These tyres are so noisy – These tyres are so noisy. I purchased these at Bob Jane and was told that they are middle of the range and would suit my car that is used to transport clients each day. They are so noisy they make everything vibrate inside including the speakers . I come home with headaches every day. Show details
Do not buy these – One is already needing replacement with just over 10,000kms wear after buying 4 new tyres. One of the rear tyres has just got a large bubble in the sidewall and hasn't even been driven for 2 weeks as it is the spare car. Had this car 15 years and never seen a tyre do this. Not covered by warranty or anything. Do not recommend. Show details
Average and noisy but cheap – At time of writing... Almost 2 years ago I bought 4 of these tyres from Bob Jane T-Mart for my T30 Xtrail 4x4 which never leaves the asphalt. $129 each and got a 4 wheel alignment while I was at it. I didn't have the extra funds for known brands so tried these after a bit of research. They're directional treaded tyres so can only be rotated on… Read more
each side form back to front. They're noisy when new, on all road surfaces above the 80klms/hr mark but do quiet down considerably once worn (after approx. 4000 klms) They hold surprisingly well to the road surface when new, while being let down by under steer in the cornering dept. As yet I still haven't rotated them on the X-Trail and the front tyres have worn fairly evenly aside from the usual corner wearing, from being on a front wheel drive vehicle! The composite they're made of does turn hard and rigid fairly quickly too which is when they really start to lose their grip (especially on wet roads) and it's most noticeable when taking off from a full stop when they'll jump and shudder with minimal moisture. Other than these things, I can't really knock 'em for the price but I've never had cheap tyres like these before (similar priced anyway) to make a proper comparison. They got me out of a necessary situation that I could afford at the time, though I am now going to replace them with a much pricier higher quality brand tyre and leave the 2 Radars still on the rear wheels, since they've done no work, aren't worn, are no longer noisy and have not cracked or pealed or chipped etc. So aside from the initial noisiness to them, they're a good tyre for the price I suppose.
Uneven Wear – These are OK tyres, but being a budget brand I suppose you get what you pay for. Having said that, they were actually fitted to the front wheels for free by the dealer when I purchased the car, after pointing out some wear on the existing tyres. While there is still about 2mm of tread left on the middle sections of the tyres above the wear… Read more
indicators after 46,000 km, the very outsides of these tyres have scrubbed-out quite badly and probably needed replacing 7-8k km ago. This appears to be a design fault.
These tyres grip quite well in the dry but don't have as good grip in wet conditions.
They would be a sound tyre for the price if it wasn't for the uneven wear.
very good tyres – i bought 2 new tyres within the last few months, due to my mechanic saying i needed new ones whilst doing a service. they have nice grip on the road, they are durable, ive noticed the fuel efficiency in my car which has improved, ive had them before, a couple of years back, so i went with them again. Even though they’re cheap, they’re not good value – These were delivered brand new when I bought my car from a dealer. Handling is average, not too good in the wet, but not dangerous. After 10000km of on-road driving, the shoulders had worn to an illegal depth. I thought perhaps it was just the new car, being heavier than I was used to, but the Toyos I fitted next felt so much better to drive… Read more
and have now done 20000km and are not showing much wear at all.
I would not recommend Radar tyres based on my experience.
for its price you cant complain – Cheap tyre that do their job pretty decent in the dry, fairly ok in the wet. only have them on the fronts, can recommend them for daily driving. Also while these are categorized under 4wd they're more a general tyre, hense on my peugeot 206. So now for the interesting part, due to lazyiness they were on my low budget track car after only having… Read more
about 1000 street kms on them. Surprisingly the tyre handled ok, yeah sure it got greasy, especially during the middle of the day and the end of a 20 minute session but they were predictable, handled the speed, and as long you were pointing straight they pulled up a 1200kg car quiet nicely. You had to be a bit careful with weight transfer as they could push you into understear easily, and on high speed corners they did float you across the track at times but nothing to worry about.
They did their job a lot better then the older two tyres on the back even though they were better brands, I maybe wouldn't have gotten away with it if it was a warmer day.
While it was fun and got me out of my delema, they wont be on for the next meet :D still its amusing to see what cheaper can get you too... 2m:12sec eastern creek bone stock 90hp peugoet 206
Split side-wall – I decided to give these tyres a go through tyresales.com, mainly due to the buy 4 pay for 3 deal and the reviews seemed alright with the exception of the one from a semi-rural driver who stated that he blew 2 tyres in 4 months. I am a suburban driver and I had a set of these tyres fitted on Monday 11th September 2017. This morning Wednesday 13th… Read more
September 2017, less than 48 hours after fitment, my wife grazed the gutter with this tyre while parking and it split the side-wall and deflated the tyre. My wife has been grazing gutters in this car fitted with Toyo tyres for 4 years without this happening! Unfortunately, tyresales warranty does not cover what they call 'road hazard damage', which includes hitting the gutter. Extremely disappointed! Do not buy this tyre if on occasion you graze gutters at low speed.
