I never received this purchase. I never received an email telling me where it was or tracking details until I finally after three weeks emailed them. I still haven’t had a response. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. They make out their goods are quality and reduced but it’s all trash. Show details

Why is NZ pricing exactly same as Australia when the currency rate is 80cents to Australia? Ring is ok if only their pricing was fairer. Too expensive and it especially doesn't make any fairer when Australia is being ripped off. Show details

On Friday 13th March 2026 Ring organised me a replacement Ring Quick Release Battery Pack since the battery wasn't charging in my Ring Battery Doorbell Pro. On Monday 16th March 2026 they sent me the replacement.

Follow-up  · The new battery was better, the delivery took 2 business days and the replacement was free.

In several of my other reviews, I have mentioned that the Sale process is like dating but the Service is like the marriage. Well, my own words have come back to bite me! Several years ago, I purchased 4 RING Solar Cameras for an area of high crime. Fortunately, I never needed any footage. FYI these cameras have an enclosed SD Card but upload to… Read more

the Cloud via an annual subscription of about $150. Anyway, I moved to a different area and relocated the Cameras and they have been in place for a year or so. The cameras do not have a particularly good resolution, but seem adequate for simple areas and were probably one of the better cameras available at the time.

The other day, my neighbour across the road approached me and asked if I could look at some stored footage as he had some building materials stolen. It seemed a straightforward task, however, when I looked at that particular footage, any footage from the weekend was gone. Other cameras had footage of other events. So I called the RING number is Australia. After 5 calls of being on hold for over about 15 minutes each, I managed to speak to an overseas lady. I mentioned the missing footage to her. Her response was unfortunately typical of many helpdesks. "Do you know how to review footage ?" She asked. I responded that I had the cameras for many years and was very familiar with their operation. She then asked me to go to the calendar function and have a look. I told her I had already done that and that there was no footage for that camera, but the other cameras had footage. I could barely hear what she was saying and I commented on the people laughing and chatting in the background. She told me that they were having a party, to which I responded that I thought it was very unprofessional and suggested she move to a different location or ask the people to be quiet. Anyway, her final suggestion was that there can't have been any recordings over the weekend. I told her I had several people coming and going that weekend, so there should have been footage. Apparently for security reasons, they are unable to see actual footage, which I understand and accept, but they are able to see if there are date and time stamp entries in their logs. I asked her to to have a look. Shortly after, she hung up.

So, my conclusions are, never buy a RING product. If you are looking at Security Cameras, look at systems that have Local Storage, via some sort of Controller such as the EUFY security system. Ideally stores locally and then uploads to the Cloud.

Clearly I was disappointed and concluded that whilst RING are happy to sell you Security products but when the time arises that you really need support, they are flat out answering the phone and are unable to provide you with anything apart from very basic support. I am questioning whether I will replace the whole system that has a local storage controller and uploads to the cloud. Unfortunately this behavior seems typical of so many companies.

The products are pretty good. But Ring customer service is terrible. We bought 2 outdoor cameras with solar panel. One of the solar panels came faulty. My first call on Tue 27th Jan 13:02 was answered by a very rude person, not sure if the line went… Read more

out or if he hang up on me. Calling againg at 13:12, we are served by a very polite guy. After 49 minutes on the phone, all checked, he told us we will receive a confirmation email next day and receive the new panel in 5/7 days. One week later no email, no panel we called again just to discover the person hasn't completed the order!!!!! It's very poor service for a company with so good products.

Follow-up  · The new solar panel arrived. It was supposed to come a return label for the old one. We don't know if it didn't come, or it was accidentally thrown away. My husband called and asked them to send a new return label. The attendant told him they are not authorised to send a return label by email. When my husband was swapping the panels, he realised… Read more

We have 6 Ring Security cameras, and they are great. The Ring Warranty and Service teams are missing in action, opaque and difficult to locate and deal with. One of our recent purchases failed and we contacted Ring via their preferred App and Sydney… Read more

phone number without any great success or ease. When I requested an email address to present photos and supporting documents it was resisted in favour of a link! The link may have worked, we finally received a replacement camera, which was totally unsuitable. So, we contacted the shipping agent who were fantastic! Ring followed up eventually, but the Customer Support email address we received doesn't accept inbound communication. We still haven't received the correct replacement camera, and will avoid dealing with Ring's "Service" and "Warranty" departments at all costs!

