A disappointing and final experience after years as a trade customer I have to agree with many of the other reviews here. We were trade customers of RadioParts for many years and regularly referred business to them. Unfortunately, after a significant decline in our experience with the company, my business and my business partners have now all… Read more

decided to take our business elsewhere.

Over the past couple of years, we have noticed a noticeable decline in the quality and reliability of the products being supplied, particularly items such as networking equipment and connectors. On multiple occasions, we have had to remove and replace components that failed in service, entirely at our own expense. The resulting return visits, labour and replacement costs have run into thousands of dollars.

Our most recent experience with the West Melbourne store was particularly disappointing. We placed an order through the Store Manager after being told that he had a strong relationship with the relevant supplier and could source parts that we were unable to obtain directly. We were given assurances that the parts could be obtained, but the order then sat unresolved for months.

After months of follow-up and back-and-forth communication, we were eventually told that the parts could not be sourced after all. This was particularly frustrating because some of the items should have been relatively straightforward to obtain, and the assurances we had initially been given proved to be inaccurate.

When we subsequently requested a refund relating to a faulty product, our trade account was terminated. From our perspective, this appeared to be a punitive response to raising a legitimate product issue. We also have concerns about the way our information was subsequently handled, which we raised with the company.

We escalated our concerns to the relevant regional sales managers, but unfortunately the responses we received did little to resolve the situation or restore our confidence in the business.

We have also raised our concerns with the ACCC regarding what we believe are breaches of Australian Consumer Law. At the time of writing, we have received no meaningful resolution. For months, we also found it extremely difficult to get anyone to discuss the matter with us directly, with communication largely taking place through email.

As a result of this experience, we have advised our business partners and affected customers of the issues we encountered and have stopped recommending RadioParts.

Interestingly, moving our purchasing elsewhere has also shown us that many of the products we previously sourced from RadioParts are available from other suppliers for considerably less. For example, we found a networking tester that appeared to be the exact same product being offered elsewhere at a fraction of the RadioParts price (e.g. $299 vs $99 for exact same product). We have subsequently found similar pricing differences across a number of products.

Ultimately, what started as a very disappointing customer-service experience has pushed us to explore other suppliers, and we have found that in many cases the alternatives offer better pricing and, in our experience so far, better overall value.

After years of being a trade customer and actively referring business to RadioParts, it is extremely disappointing that this is where the relationship has ended. Businesses should value long-term trade customers and referrals, and should be willing to address legitimate concerns professionally rather than allowing situations like this to reach the point where customers simply walk away.

We won't be returning, and based on our experience, we can no longer recommend RadioParts to other businesses.

Radio Parts takes your money then ghosts you – I made an online purchase three weeks ago. Apart from the order confirmation, Radio Parts has been radio silent about dispatching the order. Follow up emails get ignored. Their communication is extremely poor to non-existent. By all indications, Radio Parts has no intention of dispatching my order. There are many good online retailers in… Read more

Australia; Radio Parts is not one of them. Their after-sales ‘service’, or lack thereof, is the worst I have experienced. Avoid them at all costs, because they have no qualms about taking your money without honouring the delivery.

Physically broken PSU on delivery - 'return it for inspection - perhaps we will replace it' – Ordered Kingray masthead amp PSU after old item had one of the terminals yanked off. $22. Unboxing the thing, one of the two screws holding the cover in place unit fell out. Inspection showed the lug inside had shattered on assembly. Intial email contact and photos 'requires a 'RMA' return and inspection by our techs and we may do something about it. Depends...' Show details

Wrong Supply – Purchased heater for a soldering iron and received two electrical joiners for a different client. Rather than just send me what I ordered they want me to take incorrect supply and arrange to get it shipped back at our cost. We are nowhere near Aussie Post so asked them to arrange return. One week later and still no correct parts and goods still waiting to be returned. Worst service I've ever dealt with, first and last order.

Excellent Service & Fast Delivery – Order a GME UHF radio. Besides the price being very sharp, the delivery was very fast also. This was my first online purchase as I would normally visit and end up buying things that I should have left in their store!!

Don't buy from Radio Parts – I purchased a Dashcam from Radioparts (online) at a cost of $78. Just over 12 months later, it stopped working Very difficult to contact the company (customer care phone number on the card in the box was wrong, online email contact never replied to). Finally spoke to someone on the phone who really didn't seem to care about helping me, product is… Read more

now discontinued and not repairable, refused to replace or refund (saying 16 months is too far out of the 12 month warranty) even though Australian Consumer Law says there is no warranty expiration on a MAJOR PROBLEM with a product that doesn't work at all. I am seeking ACCC advice - but in the meantime, my advice to you as fellow consumers - DO NOT buy from this company and get burned as I have.

DON'T RETURN CALLS - BUT HAPPY TO TAKE YOUR MONEY – I called to get advise on a phone for someone who is hard of hearing and has memory loss. I was recommended a phone that needs someone to remember to push a boost button to amplify the sound. This is hardly someone with memory loss can do. I have left 2 messages asking for a return call and have heard nothing. This leads me to believe they are happy to take your money, but not bother to follow up complaints. Poor form.

Poor customer service – Dont buy from this company, they were slow to deliver the product then when it came it was faulty. They then took two + weeks to give me an answer and then told me they wont replace it. They did me an option to post it back at my cost to see if it was there problem but this is not possible as my customer needs there product working. I had to order the product from another company as i couldn't wait. I i will not use them again.

Great deals and good service – Bought a higher end stereo system from them for 25% less than the going rate online. Happy to find a good bargain. Online cart can't calculate weight for shipping and they call you for additional shipping costs, which is a bit of a pain. My item wasn't sent for 3 days and when I called the rep was all over it and very apologetic, explained exactly… Read more

what had gone wrong and shipped the item immediately. Very good customer service. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them in the future. Happy.
