Everything was top notch, except being too overcrowded. Food was excellent. Entertainment was stunning. The ship was beautiful. The room was a bit too small, but it is OK we just slept there. Show details
We just completed a Trans Pacific Cruise on Anthem. The journey was Sydney to Hawaii 20 days, then fly back to Sydney. This voyage was by far the best experience we have had. We visited NZ , Tahiti, Moore & Raiatea in the French Polynesian Islands. The ship is simply incredible, we could not fault anything about the trip. If you have been thinking on doing one of these trips, don't hesitate, just do it. Well done Royal Caribbean . Show details

Just completed an 18 night cruise on the Anthem of the seas between Sydney and honolulu. My wife and I wish to thank Royal Caribbean for exceeding our expectations. We had an amazing time from start to finish. The stand outs were the people that… Read more
made our cruise effortless and comfortable from Affan keeping our room clean and tidy and always greeting us with a friendly hello each time we passed to the brilliant guys and girls in the windjammer. We tried other restaurants Jamie Oliver's being the standout with wonderland a close second. But the windjammer with Wesley supervising and the freshly cooked food, cooked right there infront of you had us hooked from pasta to stir-frys and of course crepes the guys went out of their way to make sure your expectations were met. The shows were amazing with Jason singh being the standout. Again thanks to RC and their team we had an amazing time and it won't be our last. I'll put a few pic of people that went way out of their way to make our trip one to remember, good on you Wesley your the man hahaha.
Follow-up · Still happy with our choice of cruise and still have thoughts for those on board. And Wesley i hope all is well you do an amazing job.

Not worthy of your hard earned money – This was our 6th cruise, first time on RC. Such a disappointing experience for my 25th wedding anniversary. We were on a 15 night cruise and had a creaking noise 24/7 for 13 of those nights. Didn't get any sleep. RC staff said put ear plugs in your ears or turn the TV up. Zero care factor by RC. Save your money and try another cruise liner. Show details
Average for the hyp and cost – Quantum cruise review Brisbane AU to Vancouver Ship is big 4900 guests. So it doesn’t move much in moderate sea. Internally well appointed. Externally it is showing signs of aging. Balcony Cabins are small but effectively designed. First ship with a decent sized bathroom and a shower that I could actually move in. Second leg cabin balcony was… Read more
unusable peeling paint everywhere flakes landing in morning coffee and drying clothes. The ship offers a wash and fold service in a small bag for around $US30. There are no self laundry facilities on board this ship. There are no drying facilities in the cabins. We took three meters of para cord and a dozen pegs and hand washed for the five week stretch. If you like big lineups this is the ship for you. Tender processing to and from the ship is long and generally disorganised. One day they will design a retractable pontoon that the tenders lock into to avoid unnecessary movement and safety issues. We missed a port in Tahiti and despite the captains explanation crew knew we were going to miss it. RC promote supporting communities however Maui was also taken off our itinerary, I can only imagine how beneficial a ship with five thousand people could have been to Maui after their devastating fires. South Maui is operating as usual. All the usual activities you might expect from a ship of this size plus bumper cars for kids, iFLY and flowrider is fun. Sky dome was not operational for this cruise. Windjammer buffet food choice is good. Hot choices were usually cold. Again large groups at meal times. Finding a table can be a challenge. Handwashing is compulsory before meals but not supervised stringently. Crew and particularly cabin stewarts were great and eager to help. Big shout out to Freddie from deck 8 port aft the first leg. Unfortunately the ship opted to recognise ANZAC day on ship time ( not a day ahead in AU). There also appears to be a lack of communication between areas of this ship. We canceled our dining bookings in person but still got a call most days wondering where we ate. Maintenance and cabin stewarts were unaware of each others activities. Be conscious of $US conversions as sales are often not. Loyalty points are hot and miss, went to desk three times.
No side by side rooms - even when you book a side by side room! – First page of a new booking (video) offers you to select how many rooms, and to tick a box to interconnect . Somehow they “royally” botched my booking anyway. edited to add : The food was great , the staff work very hard and the destinations and locals are lovely. ashore: At Villa we found a local to Drive around for $250 for the whole day for… Read more
our family (shore excursions are $110pp) would have cost us $500+) w went to see turtles , rock pools , a waterfall to jump from , and picture perfect snorkeling.
Overall experience from booking to completion: love the islands, love the humans , don’t love the company. Have tried different cruise lines and overall my reccomendations would be to use P&O instead. Have upgrade my rating from 1^ to 3 stars for the people, not the company.