Follow-up  · Getting an appropriate replacement camera took over four weeks. Despite sending pictures of the failed outdoor camera we were originally sent a totally inappropriate indoor camera. Frustrated with sending at least 8 emails and trying to talk with Ring, I eventually tracked down Ring's Botany NSW shipping agent. Goran at Dicker Data provided great service!

No customer care – Don’t get Ring cameras there is no aftercare service. Rang their number got through to Asia though the Rep couldn’t help. He said he would speak with Manager and call back within 30 minutes and they never called back. We may have to buy a new system as this is unworkable. Show details

Stitched up with Wired Stick Up Cams!! – I purchased 2 wired stick up cams from Ring. Both arrived as battery units (no wired power supplies). Phoned customer service and spent 25 mins trying to explain to the service rep that I hadn’t received what I ordered. Eventually he agreed to order two power supplies. A week later (within their delivery promise), no communication. Used their… Read more

customer chat bot to enquire, only to be told the items are out of stock and no delivery date known. When I asked for spare batteries in the interim (cameras both drain on battery within 12 hours), I was told I needed to speak with someone in customer service. So I called and went through the same process of explanation and request for spare batteries. The service rep spoke to their supervisor and the request for spare batteries was declined. I reiterated that they hadn’t delivered what I ordered, taken my payment, yet cannot supply what I’d paid for. I simply wanted them to provide two spare batteries so I could use the cameras continuously. The customer service rep then escalated to a more senior level of management and said I should expect a response to my case in 24-48 hours. Well 96 hours later no response from Ring. They don’t care, they take your money under false pretences and leave you without any further commitment on their part. DON’T USE RING!!!

An extremely inflexible ordering process and frustrating customer service experience – Purchased several Ring devices on sale at a 20% discount. After approximately a week, I contacted customer service for an order update and was advised 1 of the 4 devices was out of stock with no ETA for restocking. Unfortunately, Ring cannot part ship orders so the entire order was held until 1 item was to be restocked. I explored several options… Read more

with the Customer Service team including product substitution, a customer credit or part shipment, all which were not possible on Ring's end - despite my willingness for one or more of the resolutions. The only available option was to cancel the order, lose the 20% discount and reorder or (at a premium cost), or wait an undisclosed period for 1 of 4 items to be restocked. Ring would offer to price match the sale price. I will also note, at the time of writing, Ring's website still has the out of stock item available for order with no note that it is out of order / pre-order or back order. I would suggest there may be an Australia Consumer Law concern here.

After several phone calls, Ring was unable to offer a solution and the customer service team was extremely inflexible, slow and lacking in customer resolution skill. This experience has negatively impacted my perception of Ring, particularly given it is an Amazon owned company. As such, I cannot in good conscious recommend Ring products. I may have to look elsewhere for my home security setup.

Ring Billing System - Fail – I run a business and use ring cameras. I have to pay an annual subscription of $150 and Ring company will not provide my business a tax invoice in my business name. processes. When you quote Australian taxation law, they simply hang up. They do not respond to your email concerns.. best to use eufy.. they don’t charge an annual subscription like ring does. Thanks Ring team, it’s a big thumbs down for you.. if there were no stars for your service, this is what I would provide your organsation. Quite shameful really.

Ring can't work with bad customer service – I purchased the Foodlight Cam Wired Pro as I already have several ring devices. The line of devices have been OK and I haven't really had any complaints until I purchased the Foodlight Cam Wired Pro. I had some trouble connecting to my WIFI (same WIFI where all the other ring devices were connected). WIFI can at times be a bit of a black art,… Read more

so the issues with connecting can be somewhat subject and circumstantial. I'm not going to complain about the product as it pretty much does what it says on the box.

