Installed asymmetric tyres the wrong way around, the label saying “Outside” is on the inside sidewall of all 4 tyres.

Bought 4 new tyres and an alignment. 10 months later noticed that the inside edges of the front tyres worn to the ply. No wear on rear tyres. RAC response - its not their problem. Complete lack of competence on installer and lack of ownership from RAC

I thought the problem was with the tyres and their fitting, I couldn't believe that RAC would miss simple things such as balancing etc. and hoped the vibration would miraculous disappear. For over six months I've hardly driven anywhere for fear of what could be causing the problem, and have added only 2000 kms to the clock since purchasing the tyres. Today I finally had the tyres checked and the result was much worse than I could've imagined coming from RAC. Not only were the tyres not balanced but two of them, worth $240 each, were faulty coming from manufacturer, a problem that should have been sighted by RAC but was not. I've been told these faulty tyres cannot be fixed and the only resolve to the problem is for them to be replaced completely. I've now spent many phone calls to RAC trying to talk to anyone who can give me reassurance that the problem will be fixed, but all I'm getting is answers of 'we'll pass on your complaint and someone will investigate and contact you in the future.' When asked how long that will be, the answer is 'unable to tell you'. I received attitude from the first person I spoke to, who then placed me on hold indefinitely, and when I tried calling through a number of times after that asking to speak to someone in charge, it was claimed that it was impossible because there was no-one to speak to. They're all sitting at home and there is nobody line-managing or above them in existence. I did get a call back, which hung up as soon as I answered, and when I rang that number back, a recorded message told me I would get another phone call if it was deemed necessary. This has not happened!

RAC I WANT MY TYRES FIXED! But there is no-one I can speak to to make it happen. RAC this is far from good enough!!

positioned level and with enough clearance around. The MTM was positive, knowledgeable and explained when asked questions throughout the appointment (regarding why inability to patch tyres with nail in tyre wall). I would highly recommend.

Convenient and good service – Very convenient service, happy with tyres and friendly, polite technician. The only glitch in booking was that my suburb was unavailable; I rang as that seemed to be a mistake given I live near Fremantle. Staff had that corrected.

Avoid (wish I had) - terrible service – Seduced by the mobile service. Mistake. They brought wrong tyres with no notice. Their 'alignment' doesn't include camber, and there was no evidence it or the wheel balance was done. Follow up to query was firstly non existent and then hopelessly inadequate (and incompetent when they sent me an internal email) . Unreliable service, they cancelled my appointment 15 minutes beforehand by email – A week ago I booked an appointment for RAC to come to my home and change four tyres. I have had to take time off work and clear my schedule for this appointment between 8am-12pm. took time off for this appointment. There was no reason given in this email and when I called them, they couldn’t tell me why. A courtesy call/sms message would have been better customer service to advise of this change and organise other arrangements. It was lucky I just happened to check my emails otherwise I could’ve wasted half a day waiting for this service.

I canceled the appointment and requested a refund as I had already lost wages and wasn’t going to risk this happening again with them. This was very frustrating and upsetting losing more money.

A second email was sent to me, afterwards, advising that an employee was not attending work and that was the reason my booking was cancelled.

I wouldn’t recommend this unreliable service at all. If you want tyres changed book into a tyre store. I have done this and actually able to get a better quality tyre cheaper than the RAC.

Great service – Scott was on time and did the job quickly and in a very professional manner, he also gave me some handy tips on tyres.
