than a cruise liner. It is now well past it – We travelled from Singapore to Fremantle. The air conditioner in our balcony stateroom was so noisy it made sleeping difficult. It can not be turned off and the controller was falling off the wall held only by a couple of wires. Food was good and so were the staff / crew. The toilet kept blocking and overflowing making the bathroom a slimy… Read more

mess. Despite calling the maintenance plumber 6 times in our 13 day cruise they never fixed the toilet to resolve the issue. You would think that after the first time it was blocked and the issues this cruise line has had with novovirus it would be rectified and an apology but oh no. We had to repeatedly call them back.

The wardrobe door hinges were broken making it difficult to shut the doors.

The main area cafe on deck 14 used for preparing and serving breakfast, lunch and diner smelt of mould. It didn't get any better throughout the trip.

Areas of the ship smelt like sewerage for the complete trip.

The ship is looking worse for wear and tear and the rust is just continually being painted over. A cruise liner should not be painted while passengers are on board as the smell permeates the ship.

The balcony for our cabin has such a badly uneven floor that they have put a clip together plastic floor mat over the damage. Unfortunately when you walk on it the floor is so uneven that the plastic mat unclips and becomes a trip hazard.

The cruise came nowhere near our expectations and before spend hard earned money again we will be researching to find out who owns the next liner we travel on.

The Sun Princess needs to "Come Back New" – We booked a 13 night New Zealand cruise from Sydney in March. All processes leading up to our departure went well as did the embarkation even although it had been delayed by a few hours due to complete sanitisation of the ship due to a recent Norovirus outbreak. I had read previous reviews of the Sun Princess but felt it best to wait and judge… Read more

first hand. Unfortunately the previous comments proved to be true. That the ship is very tired, badly needing a refurbishment and has nauseating smells of sewage in various areas of the ship are all true in our experience. The crew was fantastic in managing to work in what must be quite difficult conditions. Lifts kept breaking down, at least one of the tenders leaked badly through the windows, and others reported problems with water coming out onto the carpet of their stateroom. I submitted the online report which is emailed by Princess on our return, giving a full run down of the problems as well as the positive points. I had expected some follow up but when there was none I decided to email the customer relations department in their Head Office in Sydney. It would appear that none of the feedback has been reaching them re the sewage smell etc . I was frustrated to hear that they were glad I had brought "the plumbing issues to their attention". I have so far been unable to have the reassurance that the problems will have been fixed for future passengers. All I have been told is that the issues are passed on to the relevant department. The same problems, going by other reviews, have been evident since perhaps as far back as early last year. This is very disappointing for a major cruise line as passengers have a choice of other cruise lines in the future. Having been on the Golden Princess on our last cruise this was not the standard we were expecting on another Princess ship.

1st time cruise, can't wait for the next 1 – We did the Brisbane to Great Barrier reef 2017. We booked thru Figtree Travel, and it was great. All of our expectations where meet and went beyond. Beyond our expectations – After booking our 13 night New Zealand cruise I read comments from many disgruntled people and thought that we may have made a terrible mistake. minutes. The interior cabin was roomy enough for the two of us. A window would have been nice but we didn't feel claustrophobic. We did have a look at a balcony cabin which would have been wonderful and it may be worth looking for specials. I don't think it's worth paying double the price but if you get the chance it would add to the cruising experience to hear the ocean and to know what the weather is doing before emerging from your cabin. There is a camera on the bridge which you can watch on your cabin TV which gives you some contact with the outside world.

The food was a highlight. Always beautifully presented, replenished regularly and so much variety. We enjoyed the 24 hour cafe for a nice relaxed breakfast and coffee. The buffet for lunch and the dining room for our evening meals. There are many options and everyone is well catered for. We ended up joining diners in the Marquis Dining Room which has set times for arrival (5.30 and 7.30 for dinner). Here you have the same dinner guests and waiters which made it a more intimate experience, but others may prefer the choice of the buffet food or using the Regency Dining Room where you can choose to share a table with new friends or dine at a table for two.

All the crew were wonderful and made every passenger feel special. The waiters quickly became familiar with preferences and special requirements and the cabin steward was unobtrusive, able to make our room look like it did the first day we moved in. Chocolates at night and a second freshening up while we were at dinner was really appreciated.

