Squeaky Screen Door – The screen door seems to work quite well, except that it develops a loud squeak particularly in hot weather. Problem is that it doesn't appear that hinge pin can be removed to give it a good grease. Worst part is that I wrote to them seeking advice on best lubricant and how to apply but no response. I think it is called customer support?

Gate D-Latches rust – They advertise their latches as "designed not to rust" but then use steel for the rivet which will rust. The rust then stains the powder coating on the posts and fence which will eventually peel off in large flakes. Bought 3 of these latches and every one of them has rusted and caused damage. Show details

Expected delivery time – Estimated delivery time for five standard fence panels and one gate was three to four weeks. I will be lucky to receive the order within eighr weeks. Purchased through Bunnings. Never again. Eight weeks have now passed and not even an ETA given despite requests.

Don't think they care much for customer service – In the middle of trying to order pool fencing from these guys via bunnings. Bunnings are great but the response from these guys is atrocious. Seriously having 2nd thoughts and thinking about cancelling the order

Not quite as advertised – Purchased components to build an Easy Screen louver panel. Supposed to be friction fit, where slats fit firmly into end rails. Not even close to a tight fit. Basically fell apart trying to move into place. Ended up riveting together, but was much harder than led to believe. Tried emailing for advice, but no reply.

A good product porrly executed – We purchased some made to measure aluminium louvres from Bunnings, expecting the set out to account for the custom size. On installing the louvres we realised that the louvre fixing resulted in a gap of 30mm top and bottom. After recutting the rails and packing the already in place opening we ended up with what we aere after. This is a good… Read more

product let down by poor execution and little attention to detail. The end caps for the louvres fit poorly and require silicon to hold them in place. The control arm is impossible to fit once lourvres are in place (trial an error to get it installed) and no cover for bottom rail means it fills with water each time it rains. Customer service is pretty unhelpful and all in all if I was the oprinal founder of this product I would be very sad with what is produced. I do recommend this though as, if you are preparred to make some modifications and apply some commonsense you end up with a good set of well priced louvres. Not perfect but not bad either. To the owner (if they ever read these).. a little attention to detail would go a long way ot making a good product great.

Protector make it easy make it secure adjustable security door, all grill – Cost was $314 from bunnings noosa. Took me around five hours, bit of stuffing around finding by gear, could do the next one a lot faster tho. Seems like fairly good quality door. Everything is working fine. I’ve hung doors before tho so I’m not new to this, recon it could be hard for some newbez. Shame if I ever need to replace the mozy mesh, will… Read more ·  1

have to pull the door apart again because the external frame just covers the rubber strip that holds the mesh in place. My door frame is 826mm x 2055, standard door these days. Door could be a little cheaper I think cause you can have one made and installed by gjames for $500

Deceitful company with faulty product – I fitted a protector triple lock door. The top lock remained partially engaged when unlocked. Phoned and told the receptionist. She behaved like the issue was unique and told me someone would call me ASAP. They never did. Didn’t matter because I worked out the problem 10 minutes after getting off the phone. Just so happens I was an Industrial… Read more

Designer for 20 years. The manufacturing tolerance is crap, and the top lock just needed repotisioning and then redrilling and screwing in place. The products should be recalled because of this defect. They would know it. As an industrial designer I worked for a deceitful company like this once. I resigned pretty quickly. Shameful business practice.

Good idea - shame about the execution! – We purchased a Protector Aluminium adjustable Barrier (screen) door because we don't have a standard door size. An adjustable kit seemed like the perfect solution, especially at less than half the price of a custom door which was our only alternative. Based on our experience it would appear Protector Aluminium doesn't have any quality control… Read more

procedures in relation to it product(s). There were defects in the powder coating on the door frame. Protector Aluminium responded very quickly and offered to supply a replacement panel. Unfortunately it took around 3 weeks for it to be delivered (it sat with the courier company for more than a week prior to it being sent on to us) and Protector wouldn't chase the courier company up at all.

When the replacement finally arrived it also had a defect - personally I would have gone over the replacement with a fine tooth comb before I sent it to a customer. The defect was much less noticeable than our original so we proceeded to put the door together which is when we discovered our kit did not contain all the "supplied" screws.

The written instructions were not the best - we are pretty handy and we struggled with following some steps.

The door when installed looks good and we can use it however the locking mechanism/housing supplied also seems to be faulty and required a lot of refinement on our part to get it to work at all and, even with that effort, the internal locking snib is very stiff to operate. Again Protector Aluminium responded quickly and sent a new lock however they did not send the housing component which seems to be the issue. I just can't be bothered chasing them again. It is a great idea for those of us with non-standard doors but the execution is unfortunately pretty poor.

Needs improvements and would not buy at all – Prior to and after purchase I watched the online video on how to install the gate, it appeared simple. We purchased the 'All Rings' gate off the shelf, the gate measures 975mm x 1750mm you can purchase different size posts to suit the gate, that allows the gate to both hang off a flanged post (bolted to concrete) and posts that are set in… Read more

concrete. All at different post sizes. We purchased the 1600mm flanged posts the largest flanged posts available off the shelf. Both the sales rep and I thought it was strange that the flanged posts were 150mm shorter than the gate and 250mm shorter now that Protector has advised that the gate should have 100mm clearance from the ground. After contacting Protector they now recommend 1900mm flanged posts to be made especially for use. Using that theory the 2100mm non flanged post would have just 200mm set in the concrete.

The video on line shows the gate being installed with flanged posts higher than the gate I ask why would you show an install of off the shelf gate and have to have the posts specially made?

This modular system has the chance of being an excellent system however it lacks though, instructions and suitable documentation advising customers what selection of hardware to use.

I've been back to the Hardware store for a special order of the 1900mm Flanged posts @ 195 for 2. I also found some documentation on fences where the company suggests that the non flanged posts are cemented in 600mm, which still doesn't register when they recommend 1900mm flanged posts for the gate. If I was going to concrete in posts it means I'd need 2400mm posts.

we had the gates x 2 installed by 2 builders with 70 years experience between them, the gates were installed either side of the house, one side is sheltered the other side exposed a little and guess what, the exposed gate sounds like a fan motor with worn bearings when a little windy. on further investigation only the bottom side of the gate is welded and the bars of the all rings gate is tack welded in parts so guess what they move creating the noise like worn bearings in the wind but there is more the gate fills with water, total amateurs. I have not yet contacted the makers because they can't answer questions.

have found the cause of the noise the bars are made of too thin of material along with the spot welds. The bars flex in the wind and create a noise

A product that looks good but is made of cheap materials do yourself a favour spend a little more and get a product made better

I fitted a fixed doo on 15 minutes however the back was a smaller frame. What a joke. Couldnt get through the metal, srews wouldnt hold as there were no pre eqisting fittings Throw it away