What I am going to complain about is the actual cloud side and the customer service side. Anyone that uses rings would be aware that the responsiveness of the app makes things like remotely answering someone at the door is somewhat fanciful. I imagine that most people would point to internet connection speed or mobile device, but truth is that I've never seen it work in a useable fashion. Furthermore, if it relies upon conditions as esoteric as the right astrological alignment to be useable - then it's not fit for purpose as a tool you use on the road with varying network coverage, devices and so forth. Perhaps a phone bridge may prove more reliable.

The thing that really stands out is their customer service. A couple of years ago when I first subscribed to a ring service it stood out for being excellent. I remember a couple of conversation I had with their support staff and besides being pleasant they were also helpful. While addressing my concerns, they also volunteered information about the configuration of the products, capabilities I may not be aware of, making the most of warranty and ways to bundle to save on my subscription. To add context, they seemed to have a lot of call centers around the world - I seem to recall receiving some of the best help from a call center in Egypt.

Now they stand out for their customer service being exceptionally bad, insincere, argumentative and unhelpful. Ring has a chat service available for support. Having both used chat services and know how they operate, somebody juggling 3-4 conversations at a time does not make for a good experience. In reality, you find yourself answering the same questions over and over, waiting ridiculously long times between responses and the responses being cut'n'paste from some other source (often the website itself). The problem is that when something is not clear, the person on the chat is absolutely unable to provide any insight what-so-ever. In the case you ask for an escalation, you can be waiting anywhere between 30 minutes and half an hour. As the person has often become distracted with other chats, sometimes it's like your even starting over. In this sense, Ring has all the hallmarks of an organization following tech fads for cost cutting at the expense of their customers.

Particularly when installing the "Foodlight Cam Wired Pro" I had to upgrade from a per device plan to a family plan. I was fairly sure I knew what I was getting and only contacted them because I saw a disparity between the monthly payments and the yearly one-off payments. The yearly one-off did not appear available in the self service portal. First I tried the phone number on the website and got a mobile service unavailable message, instead I tried the chat. I asked the chat if there was anything wrong with the phone service and they no and that I should contact my phone provider (which is a well known point of deflection). I began to reconfirm everything I knew about the family plan and it was not clear if my devices would be covered under the warranty. As mentioned above, this was frustrating as it was typical of any other chat experience. Due to the wait times, I actually found that the support number plastered everywhere only works in US. Buried under some level of contact links, I found an Australian support number. Considering the security steps I needed to go through to speak to an chat operator - they know I live in Australia, why couldn't they tell me about the Australian number!

When I spoke to the Australian support, I again asked for clarification about the extended device warranty. First I was told that my existing devices would not be covered, I argued that I had been told differently by previous operators (the good ones as opposed to now) and that this was in no way explained in the terms on the website. When I asked why, he said they do not cover ones that are no longer in warranty. I asked him to check and he circled back to previous statements - it was only after repeating the question 3-4 times he actually went through the warranties (long after I had looked up the warranty and purchase dates in the portal). After confirming the devices were under their original warranty, I then asked if my existing devices were covered by the extended warranty. This time I was told that because they were not installed under a family plan that they would not be covered under warranty. Again I said I had been told differently and this was not in line with the terms of the website and asked to speak to a supervisor. Of course you don't get to speak to supervisors in organizations with abysmal customer services and he said he would check about the extended warranty. He then came back and told me the devices were covered under the extended warranty.

A customer should never have the responsibility of teaching a support department about their own products. I feel there has been a real shift within Ring about customer services as a priority and the quality of the staff in customer services roles. I actually consider Ring's customer service that bad that I will not buy any more Ring products. The actual physical products would be fine if they weren't reliant on a cloud service. Considering the cloud service is not within my control and I may from time to time require support, when the support is this terrible and unreliable I can only arrive at the conclusion that the product as a whole will eventually prove unreliable when I reach a protracted frustrating impasse with their support. In summary, I think you will need their support and while it remains this terrible I suggest you do not buy Ring products.