Finally, Australia gets a five star ship to cruise on – WOW. Quantum is gorgeous. Very classy. Has something for everyone. Kids are spoilt for fun …. dodgem cars, paint skirmish, rock climbing wall, Wonderland restaurant, sky diving simulator, a huge fun parlor (half a floor of the ship). Adults have the robot cocktail makers, the North Star (elevates you 300 ft above the ship), fabulous bars and… Read more
restaurants, awesome shopping (Bvlgari, Coach, all the great shops), Chops Grill, an adults only Solarium …. so much to do. And the show …. by the ship’s singers and dancers in Two70 …. was “spectacular”. Total professionalism. As good as any l have seen (50+ cruises ….. and one had Cirque de Soleil) ….. this was better. They were amazing. Going on her again in March. Looking forward to it. Nicest ship in Australian waters.
We sailed on Anthem of the Seas to New Zealand on 1 Dec 2025 to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We paid premium fares but the dining was extremely disappointing. Meat in the Windjammer and main dining rooms was often tough or poorly prepared, I was even served brisket with large white veins or whatever it is? Inedible and gross. (photo… Read more

We had to spend extra at specialty restaurants just to enjoy decent meals. Desserts were mostly artificial, with only meringues being good. We raised complaints during the cruise and again afterward, but Royal Caribbean’s Executive Office refused any compensation.
While the ship and staff were generally good, dining is a major part of the experience, and this severely affected a milestone celebration. Previously, we had two excellent Royal Caribbean cruises, so this was very unusual.

Just returned from a 7 Nights cruise out of Brisbane to Mystery Island and Vanuatu on the Voyager of the Seas with my son. It was a drop of the hat decision but was well worth the money. good, the service brilliant and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I read some person complaining about the teas and coffee available at no charge in the buffet. The tea was Twinings and the coffee was Lavazza! If they weren't happy with the coffee they could buy alternatives at the bar or cafes. The customer service side both onboard and at the terminal was fantastic with more staff than required on embarkation at the and also disembarkation.
I've read a lot of the not so good reviews and am gobsmacked at their comments. Almost all of them are truly out of ignorance, lack of reading details and/or stupidity. An example of the customer service provided, my son signed up for the Internet on Board but then almost immediately realized it was too expensive, especially being in USD. He went to the Guest Services Desk and was immediately refunded. No drama.
This is my third cruise in some 20 years and it was by far the best. Must admit the cruise company and the company I bought the tickets from, Ozcruising Australia were excellent.
We went on the Greek Islands, Turkey and Cyprus cruise (round trip from Rome in September 2025). It was just friggin' amazing! Royal Caribbean International went over-and-above for our holiday. catering was new and creative everyday. A special shout-out to the team at the Lime and Coconut Bar on Deck 14 - Joy, Ben, Frank, and dear Marley...her Mai Tai cocktails are just the best! Such a great crew all looking out for each other and willing to share their stories with us. Honestly, these guys just made our holiday. If you're thinking about cruising and uncertain which carrier, go with Royal Caribbean. It was our second time with this gang, and we just loved it. 100/100
I’ve cruised with RCG close to 30 times with 6 more to come for 25/26 season. than helpful and eventually I get it sorted but the time it takes is considerable, but I persist as I have the time to do so.
This year I’ve initiated 3 chargebacks against RCG through my financial institution and all 3 were found in my favour.
When I cruise I document everything and take staff business cards to support my attempts to resolve onboard any issues.
My advice is to be thorough by taking photographic evidence and ask for written documentation.
RCG will try their best to negate their responsibility but good solid evidence is a good solid argument.
Refer to ACL, (Australian Consumer Law) to support your claim and don’t accept their version unless you are satisfied it is correct.
Finally, check and double check what they say with dates, times and by who as most times if not all, it is false as the staff wouldn’t know and try to bluff you.
Good luck.

Don't waste your money, horrible organisation to deal with and literally all about the money. Poor service and not worth the money they charge. Gosh and don't you ever have to make a change to your booking as they will hit you with more fees. Would pick another company and spend your money there - definitely not with Royal Caribbean.

I had to cancel my cruise due to medical condition 8 months prior to sailing out of Sydney RC advised that my deposit is non refundable . This was not clear when I made the booking considering RC will obviously on sell my cabin and pocket my deposit for doing absolutely nothing. Show details
My Experience With Royal Caribbean – Extremely Disappointing I booked a cruise on Anthem of the Seas departing for New Zealand on 27 January 2026. Unfortunately, the cruise was cancelled due to a technical issue. Royal Caribbean advised that I would receive a full refund. I paid over AU$12,000, but only AU$10,609.90 was refunded to my account. waited a week assuming the remaining balance would follow, but nothing happened.
Since then, I have contacted Royal Caribbean multiple times by phone and email to follow up on the missing AU$1,600+. Each time, I was told the refund was “fully processed” and was repeatedly asked to “check with my bank.” I contacted my bank, and they confirmed that only one refund transaction was ever received from Royal Caribbean.
When I called Royal Caribbean again, the only “solution” offered was a reference number. I asked for the matter to be escalated, but I was told there is no escalation process. When I mentioned lodging a complaint with the Ombudsman, the customer service agent told me to “go ahead if you choose to do so.”
At this point, I am frustrated and disappointed. I have no idea how to recover the missing AU$1,600+, and this has been the worst customer service experience I’ve had with any travel company. A cancelled cruise is one thing, but being left out of pocket and dismissed by customer service is completely unacceptable.

