  Elegance Slide Out

Never again! – Purchased an Elegance Slide Out from the Melbourne dealer in December 2016. The salesman was great and they did offer to make changes prior to signing the order. The van arrived but it wasn't as ordered. Long story short but the kitchen was supposed to be in gloss but i got a second rate satin finish. The doors were chipped quite badly but they… Read more

had sanded the chips and painted over. The poor workmanship in this van is like nothing i have ever seen. I am taking legal action to get what i paid for. I don't think this is the first time they have been to court.....

Head Office is no help what so ever – On many inspections we were happy with the service received from TAVan TOOWOOMBA. But dealing with head office in Melbourne leaves a lot to be desired. No help what so ever.

Roma Elegance 2010 21ft – When I bought the caravan I was very impressed with the layout and the overall finish. I am now thinking of buying but like others I am not impressed with the service in Toowoomba so I will be looking to Arrow Caravans for my next one.

This is our 2nd Roma Elegance – We had a 17'9 Elegance pop top for 10 years and couldn't fault it, but our age made us change to 22'6 with full en suite. Had a couple of hiccups but all good now. The only complaint is that the wardrobe doors can't be opened fully because of the pelmets, so they need to change the design of that.

Roma Elegance 16'6 pop top – Great layout, but all windows and doors are sealed with foam tape, after 5 years they leak like a sieve water stains every where, they should build vans to last, like the old days and use caulking instead of the quick and easy way, Very hard to resell when have have water stains, Layout, plus towed very well Timber frame, should have caulking around the windows and doors instead of cheap and easy foam tape

Bad – The van is a lovely caravan to tow, but now we have developed water leaks around A/C unit on roof. apart from abviously poor workmanship a the time of manufacture it must have been a Monday or Friday before a long weekend that it was constructed. The vans layout is great, a nice looking van the only problem is it leaks. I suppose their is the odd… Read more

lemon in the best brands. We purchased our Roma Elegance in 2007 it is a 2002 model, the layout is just what we had been looking for and the van had all the extras we were delighted to have finally found our perfect van. Our first long trip was to Perth WA for 8 weeks, we soon found dampness around the two front windows (obviously a sealing problem) on returning to Adelaide we spoke to the dealer we purchased from at Greenfield, he said easy to fix we will reseal the front windows and kept the van a couple of day, he has sealed the windows although his employee managed to get silicon and silicon hand prints all over the front of the van. Not a good look when dusty.

Roma Pinto. The mercedes of caravans – We bought a Roma Pinto. What a lovely caravan. Our 4th since 1972. By far the best of them all. In our opinion most definitely the Mercedes of caravans. But we did not take heed of the warnings about the Queensland sales agent (Toowoomba). In all our life we never experienced worse customer treatment. Once they had our money, they just could… Read more ·  2

not care less.

For example:

a. Prior to paying our deposit we were assured that the van would be available 5 weeks later on the 18th July. Well, three weeks later we received a phone call informing us that the lady co-owner forgot to ask us what colours we prefer for the van’s interior. We had to travel all the way to Toowoomba to select just that. We had to wait more than half an hour for her to be available, despite the fact that we had an appointment and were on time. Needless to say, we were not even offered a cuppa. We also discovered that the order has not been placed with Roma’s factory in Melbourne yet.

b. Eventually we were informed that the van is now available and ready to be picked up. The pick up process should take about 2 hours and would include a demonstration of the van and its abilities. We arranged to be there at 09:00 the next day. The van was in reality only ready after 14:00. Again not even an apology for the van not been washed and cleaned up. Then again they discovered that it was forgotten to inform us that they only accept a bank cheque. I had to go to the bank and arrange for the cheque. It was now running quite late. But again they discovered that they had forgotten to fix the electrical plug (coupling) that connects to the Prado. Also, they had forgotten to fix a connection to the water outlet pipe. To do this very small job took more than an hour and a half.

c. Catastrophe! They never picked our annex up at the factory in Melbourne. The owner promised us that he will bring it with the next truck that goes to Melbourne the following day. A month later we were still waiting for the annex to arrive. Once it arrived, we were told that we may come and pick it up. Another trip to Toowoomba!!! Again not even a cuppa or a word of apology. It took them nearly two hours to offload the annex (2 boxes that a child could easily have carried). Not even “Thank you”, “Good Bye” or “Travel safely”. The man just turned his back on me and walk away.

How is that for a recipe on how to run your business down in a record time? The saying goes: “Want to become a champion, surround yourself with champions.”

Tony, please take heed of this. You may regret keeping agents such is this one. They most definitely do not reflect a positive image of your lovely products. Also, buying a caravan is such an expensive investment. We are absolutely entitled to decent treatment as valued customers!

You see, when we tour with our Pinto and meet other caravanners, the question comes up: “Where did you buy this lovely van?” Just guess what our reply to that is...... Everything in the van is top quality The sales agend in QLD - Toowoomba

Happy with the van, unhappy with the service – We bought our van from a company in Queensland (the only company you can buy new Romas from in Queensland) and even though they were very helpful when we were going through the process of picking colours and designs, they failed to follow up with Roma on the progress of the van and to the point where we were wanting the van at a certain date, they… Read more ·  1

emailed Roma and notified them of that date but did not continue to follow up to see if the van would be ready and in Queensland on that date. The end was we received the van two weeks after we wanted and the day before we left for holidays. So you can imagine our first time towing a 3 t ,22ft 6 van was quite stressfull. It seems another case of once they get your money they don't want to know you. Good design, good finish on van. Nothing at this time apart from poor service from the company we bought it from. The lady owner/salesperson good do with some professionallism training.
