Purchased about a year ago and the watch itself is fine and tracks surfs pretty well most of the time though it does seem to not register some waves which is annoying. Unfortunately out of nowhere rip curl introduced an update to the app used to log… Read more

surfs which requires to pay a subscription to use it. If you’re looking for a watch to track activity this one is not worth the initial cost not to mention the sneaky app subscription fees. Buy something else.

Follow-up  · Not sure what the app subscription offers - the app constantly crashes so unable to check Can’t remember them notifying of the introduction of the subscription It will miss at least one or two waves each surf

I bought the product some years ago from a retailer, the key feature being the free log book functionality via an app on my iPhone Earlier this year, changed the app (it appears Ripcurl sold it to Apple!!) and now want a monthly / annual payment for the functionality which was part of their product To add insult to injury, the "new app" is really… Read more

clunky - my surfs no longer automatically upload, I have to upload them manually, and log out then log in to see them uploaded, with a lock of course blocking me from access MY DATA!!! Do not go near this product. Ripcurl have really damaged their brand with this. I am so angry I intend to go to the ACCC. When contacted, Ripcurl claim that in the Terms & Conditions when I bought the watch from the retailer they reserve the right to change the app at any time. There were NO terms and conditions when I bought the product from a retailer - just a watch & the key selling point of the logbook via the app. Ripcurl - you have sold your soul. Very very very disappointing

Not worth the price!! – Really average watch for the price, let's go directly to the facts: 1 - You can't leave the watch in the water, which means you'll need to leave your hand outside the water through the whole session otherwise the GPS doesn't find the location. 2 - When you "Go Surf" the GPS takes forever to find your location. 3 - I think Rip Curl would do well improving the battery life. And the longevity of the wrist bands. Show details
