Smooth drive, excellent economy – I've recently purchased the beautiful red Megane, and am amazed with its performance so far. Had a long drive, and regular city commutes, and am enjoying the quality and smoothness of the steering. The all leather interior has loads of storages and features like keyless start, excellent climate control, light sensor rearview mirror to protect eyes… Read more
from reflections, highly comfortable and adjustable seats and headrests etc. It's probably the most roomy small car in the market, both in terms of rear seat leg space and boot size. It has 17" alloy wheels, automatic headlights and door locks. It's fuel consumption is highly economic, much cheaper than similar sized Japanese cars.
Great all round car, 2004 Megane Hatch 1.6 Manual – I bought it as a second hand in Sep. 2013 the car had 100k. After 3 year the odo meter is now 140k. It is decent European small car. Reasonable performance, comfort, good road handling and economy. It has great 5 star safety rating. Good quality overall however, power window faulty is common(regulator or motor). I had to replace both side of front… Read more
in the end of 2014. Renault had great audio tip controller and very easy to use curse control with setting speed display. Due to unique tail shape, luggage is not huge. So if you need huge luggage space it is better to check before you purchase.
an excellent car to drive – I have never owned a European car before, our last car was a Mitsubishi Magna. This car was ok but we decided to downsize, we too the Renault for a test drive and liked it, but was a little above our price range. We thought about the car overnight and decided we both liked the car, we haggled over the price and bought the car.I love the car it… Read more
is a 1.6 liter diesel engine with a 6 speed automatic gearbox, we get about 1100km to about 65 liters of fuel. The car is very comfortable to drive, and has all the mod comforts we need, after 12 months l am still finding features I didn't know we had. I had a fault light come up on the dash in the shape of a spanner, I took it to a mechanic who told me he knew about all European cars but he didn't. I took the car to a Renault dealer in Gosford and all was good after they reset my computer in the car and I only need a service every 12 months. How good is that, Regards Tony B
2008 Renault Megane 2.0 ltr – I bought one about a week and it is perfect. It has the luxurious inside (electronics) of a BMW 7 series! Really, I used to own one for years! Park control, the lot! Love the cardkey. Drives smoothly and you can feel the power when driving. Show details
Fantastic daily drive – I have owned a 2008 Megane since new, so for 6 years so far and don't intend to change for a while. No trouble whatsoever. Smooth driving, easy gear changes, enough power for freeway overtaking, small enough for easy parking, plenty of boot space, quiet running. I the six years I have owned it, I have never needed any warranty work, never… Read more
needed any mechanical work outside of the scheduled servicing, in fact has been totally reliable. MInor cons...it takes 95 or 98 fuel, my credit card style key has snapped (took 5 years to do so though), no bluetooth but car was purchased before the days of in-car bluetooth was ubiquitous anyway, generally expensive parts but sort of worth it for the quality, oil filter in awkward position so I can't do oil changes myself. Reliable, mechanically sound, easy to drive, overall a great vehicle See review. Only minor cons
Excellent – I am very happy with the drive, comfort, service and economy of the Megane Cab. My spouse drives it and feels very secure with the road handling of the vehicle. Has great safety rating, plenty of airbags, insurance is low, turning circle is so small, even for a front wheel drive vehicle. Brakes are sure and will stop you when needed. Seating is… Read more
comfortable and hugging, and there is plenty of headroom, and clear all round vision. Just goes around corners, has plenty of room - top up or down. Beautiful ride Not much, would like a little more steering wheel adjustment and would like to see Nav Sat fitted into dash.
Excellent – Love this car - we enjoyed our first one so much that we bought a second. It is a really classy european hatch. Lots of ideas from this car are starting to appear in other cars (ie the start button). The whole car design is really integrated with styling elements carried through and quality plastics used throughout. This car is not for everyone… Read more
- it is quirky; but a better offering than other french mid-sized hatches. Effortless delivery of power - good torque across the rev range, but particularly at low revs. Fantastic equipment levels - what more could you ask for: climate air, leather, cruise control and speed limiter; auto headlights and wipers, Renault card, clean hand fuel filler (F1 inspired). Great storage within the car, there is storage everywhere in this car. Looks - like it or not, at least everyone has an opinion - this is a car not an appliance! Suspension - soft, but controls car motion really well. Brakes are squeaky (however they are very strong). Not too many dealers undertake service (in Brisbane - now only 1).
Good – This car is great for driving with the top down through summer, and the top can be put up or down resonably quickly if the weather changes, which is good for us Melburnians. The 2.0 litre engine is ok, but its not really a performance engine - its best suited to cruising, which is what this type of car is made for anyway. The interior is nice… Read more
(though a little dark) and the seats are very comfortable. Well priced European cabriolet. Has good rear seat room for two, even for taller passengers. Leather can be hard to clean, so be carefull not to spill any food or drink (which can be hard with kids)
