Terrible – I purchased through this online site after much consideration, a Canon 50D Body on April 29, 2010. What changed my mind about this online shop is that it’s based in NSW and that they have an ABN and an ACN. While I have no problem with products coming from HK as almost everything that I have purchased online for past so many years are from… Read more
HK, it was a big mistake purchasing from this online shop.
When I was about to register the camera for an extended 5-year warranty I noticed something odd, the sticker on the body with the serial number is starting to come off. This made me suspicious so I compared it to my other Canon camera that I purchased from Georges Camera in Sydney and found out some irregularities. The sticker is a lot different on the Canon 50D. The symbols on the sticker are different and the writings are flat and not raised on the 50D. Also, the 450D has a 10 digit serial number while the 50D only has 7.
I investigated and found out that all Canon DSLR’s have a 10-digit serial number on the body regardless of the model. Also, the same 10-digit number can be found in all the photos you take with the camera that can be viewed in the Exif data of each photo. True enough when I checked it out, the Exif data of my photos have a 10-digit serial number.
I rang Canon Australia and they verified that all Canon DSLR’s have 10-digit serial numbers and that this is the same in the Exif data.
I informed Quickshop and sent them an email with my findings complete with photos and screen dumps of the Exif data. I spoke to [name censored]. I think he’s a partner of the company. This was just last Monday May 17. The day after they emailed me and told me that I can either have refund or they will send me a replacement. No explanations at all as to why they sent me refurbished 50d while they advertised it as new. I had to ring and ask [name censored] why this happened. He just told me that it’s the fault of their warehouse in HK.
[name censored] assured me that once he gets the camera back I will get my refund credited back to my account. I sent the camera against the advise of my workmate. She reckons I should have the money back first before I send back the refurbished camera. A courier picked up the camera and all he gave me was a small barcode on Wed. I even emailed [name censored] to tell him that the camera was picked up.
I rang him the following day to ask if he received the camera at 11am. He said he just got it and just give him 30 mins and that I’ll get my money back.
At 3:30 I rang him and his staff told me that he’s in a meeting. I sent him an email following up the money. Then I get an email response saying that I will get my refund in “due course”. The day before he told me that I would get it as soon as I return the camera.
I rang immediately and a girl told me he’s left for the day. But sometimes he comes back. I even asked the girl what time they close and she told me that they close at 5:30.
I was so scared at this time as they already have the refurbished camera and all I got was a strip of bar code. I also did not get an email response asking him why suddenly the refund will take longer when he assured me before it was instant.
I rang at around 4:30 and spoke to a staff named [name censored]. I asked him if I could speak to [name censored]. He came back on the phone after a few mins and told me that [name censored] said I will get my refund in due course and to stop ringing them.
I couldn’t believe what I heard. I told him that he can’t tell his customers not to ring them. I even asked if he’s telling me that or if [name censored] told him that to tell me. He said “[name censored] pretty much told me to tell you to stop ringing us and you’ll get your money back”. I told him to tell [name censored] to ring me at 9 am tomorrow or I will report you to Fair Trading.
I think that did it. Less than 10 mins after I get an email from [name censored] saying that he money has been refunded to my account and that he doesn’t understand what my frustration is about.
I will not bother dealing with this dodgy people. I also did not bother reporting them to Fair Trading as I don’t want to waste my time anymore. These people are scums of the earth. They try to pass off their products as NEW whereas they are really selling refurbished goods. What’s worse is that they blame people from HK. I bet they know all about it. Who knows how many people have bought from them not knowing they are holding on to refurbished items.
Spread the word. Don’t buy from these scums. If you want proof message me and I will send you photos of the alleged NEW Canon 50d.
I have now received my money refunded to my credit card accounts. But the stress I received from dealing with this company and trying to get my money back won’t even pay for medication for the brain cells that I damaged talking to these unprofessional scums.
Beware! Don’t Buy from them! NOTHING! DODGY AND UNPROFESSIONAL! BEWARE! DODGY! Sold me a REFURBISHED CANON 50D but advertised as NEW
Terrible – The store Website I'm talking about is/ was run by none other than Webnet Pty Ltd. and Damien Camilleri. Surprise another website and another scam by the same person. I purchased an EEE PC and had endless problems. After hours and hours of frustration the offending computer was returned as a warranty claim. A cash refund was declined and the… Read more
company kept the laptop never to be heard from again.
They have stolen a computer to the valye of $750 and kept my money.
If any one can give contact details, I have a really good baseball bat with E-tech-direct written on it. None Never used them I think the store is related to a simmilar store called E-Tech-Direct.COM
OK – Although communication wasn't good, the camera DID arrive. It was only about 1 week late but felt longer mainly due to my lack of patience. Overall, if they can improve communication they wuld have a VERY competitive business. I have ordered again from them & if all goes well will continue to use them. Prices very good. Large choice. Contact was a bit difficult. Delay in delivery.
