Resene Zylone Sheen

Makes a painful job excruciating! – I'll be up front...I hate painting! But I was 'Sold' this as the best, No1, - low sheen, no VOC paint; they just forgot to tell me it was a pain in the back to use! I'm no expert painter, but I have done my fair share of painting but I think it would be easier painting with glue. I used the best rollers (two different types), I painted at different times of the day (Morn, daytime, early evening), I tried laying off a wall at a time and three tracks wide...it made no frickin difference. Basically the most expensive paint on the market - It's RUBBISH.
Save your money...Going back to Taubmans / wattyl, which we used the first time to paint the house 10yrs ago.

Awful paint – Having used zylone White paint for the first time we will never use it again. We painted a 38 square metre hallway which took over 9 litres of paint and is still not fantastic. We used a microfibre roller for the first coat and then changed to a Dacron roller, having done 3 coats and 4 with a brush to cut in it is still patchy and we haven't enough paint left to go around again. This paint was almost translucent. It wasn't cheap, but seems like the cheapest paint you could possibly buy, awful to use in contrast to the other resene paints we are currently using. If you want good coverage and a good finish then don't buy this paint !
F- for zylone sheen – As a tradesman of 25 years and trying Resene paints for the first time this product was touted to me as a top of the line, premium low sheen wall finish, it was anything but. After four coats on a new home the finish resembled a paint job that had weathered and deteriorated for 10 years. It was incredibly hard to lay off for a consistent sheen, it dried down unbelievably dry ( which is a bad thing ), it produced literally thousands of tiny bubbles all along the tops, bottoms and internal corners of the walls, it picture framed like ive never seen before and i used 30 percent more product than if I had used my usual ( and reliable ) paint supplier, Haymes Paints.

I employed a painter to paint our house. we were sold on the marketing of this paint so went with it. I found the product was amongst the dearest in its range, and amongst the worst to use. It applied very thinly and required 3 and sometimes 4 coats of paint to cover a wall. We were painting a cream wall white ! I would not recommend this product to anyone. We had a very poor and costly experience with these products. The only positive note was that it was low odour.