We enjoyed the entertainment on board, the cruise band being a highlight. We had great weather and loved the cruise through Milford Sound and the Fiordland. The shore days were a great way to get a taste of NZ. The only issue was on the two embarkations that required a tender. If you didn't get tickets you could be waiting several hours to get off the ship and there was also quite a queue to get back on board. Perhaps extra tenders would have sped up the process and given people more time on land.

As first time cruisers we didn't know whether or not to book the shore excursions through Princess. My advice would be to book longer all-day tours with them if you are concerned about not getting back in time. Otherwise there are plenty of options once you get off the ship, much cheaper.

Overall, a fantastic holiday with a wonderful crew. We have some great memories.

expected from Princess. They really know how to feed their cruisers. Far above the standard you will get on just about any other cruise line.

This time we found that the service standards of the bar and waiting staff to be well below what we experienced on our last cruise on the Dawn Princess. Many of the staff really seemed to be just "going through the motions". At one stage I had an ice bucket dumped beside the table and the bottle of wine simply left on the table!

Food service in the restaurant was acceptable but again, compared to our last cruise the staff lacked personality and didn't seem overly happy to be there. Our cabin steward was the one exception and he was absolutely amazing!

Entertainment... well what can I say. Boring to say the least most of the time. Had a couple of great evening shows, but if you want any sort of interesting activities during the day forget it! Activities are very much aimed at the older "bingo and trivia" crowd, unless you are into listening to cat howlers trying to sing karaoke. Needless to say we spent a lot of time resting, watching movies and at the pool. Not a bad way to spend the day.

The ports were a good selection, but be prepared to spend your life savings on the cost of shore tours, if you are silly enough to book on the ship. We purchased from onshore companies and had the same experiences and tours for less than a quarter of the cost.

Overall, this is not a negative review. Just an honest and factual impression based upon our previous experiences with Princess. We prefer Princess above other lines and you can usually count on a wonderful experience when you sail with them. Even though some parts of the cruise were lacklustre, we had some great down time and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. We came back rested and chomping at the bit to organise our next one.

11 day cruise to PNG – My wife and I booked our first ever cruise with Sun Princess to Papua New Guinea, I read all the reviews about a week before we sailed but we went anyway.. lol We found EVERYTHING to be first rate.. excellent in fact ! The food was to die for, we have never eaten such wonderfully prepared and presented food in our lives. The staff were very… Read more

attentive and obliging .. nothing was a bother.

The inside cabin we booked because it was cheaper turned out to be a real surprise ..

I don't sleep well as a rule but because it had no windows we found we could sleep in in the mornings in this nice dark room.

The BEDS ..OMG the beds were to die for.. lovely soft mattresses and feather down pillows !

Room service was amazing.. go up for breakfast and when you came back your bed was made and the cabin was cleaned... fresh towels etc.

Evening meal time they came in and turned down the beds and left a chocolate.

No trouble with blocked toilets etc as others have found on their cruises.

All the lifts worked, all the time.

(I do appreciate the bad reviews they gave and I also would have left same but on this trip everything was just perfect )

Ok that's the pros ..now for the cons.

We were surprised the ship didn't have any money changing facilities and had to rely on money changers coming aboard.. they changed To Kinas but not the other way around so I'm stuck with PNG cash now.

Things to take with you..

All of your daily meds / sunblock / insect spray / headache pills / antacids / diastop in case you get a tummy bug and laxatives in case you don't (don't think you won't need these as the change of diet will affect "regularity")

None of these things were for sale on board that I could see.

Oh make sure you take out some medical insurance as the cost of a doctor on board is horrendous.

All in all a big WELL DONE Princess lines. (and the Flight Centre for making the booking process so easy)

Amazing staff – My friend and I had just boarded the ship, when she became very ill. The staff responded quickly and after the medical staff checked her out, she was soon placed in an ambulance on her way to a Brisbane hospital. The security staff looked after me while I waited for family. I cannot speak highly enough of the kindness and efficiency of the crew and staff. Thankyou Princess from the bottom of my heart.

Extremely dissapointed – We have been booked on Sun Princess since March 2016 in a balcony cabin yesterday we were offered an ocean view cabin plus a discount. I have reached ruby level and my companion has platinum if we had wanted an ocean view we would have booked it in the first place. If this is the best they can do we will not be cruising with princess again. Needless to say we declined the offer.

Never again – Ship far too old many people on board became ill with gastro virus myself included. Walking down the passage ways to cabins the smell was disgusting, food not up to other princess ships. This ship needs to be taken out of service. New Zealand cruise February 2017.