The kids club is useless!! Staff are incompetent and seem unqualified for the job. They only cater to 3 years olds that are conditioned for prison. Lights are super bright even at 7PM-10PM, one game at a time, follow in line. Ridiculous! Nothing warm or age and time appropriate for the children. because guess what they can’t handle your kids. I lost some earrings at the gym and the staff wasn’t bothered to look when I called from my room. The workers seemed forced to smile and take your money. Even booking this cruise was a nightmare with staff showing incompetence in their service. Reading from a script and not trying to meet customers needs is all I experienced with the staff. I understand it can be difficult navigating a lot of people on ship but if this isn’t your passion choose a different job. I’ve met other wonderful workers who actually knows how important customer experience. My housekeeper was the only good experience with staff on this boat.
The South Pacific Cruise starting on 27 Feb 2026. 1. The really good food menus seemed to stop in the restaurant on day 3, and after that date everything just went back to average options. 2. For 3 days we could not use our balcony due to the ship exhaust fumes. 3. Far too many people on board. Getting a 6 o'clock meal was a crowded nightmare, and… Read more
as for getting somewhere to sit as a couple was awful. 4. This ship seems to be set up to empty your bank account. Things on this ship cost money, unlike different cruise companies that include these things. Eg. Johnny Rockets sell burgers that you can custom make in the Windjammer. My advice to Australian's is stay away from cruise companies that want to use US dollars. 5. Anthem of the Seas has one of the worst elevator systems I've ever used on a ship. 6. Entertainment - very light on. The Royal Theatre should offer a show every single night, which it does not. All the good seats are reserved for priority sailors, eg. Suite cabins, Diamond class, etc. 7. Staff are great, the best part of the ship 8. Exchange advice - i strongly recommend exchanging to USD before you board this ship, or use a Wise travel card or similar. The ship will screw you on exchange rates.
My personal advice - avoid the Anthem of the Seas departing Australian waters.
Would NOT recommend Royal Caribbean for younger kids. Pretty poorly catered towards kids under three. You have to pay by the hour for kids under three to be supervised in the Tots area, which isn't a huge issue, however the evening session doesn't commence until 7pm, which is also what time the evening show starts, basically making it impossible… Read more
for a parent with a child that age to see a show. We are happy to bring a screaming child to a show and will do so, but others won't be so happy. Intentional, poor communication between departments or just not thought of, not great either way. All we could smell in pool on deck 11 where our kids were swimming was cigarette smoke. Disgusting! Have a designated area for smokers away from families. Poor form Royal Caribbean. Kids need to be toilet trained to be in the pool which is fine, however they would rather risk a kid po*p in the pool than to wear a nappy (as a just in case). Now maybe you would say that a cruise is for all to enjoy, but this cruise has been marketed as a Wiggles cruise, so you'd think they'd cater towards that demographic. Clearly not. Plus, their website states : 'No one does kid-friendly cruises better than Royal Caribbean'. I'd hate to see what others are like then.
We booked a Royal Caribbean family cruise well in advance for March 2026. throughout the process was slow and inconsistent, promised call backs did not occur, and our clear preference to move to a suitable alternative sailing was dismissed unless we were willing to pay significantly more — despite the issue originating from their mistake.
Ultimately, our booking was cancelled and refunded without our notification , leaving our family without a holiday and with very limited options elsewhere due to timing.
Booking early meant nothing. Based on our experience, I would not trust Royal Caribbean when booking a family holiday.
Just done Brisbane cruise. Food good. Coffee/ tea not very good, for me, undrinkable . But they did have a buy your own popular coffee franchise on board. Cabin desperately in need of a refurbish. balcony drain pipes. Will not go on this cruise ship again. Been on it once before years ago, it was amazing. Will still do Royal Caribbean cruises, but on the newer ships.
Extremely misleading and borderline deceptive. I specifically checked whether a drinks package was available for a 3-night cruise, was led to believe it was, booked the cruise, and only after booking was told by phone that drinks packages are not available on 3-night cruises. This crucial restriction is buried deep in obscure FAQs and not made… Read more
clear at all upfront. Because it was a last-minute booking, we can’t get a refund — and everything is charged in USD on an Australian booking. Our “short break” has now become outrageously expensive just to have a few drinks. If I could give less than one star, I would.