Excellent – i was pretty happy with Quickshop, i have bought with them previously, (when damien was the owner) but now i have purchased with them since the sale of the site and am happy to say all went well. very impressed with my item. i recommend them to anyone Good customer service, happy to answer my questions over the phone when i called, good quality product and sufficient delivery time website not really user friendly
OK – Quikshop became insolvent early October with the majority of orders in that month not being supplied. During this month communication by quikshop was poor due to the difficulties they were having etc and all customers were extremely upset and thought they had lost their money. Damien finally started communications apologetic of what had happened… Read more
and advised that he will sell quikshop and will refund all orders. Damien stuck to hes word and I was refunded my full order today, a week after Damien called to say that he has sold quiklshop and asked for my bank details. Quickshops new owners have guaranteed a full refunds to all customers with outstanding orders. They are relaunching their new and improved site on 1st December '08 with an aim to become a premier online shopping site in Australia. I hope they have learnt from Damiens experience and will continue to offer great deals with guaranteed deliveries and good communication as was the case prior to Australia's currency collapsing. Wish them the best of luck. Under new management Will have to wait and see after they relaunch in December '08
Terrible – We have purchased a camera and not received anything. No communication from them after we have sent countless emails and phone messages. Phone calls go straight to voicemail. We have lodged a complaint with Dept. Of Fair Trading. I recommend others stung by these frauds do the same. Money gone - 3 weeks chasing camera with no contact. The… Read more
company is registered as being Webnet Pty. Ltd. Looks like $500 gone. Stay away from Quikshop and Webnet Pty Ltd!
Terrible – I want my f**king camera. This is so unfair, first time I ever buy something large online and im jipped. Never buy off this site, its the kind of thing you see on TV it actually does happen. Good grief Absolutely no customer service, why can't I log into my account? So dodgy - not to be trusted, phone goes straight to message bank.
Terrible – I am extremely upset about the service. I now just want my goods or my money back. I recommend avoiding Quikshop. Easy to navigate website Cannot access my account. As yet, still no response to my email. Phone constantly goes straight to message bank. Nothing has arrived. Unable to access delivery status via website link they have provided.
Terrible – I also ordered a camera on the 29/10/08 and didn't receive it. I have reported these guys to the ACCC scamwatch site http://www.scamwatch.gov.au/content/index.phtml/tag/reportascam#h2_160 adn have attempted to report them as frauds to the local police as suggested by that site, but the police found this forum and suggested we follow the process… Read more
outlined in the post below from "unknown" on 2/11/08. Now I didn't get the attached letter as suggested in that post, so it's possible it was sent as another auto response to a complaint and so could be a continuation of the con. However, I will attempt ( yet again) to contact Damien Camilleri of Quikshop, but if I don't get a valid response from a human, I will go back to the police.
to rezaf your website link in your post doesn't work Appears to be cheap and have stock not usually available in Aus Takes you money & doesn't deliver
Terrible – As the website is still taking orders this is nothing more than fraudulent and deceptive conduct. Do not place any orders with them under any circumstances. Also had no delivery of camera costing $330. Looks like they have gone under so have little hope of getting my money back. I have lodged a complaint with Dept of Fair Trading and also Paypal.
Terrible – I am going to post the letter that they sent out to all people with orders. It the biggest load of bullshit. I encourage everybody that has been ripped off by these people, no matter how much to still complain to the office of fair trading if they where genuine they would shut down there website but the still have it up and running ripping every… Read more
poor person off it's a disgrace A current affair and today tonight should be notified. They received $2600.00 of us and all of a sudden the aussie dollar went bust well give the fuc_ing money back. Or more then likely you have spent it. Don't feel pity for such sc_m The office of fair trading should investigate, shut down the website and have these people charged. If I was to take $2600 off someone with no intention of sending an item or giving them a refund where would I be thats right behind bars. Don't beleive a bullshit word they say. MUST READ THIS THATS EXACTLY IT CONS
Excellent – I bought the Sony A300 camera. I can't comment on warranty service and so on, since I have only just received my camera and it works fine. However, I have been impressed with Quikshop's prices and good service - at least compared to other online stores. Low prices - very nearly the lowest I could find anywhere, and postage rates were also very… Read more
competitive. Postage was fairly fast considering the camera was in low stock - took 12 days to get from Hong Kong to Canberra. Phone service - I spoke to a real person, and they told me (correctly) that my camera would be leaving the warehouse that afternoon, and I should receive it 3 days later. Credit card surcharge was a bit higher than I was expecting.
Terrible – I bought Nokia 6110 Navigator. I was promised it would have Australian maps loaded, and 12 months warranty. However, when I contacted Quikshop later after 6 months for the Au map (It only had Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane, hongkong, KL & Singapore) that had not been loaded, the management would not honour the warranty and was arrogant and rude. … Read more
Quikshop told me it was too late because the phone is over 6 months, besides it was cheap so I should buy Au map from Route66. On presenting the issue of warranty and Au map promised, the management was rude and not interested in listening to me.
On contacting Consumer Affairs in NSW, Quikshop advised them that maps were not included in the phone - clearly a lie. I was advised to take the case to the Tribunal. This is what I am now preparing to do. Product delivered promptly
Not too expensive After sales service is extremely poor
Warranty not honoured and very rude
Told lies to the NSW Consumer Affairs

Excellent – I purchased a BlackJack phone which unfortunately had the wrong frequency specified on the website, I used it for 3 weeks and Damien still gave me a full refund (he even paid shipping and didn't ask for a restocking fee). Very impressed with that kind of service, most online retailers would say "too bad." I will not hesitate to shop there again.… Read more
Excellent service, good price, trustworthy retailer Mistake was made on product info page, in fairness to the retailer it was only fine print of a frequency spec 2100Mhz rather than 850Mhz.