This was the worst ship – January 2017, toilet would block up 4 times a day took hours to fix, so I ended up getting the virius toilet blocked they knew I was sick took 5 hours to unblock the toilet so I had to sit in the shower in my own filth. Rang up to complain they did not care same all the same if you know what I mean. The bar staff were rude you would get a drink… Read more

and they would throw the straw down next to it. It cost four hundred dollars to see the doctor when we asked about comp they said no way. They are like talking to a bunch off philli telemarkerters I had to get a wheel chair off the ship when the zapped my cruise card the ship person yelled out he is sick get rid of him how rude 0 stars for me new guinea was nice and the people lovely but the ship crap and I and a chef and the food was the worst I have had on 7 cruises I have been I asked for a stake and I got a thin piece of sliced beef. Avoid this ship like the plague. I hope Jan Swartz president of princess cruises reads these reviews.

The most disgusting cruise ship we have been on – Booked a disabled ròom which was not accessible by wheelchair.. had a rounded pole in the door entry. Disabled seating at the theatre was non exhistant - not regulated by staff. Wheelchairs had to go over very high access to go onto the decks if they could get there at all. Complaints were ignored by Guest Services. Very old tired ship. Cabin… Read more

and restaurant staff were exceptional but complaints were ignored and disabled people were left to sink or swim..

Destination was fantastic ship was crap.

We c wouldnt recommend anyonecto sail with Princess Cruise lines as management ignores complaints and issues.

Disappointed after previous cruise – Very disappointed with our cruise to South East Asia and return to Fremantle in Nov /Dec 2015. We had cruised with Princess before on Sea Princess to New Zealand, excellent. Our South East Asia on Sun Princess was very under whelming. Ship was so dated. A large number of problems on this cruise made us complain on our Customer service survey… Read more

sent to us after cruise, but we did not even get a reply on this. We may never use the Princess Line again we were so disappointed, and we had previously been looking at taking a half world cruise with them, Sydney to Dover. Will try another line. Everyone that we had contact with on that cruise was disappointed and some had sailed on many cruises and said that that was the worst cruise.

Princess - Losing the Magic ?? – We traveled on Sun Princess earlier this year , not long after a refurb had been carried out. We sailed from Fremantle to Brisbane via the top of Australia. We have cruised many times & always found Princess to be one of the better cruise lines. However , we found the on board experience underwhelming compared to other cruises. We look forward to… Read more

daytime activities on board & generally there are lots of options. This cruise we struggled to find something to do. I don't consider an AA meeting something that would be considered a general activity.Maybe Princess are cutting back on staff as lots of activities were "unhosted". Banter with the cruise staff is half the fun !

Entertainment was down in standard. One comedian/magician performed the same 2 shows , word for word ,we had seen a year earlier on Sea Princess.Only 3 production shows in 15 nights. No theme nights. On a brighter note , the food was excellent. The ship seemed in good condition although its the first time I seen buckets put out to catch water leaking through the ceiling on the main thoroughfare on Deck 7.The bed was just wonderful.

The selection of movies available in cabin was also very good. {We watched lots of movies to make up for lack of activities} The staff in general were pleasant though some seemed disinterested.Interaction with staff can be so important to the overall enjoyment of a cruise. The onboard credit that Princess offers is amazing compared to other cruise lines. Though no fault of Princess, average age of passengers would have been late Seventies.

Have paid future cruise deposit , will try a larger ship to see if there is more to do.

Princess Cruises rip off trusting customers – They were happy to sell us a cruise and then before we left Visa requirement changed and we no longer had to pay but princess cruise decided to Cash in on the Aussie advantage and keep the $25 entry fees to Indonesia as a process fee to get free entry. Absolutely disgusted and will never cruise again!! Will be letting others know too. Cruise may seem cheap and good idea but once onboard watch how much is extra and over priced.

