Poor Service and Poor Rates – I have just spoken with two people at Resimac. The first one said his manager was not there, but then put me through when he could not answer my question. Both interrupted me to tell me what they wanted to say, and did not listen to what I was trying to ask. They were completely unhelpful. When I finally managed to ask a question, the senior… Read more

manager told me he was going to end the call and hung up.

There are much better rates elsewhere, and other mortgage providers actually give good customer service too.

Go somewhere else.

I am about to change.

Too Long Too much faffing around nearly lost sale – AVOID. I nearly went with Resimac as their rate was great and at face value they were one of the lenders still doing 95% LVR and IO repayments for investors, however, it took them 2 weeks to do the valuation and 2 weeks after that they still hadn't given me an answer, not the week after that, not the week after that, despite repeated queries via… Read more

broker and directly myself. The contract had a time limit on the finance and I nearly lost the sale, after 4 weeks I went to my bank and although they were a bit higher rate they at least turned everything around in 2 weeks. The whole process and not knowing was incredibly stressful though.

Beware – If you had a loan with RHG they sold you to RESIMAC, go refinance NOW with someone else before you lose your home to RESIMAC. Be warned: they bought your home loan they want what they paid for, they want it NOW not in 10 - 20 or 30 years time. They don't want your payments they want your home, they are doing everything they can to STEAL mine. Save your home get out now.

Beware of last minute delays – The rate offered was great but they pulled out 2 weeks before settlement although valuation happened 5-6 weeks ago. I was assured all the way through that everything was fine. If you are refinancing maybe it's alright but I would avoid as a first up home loan. A couple of people I know had similar experience recently with them.

Great Value, Fit For Purpose Loan – The Finloan product suite is very competitively priced and suits a range of client needs. The Horizon product is a professionally packaged loan with an offset account, and convenient access to cash via debit card. It suits clients who want a great value home loan, without the frills of a major bank. The customer service team are helpful, responsive and take responsibility for each client query.
