No insurance because I'm above the 'BMI' – Called for life insurance telling them I have no medical problems, not on any medications especially for someone my age. have any chronic illnesses or on regular medication. So, if I was to be in a healthy range for BMI, got the life insurance and gained a significant amount of weight while under the cover, how would you find out? And will they be declined of the life insurance??

The guy on the other end of the phone couldn't give me an answer or elaborate/ explain the answer. I think if this is the case, maybe look at the bigger picture and not the number that reflects a BMI. Some of us who have a higher BMI don't all have diabetes, high blood pressure or are riddled with some chronic disease nor are we on medication that most people assume that we are on.

For a bigger and well known organisation, I'm surprised!!!

So, long story short, you need to fit the 'BMI" scale to be considered!!