wow fantastic – we sailed on pacific jewel last year and that was bloody shocking ,but people were saying you need to try princess cruises out before you say you would never cruise again . so we booked to go on sun princess to singapoore 23 feb ,we got there and the boarding was chaos ,so i thought here we go again ,but that was the only drama we had ,the ship… Read more

was in good condition yes there was some rusty bits but its sailing on the ocean so what do you expect . the staff was fantastic always friendy we never felt like we were intruding on there cruise (pacfic jewel we were made to feel like we were intruding on there cruise) the food was unbelievable both horizon and the grill were great there was prawns ,steak, fish ,ribs ,etc and as advertise there was no extra charges unlike p and o which charge at the grill ..we had the drink package which was excellant and a couple of times we were charged for drinks so we called past the service desk and told them and they took the charged drinks off the bill with out question so no issue there ,the shows were great so i was told ,i am not a fan of shows so i sat out on main deck and watch movies under the stars and the staff did come around with free popcorn .we had a inside cabin which was always cleaned to a high standard in fact the whole ship was spotless ,so the difference between p and o and princess is massive yet they owned by the same company so i could never sail with p and o again ,princess cruises you have really got this cruising and looking after the guests so right

What a waste of money – I cruised the Sun Princess 4 January till 8 January out of Fremantle to Albany. We payed thousands of for the owers suite. The first day we were to cruise at 5pm but was cancelled till the next day till 7am. We were not contacted about the boat not leaving till the next day. We slept in our cabin while the boat was tied to the wharf. The food was ordinary, paint fumes while in our cabin. I will never cruise with them again.

Elite Review – Oct 28 on Sun Princess 7 nights to south pacific. I booked this at a whim it was only $799. I'm elite with princess and I love reading the reviews. Sewer smells broken furniture, laundry out of order, stains on sheet, blocked toilets, inedible food, terrible service I can go on and on. Anyway I didn't experience any of the above. We flew from… Read more

Melbourne 10 to 15 minutes after arriving at Brisbane, we were at Hamilton and boarded in 10 minutes got an inside cabin it was ok clean my free mini bar was already there and so were upgraded toiletries. Cabin attendant was fantastic always had ice bucket, I read reviews about no water, etc. I know you have to pay just go to bar and get tap water you not going to die.

Usual mix of passengers not too many oldies as it was going south pacific I notice oldies like New Zealand too cold for me.

We ate in dining room with 2 nice couples our age 50s from Brisbane and an old couple in their 70s who promptly disappeared after 1st night they whinged about food. I think they were used to roast lamb and 3 veg and couldn't handle any foreign muck, no great loss.

Usual Princess entertainers some lame comedian some rejects from Australian idol. I've preferred wheelhouse bar with passengers making fools of themselves doing karaoke and the band from barbados spent most night there. Pizzeria was busy for whole cruise horizon court has been renovated plenty of seating and a good layout. Foods the same on all Princess ship but good quality. Can't understand why 70-year-old plus men find it necessary to have a coughing fit in front of buffet and I might add they are always rude to staff hope I don't turn out like that.

Staff are fantastic Filipino and Indonesian and a couple of Indians/Italian officers who sometimes drive the ship when they're not too busy trying to seduce the English dancers.

Usual sales of worthless watches/rings/hanbags and was fun watching passengers buying as many as they could I might add same passengers were buying chains by the metre as well. Most of them had a tattoo on their right shoulder. Drinks are same as a pub in Melbourne 6.95 for a stubby 32 dollars for a bottle of pino grigio I reckon they pay 2 or 3 dollars a bottle for it. We did noumea vila and isle de pins I don't mind any of them had a fantastic lunch at chilli restaurant in port vila.

Anyway don't stress too much about some of the negative reviews it's an enjoyable holiday.

Very enjoyable - friendly fellow cruisers and excellent staff – Sun Princess October 25th Brisbane to Fremantle. Because of novo virus on ship coming from New Zealand embarkation was 1 hour later than planned, but we were informed several days earlier so no problem. Embarkation smooth and efficient. First 4 days, every surface, and I mean every surface was cleaned as had happened, we were told by deck… Read more

attendants, for the previous 10 days. Not allowed to serve ourselves in Horizon for 4 days but plenty of staff to compensate. Even though we heard of a few accidents and a heart attack (the average age of cruisers must have been 70 years+)!!! No sickness on board so better than usual.

We had seen several of the shows on the Alaska cruise in 2014 and New Zealand 2013 which was disappointing but the comics and other personalities were an acceptable alternative.

We joined our dining table companions on the first night and again were extremely lucky to be able to enjoy each evening in their company served by an excellent waiter and wine waiter when nothing was too much trouble.

We were blessed with beautiful weather, sailaways were spectacular accompanied by Cherry Blossoms and piña coladas!