I did the weekend cruise to Eden and it was highly disappointing. The good aspects were the endless, quality food, great service and very nice rooms (hence 2 stars). ticket e.g. they don't offer drinks packages in Australia (although you do get free water, juice, and standard tea and coffee), most of the restaurants are extra, exercise classes (except stretching) are extra etc. They don't offer activities all day (like roller skating or bumper cars), they only run for a limited timeslot, so when you arrive on time there is already a line up of around 150 people and a 1.5hr wait in queue! When I went it was raining and storms were threatening so they closed the pool, the spa (for the few minutes I did manage to use these facilities we were crammed in like sardines) and in the evening they locked the doors to the outside decks. It was overcrowded, full of families, couples and groups travelling together of all ages and backgrounds - I felt like I was spending the weekend at Westfield Parramatta. It was always a long wait for the lifts. They did a bag charm giveaway but they incredibly made you go pick up the pieces over SIX visits to the store! Surprisingly I didn't get sea sick as you barely notice the movement of the ship. The other nuisance was that EVERYTHING is charged in $US (as the ship is owned by Americans), so you need to be careful that you don't overspend (the currency exchange rate is very unfavourable at the moment). I won't ever be going on a cruise again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Unlike other holiday options, cruising companies and in this case Royal Caribbean have employed very clever lawyers to write up their T & C's to the point where it is highly confusing to grasp any ability to alter a booking. The 43 point Booking Conditions is written in such a way that most people would require a PHD to work through. The sense I… Read more
get is that RC will use every fine point to make changes or moving a booking or assisting in price matching as difficult as possible. The situation used to be far simpler and more honest. Seemingly the US lawyers have had a field day in screwing up the customer for the sake of corporate greed. I do not know of any other holiday process that makes cancelling or altering so difficult. We are long term cruisers but are now second guessing trips with any cruise line as they mostly fall under just a few giant corporations. Thanks RC for making cruising confusing and annoying. Well done !
Royal Carribean Hawaii to Sydney Cruise October 2025. on balcony, slamming doors at 4am and possibly smoking which went unproven during my recent cruise. I had planned this trip for at least two years and was not prepared for the disruption that the stateroom issue become. I took my complaint to the service department located on the ship and they tried to assist by speaking to the noisy neighbours but this only escalated the issue with the offending neighbours ramping up the noise. My stateroom experience became unbearable and after seven nights I asked to be relocated if a spare stateroom became available. Royal Carribean staff reluctantly agreed to move us to a more suitable room which had somehow become vacant after telling us their were no vacant cabins as all were booked out. The room that become available had apparently become available because of a noise issue in which the previous passengers had vacated. This new room was a complete downgrade with obstructed views and it was vacant for a reason. For the next eleven nights we were forced to endure extreme banging from the cabin above which obviously had small children who thought it was fun to jump and create an obvious tirade of noise probably unknown,to us the passengers below. This cruise had started bad and never got any better with our stateroom experience very very poor as we found it hard to relax. I never bothered complaining again and just accepted this was not the cruise for us. I have cruised multiple times before with other cruise lines and never had any issues with anything, this was first time with Royal Carribean. I expected more from Royal Carribean in dealing with my issue but left extremely disappointed with the lack of care, compassion and understanding relating to my issue. I will never cruise again with Royal Carribean due to this experience and will encourage anyone willing to listen to avoid this company when booking cruise holidays. The whole holiday experience which was a bucket list cruise was a nightmare and I believe Royal Carribean could have handled it better. Only positive was the service from all the waiters, attendants and other on board staff who we found professional and extremely willing to assist with anything, thank you!
⭐ If I could give zero stars, I would. I booked this cruise 10 months ago, expecting to receive proper reminders for the final payment. 2026.” There was no clear warning that my booking would be cancelled if payment wasn’t made immediately.
Then, without any notice or final reminder, they cancelled my trip the very next day (4 November) and kept my $200 deposit. My family and I were extremely disappointed after planning this holiday for months.
When I called the resolution team, they were rude and unhelpful, and one staff member even hung up on me, saying there was nothing they could do.
This feels like a tactic to keep people’s deposits through vague and misleading reminder emails. A simple “Final notice – booking will be cancelled in 24 hours” message could have prevented this.
Very disappointing experience — I’ll never book with them again.

international flight changed. I booked through a travel agent, they've done their end as I requested to re-book a flight back home. I really wanted to fly out on 11/11 instead of 12/11 but on 11/11 Vietnam Airlines flight tickets were far to expensive which is why I decided to use money out of pocket to fund the accommodation for the night. We also lost money Cambodia tour started from Ho Chi Minh City. Royal Carribean requested our PDF booking flight so many times which I had done so. I am very disappointed with this situation, it's not about money, it's about the principle. They have to pay back money for us but they didn't. It's been 4 months already. Our family members used Royal Caribbean so many times and really disappointed when we are treated this way. We have also travelled with other company like MSC, Princess, Holland America... and none of these company treated us like what Royal Carribean.
