Very disappointing experience. Avoid if you value support during emergencies. We were left stranded in a remote forest area in NSW with 7 people after an accident. Despite having insurance, ROLLiN’ was unable to organise even basic support like… Read more

accommodation or onward travel. We had to pay for everything ourselves.

One of the representatives actually said it was a holiday and they could not do much. That was shocking to hear when we were stuck far from help with family members.

When I explained that we needed to return to Melbourne, we were told they could only organise a hire car after we somehow made it back to Melbourne ourselves, but not from NSW to Melbourne. This made no practical sense given our situation.

In a real emergency, this insurance is of no use. The lack of support, empathy, and practical assistance is extremely disappointing.

My advice: avoid this insurer. Pay a bit more and go with a larger, more established company that can actually help when things go wrong.

Follow-up  · Got the rental car for 21 days. Roadside assistance could be an issue in remote locations if 7 people are travelling. Policy includes towing.

Rollin seriously undervalue cars, that is why they can offer a flat rate excess of $800. Great if you never have an accident but lets face it if we knew we'd never need insurance..... The maximum they insured my car for was $2500 - I paid $3500 for it the week before. Within one month of my policy, I put $1200 worth of wheels and tyres on it, the… Read more

maximum Rollin would then insure my car for was $2560. $60 extra 'payout' for $1200 worth of 'extras'. I was in the process of shopping around and then my Son had an accident. The car is considered a write off, this was literally a week after I put the new tyres and rims on. Unlike other insurance companies you DO NOT get the option of buying your car back, it is gone, along with the $1200 worth of rims and tyres that I had not made a single payment on yet. The real kicker is when they uploaded the vehicle assessment report to my online account, this report, that they commissioned some independent firm to do, shows my car's PAV - pre accident value, as $4,145, but all I am getting is $2560 less $800 excess. Beware, cheap insurance is cheap for a reason, make sure it really is suitable for you, because now I am seriously out of pocket.

We intially went with this insurance because the excess was lower for P-plate drivers but over a period of 18 months the premium has doubled and the car value has halved Show details

Awful company if you need to make a claim. They will delay and stall to wear you down. Took them two months and a complaint to IAG to even get them to respond and then they wanted to delay even more. Delay, Deny, Defend is definitely their way of doing business Show details

Don't get into accident – We initially chose this insurance for its affordability, but they continually increased the premium and decreased the coverage without any explanation. When our car was in an accident, the claims assessor was unbelievably rude and gave us an outrageously high repair quote, leading to the car being written off below market value. They also took the registration and everything else. I do not recommend this insurance company. Show details

Stupid! – A stupid insurance format - where premium may change each months, and customer has no control over it!! Are these guys for real, and equally stuipid 'FINDER' comparison website have chosen them as one of the(ir) best! The quote does not ask for details of all drivers to be insured .... Show details

So great for teens due to the low price – My daughter was looking to buy and then insure her first car. She bought a car that cost $20 000 and the quotes we got for her varied greatly, but Rollin's quote was much more reasonable. We haven't had to make a claim, but I am most impressed with the fact that they give teens a fair go. I do believe they won't insure teens if they have made an… Read more

insurance claim, but that might be why they can afford to have reasonable prices for their policies.

I didn't give 5 stars as we haven't had to make a calim but otherwise I would.

Stay away – I had been with rollin car insurance since 2020 and recently had was involved in a not at fault accident where the at fault driver was no responding to any form of trying to contact them. Rollin had written off my vehicle for the sum they had insured my car at back in 2020, but 2nd hand car values have risen significantly since, has my car value… Read more

risen?? No way.. No movement on their part at all, won't even partially repair my car so I can still use it. So now I'm out of pocket at least $2000 for a similar car and all because of someone's inability to judge distances whilst driving and a totally inflexable, incompassionate insurance company that I will not be continuing my insurance with.. Buyer beware, cheap insurance means crap insurance.
