I recently booked a trip to Australia’s Red Centre with Narissa from the Mount Gambier RAA Office. Her knowledge and advice while doing so were top tier. I recommend Narissa to anyone looking for a travel agent who knows her stuff and who really listens to what her clients want.

We used Vanessa at RAA Travel at Tea Tree Plaza, SA, and she was amazing. She created an incredible itinerary for South Island New Zealand that blew us away. Never could have come up with something as good by ourself! Highly recommended!!

Gingerbread cottages Westbury tasmania – Booked a self drive bed and breakfast 2 week holiday. We stayed at some delightful places; however check your itinerary very carefully and research where you are booked in. Our first 2 nights and last 1 night in Hobart was booked in an extremely small room, called petite double which basically was a room with a bed and small ensuite. I contacted the cottage and asked if possible to upgrade to another room which the owner was happy to do for a small charge. $90 extra for 3 nights; worth it as the original room was only suitable for 1 person. No room for suitcases even. The B and B was certainly historic, very clean and in the heart of Hobart. We were booked in a B and B in Westbury called Gingerbread Cottages, this was a disgusting, dirty, dusty place. Tried to contact owner first night and left message but no return phone call as I had not left number. However on check in mobile number was given. Contacted the next day and explained how we had to clean, everything and damp dust, remove filthy doilies. We received a sorry but nothing else the proprietor offered to dust we told her not to bother as we had spent 1 hour cleaning. Tv so old only 4 channels, bed uncomfortable, lounge nearly unusable. Raa were understanding of our complaint however and tried to intervene on our behalf for a refund. I wanted to leave and book in elsewhere but of course this would have added to our expenses. No results from our complaint. In fact the owner lied and said she dusted while we were out which did not happen ! I have asked for the Raa to put gingerbread cottages on their non preferred list. The other places were great but this place ruined part of our trip for us. Do your research !

Terrible experience with RAA Travel – I usually arrange my own flights accommodation and even cruises, but I decided to leave it up to the professionals as I needed quite a few flights including a cruise. Our first agent was wonderful, but from then on it went downhill. I believe there have been a total of 4 travel agents looking after our booking. I would think that there must be some internal issue if over the space of 12 months 4 people have left RAA Travel . I also don’t even know after all this time what RAA store I have been dealing with as this has been kept from me. I wasn’t even allowed to attend to collect my travel documents. The documents have finally arrived 8 days prior to us leaving and when I opened the envelope there wasn’t even a thankyou letter sent with them, just a basic print out of the cruise and flights!!!!! No travel booklet or wallet or anything!!! Nothing advising what to do if there needs to be amendments to flights etc etc….. I have spoken to various supervisors over the time as the last travel agent I have been assigned, I couldn’t even understand. I wasn’t even offered another agent to handle my travel arrangements. I have never dealt with an organisation with such poor customer service. This is our retirement trip of a lifetime seeing family before they get older, and unfortunately it has been very stressful. Total lack of Communication and I have had to follow them up constantly as return phone calls were non existent !!! It's interesting that there isn't any online way of communication if you have feedback! eg email that I could find. I will never be recommending or using RAA Travel ever again.

No communication makes planning difficult – Recently spent an hour at West Lakes with a consultant and explained in detail dates and requirements needed. First itinerary came which completely ignored the requirements. This was followed up with an apology and a new itinerary but still not what was discussed. Zero contact since 27/11. I guess our business isn't wanted!
