Riva-Flo GPP40 Water Pump Questions & Answers
I've just installed my GP40 w/pump. Works ok connected to 2 tap outlets. When tap is opened water flows swiftly meaning pump pressure is strong, why pump wouldn't auto-stop when tap is closed? I have to manually switch off main power.
You will also need an Automatic Pump Pressure Controller that turns the pump on and off in response to water pressure ie turns the pump on when you turn on the tap, lowering the pressure, and then turns the pump off whenthe tap is turned off and full pressure is restored in the line. Some more info here: external link
Install a one way valve downstream to maintain the pressure and the pump should then stop, as then line is then pressurised. No controller needed, and a one way valve is much cheaper option then a controller.
Can i get any parts for this pump? I need an impella
i would recommend that you buy a brand new pump as the part most likely would cost more than the pump and most likely something else will go wrong with the pump you have not worth fixing.
Contact Onga Pumps directly. I purchased a seal kit from them through my local pump supplier for $45. Easy to change the seal and had to remove and replace the impellor to do this. It was a simple job with a few spanners. Check with Onga Pumps directly, and then find out who your local supplier is to purchase it through them.
How to buy spare parts?
See an Onga dealer, as they are the importers of the Riva-Flo pump.
would be cheaper to buy a new pump, thats what i did the part may cost you more than the pump.
Does anyone know where i can get a Diagram for Riva-Flo GP40 series stainless steel domestic pressure pump onga.
What are the pump flows and can it be altered
No idea on flow rates. I can run 2 garden hoses off this pump with no problems. Have mine Pimp connected to a 1000 gallon water tank, then the pump, and downstream have 3 garden taps. Have a one way valve downstream from pump, so line is always pressurised.
Had mine GPP 40 pump for 5 years now, and have not had any issues in that time.
Geoff
Thanks Geoff. I have had to take my Riva flo pump Out of the line because it had too much pressure for my Agri couplings.
when I turn the riva flo pump on it makes a whirring sound what is the problem
Sorry Roger - nowhere near enough information there to provide any sort of sensible answer. When the pump runs normally it makes a "whirring sound". I'm assuming there's something more important wrong - which you haven't mentioned - like its not turning or pumping..
It pumps water fine sounds like bearing but I don’t know if the pump has bearings
Water flow from the pump is slow. Any help?
The Riva flo GP40 is running but no water flow because of a plate inside the outlet plocking it. How can i get the plate to open? Can anybody help please!
Been over 18 months since I sold the Riva Flow GP40 pump. Sorry can't help at this time but if you phone the manufacturer , they are very helpful.
Where can I talk to someone re our pump riva-flo model DF70? We need a part.
Google your closest Onga master dealer, as Riva-Flo is and Onga product.
Don't be surprised if you can't get the parts'though, as Riva-Flo is the made in China, shipped-in models that Onga import and sell as is.
Has anyone reviewed an ozito pump?
I think the purpose of a product review is that it provides feedback on a specific product. Asking if anyone has reviewed some other product is redundant - you should just seach for that other product and not waste people's time.
No , Sorry Raj. Haven't had any experience with Ozito pumps...Sam
where you buy the spare parts for this pump..?
Hi Rohan, Contact the OEM pump manufacturer @ " external link . They make all these pumps & will tell you where & who carries the spare parts. I wrote to Pentair & lodged my complaint & they ended sending me to their local distributor here in S.A. & they agreed to have it rebuilt for free. Good luck !
Hi there I didn't buy any spares but if they are available you can check with the manufacture Rgds Michael.
I have found the Riva Flo to be very unreliable and now can't parts, I need the intake venturey tube behind the intake plate. where is the back up service for parts in New Zealand?
Simon, There are no spare parts available for this pump from a retailer, it is a throw away, and lesson learnt. The only way to keep this pump working is for it to fail during the warrenty period, then is gets replaced, A lot of people are getting caught, and I don't know how Riva-flo are getting away with it. There should be plenty of second hand parts out there, unfortunately my venturi also failed so I can't help you.
Pump has not been used for 5 months. How do I prime it?
As with any centrifugal end suction pump you fill the suction pipe and bowl with water using hose or bucket. Make sure bowl stays full and the water does not leak down past the check valve. Put plug back in bowl. Start pump for 10 sec then stop for 10 sec. Do a few times until air below check valve is removed and the unit pumps air free water. You may have to prime again and cycle on off again to get air out, but it normally works 1st time. Look on YouTube. You will find instructional video. Cheers
