It reads on the can up to 6 months protection. More like 6 days. It kills ants when sprayed directly on them but after spraying the external window sills with this surface spray, the sugar ants were back a few days later dancing on the window sill. It hadn't rained and the window didn't get wet. I will have to try a different brand.
