DO NOT BOOK with this group! They changed the sailing destinations 6 weeks out apparently because the location had been affected by recent storms, yet other ships from other lines were still travelling to said locations. retired to rooms for long periods due to extreme seasickness and our whole family at intentional risk for their profit. Customer service staff lied to us on many occasions and deprived us of opportunities to get home at while in port while their ‘kids club’ staff informed our kids that home port have been damaged by the storm and we staying at sea! Room attendants also knew about extended journey, and told us, but this was denied again and again at customer service! LIARS! This group lacks integrity and empathy changing destination and putting us and all the guests on board at risk. Read terms and conditions before you book and book with Carnival!!! They offer Far superior customer service and focus!! Overpriced by comparison and can not in good conscience recommend to ANYONE!

Average for the hyp and cost – Quantum cruise review Brisbane AU to Vancouver Ship is big 4900 guests. So it doesn’t move much in moderate sea. Internally well appointed. Externally it is showing signs of aging. Balcony Cabins are small but effectively designed. First ship with a decent sized bathroom and a shower that I could actually move in. Second leg cabin balcony was… Read more

unusable peeling paint everywhere flakes landing in morning coffee and drying clothes. The ship offers a wash and fold service in a small bag for around $US30. There are no self laundry facilities on board this ship. There are no drying facilities in the cabins. We took three meters of para cord and a dozen pegs and hand washed for the five week stretch. If you like big lineups this is the ship for you. Tender processing to and from the ship is long and generally disorganised. One day they will design a retractable pontoon that the tenders lock into to avoid unnecessary movement and safety issues. We missed a port in Tahiti and despite the captains explanation crew knew we were going to miss it. RC promote supporting communities however Maui was also taken off our itinerary, I can only imagine how beneficial a ship with five thousand people could have been to Maui after their devastating fires. South Maui is operating as usual. All the usual activities you might expect from a ship of this size plus bumper cars for kids, iFLY and flowrider is fun. Sky dome was not operational for this cruise. Windjammer buffet food choice is good. Hot choices were usually cold. Again large groups at meal times. Finding a table can be a challenge. Handwashing is compulsory before meals but not supervised stringently. Crew and particularly cabin stewarts were great and eager to help. Big shout out to Freddie from deck 8 port aft the first leg. Unfortunately the ship opted to recognise ANZAC day on ship time ( not a day ahead in AU). There also appears to be a lack of communication between areas of this ship. We canceled our dining bookings in person but still got a call most days wondering where we ate. Maintenance and cabin stewarts were unaware of each others activities. Be conscious of $US conversions as sales are often not. Loyalty points are hot and miss, went to desk three times.

Finally, Australia gets a five star ship to cruise on – WOW. Quantum is gorgeous. Very classy. Has something for everyone. Kids are spoilt for fun …. dodgem cars, paint skirmish, rock climbing wall, Wonderland restaurant, sky diving simulator, a huge fun parlor (half a floor of the ship). Adults have the robot cocktail makers, the North Star (elevates you 300 ft above the ship), fabulous bars and… Read more

restaurants, awesome shopping (Bvlgari, Coach, all the great shops), Chops Grill, an adults only Solarium …. so much to do. And the show …. by the ship’s singers and dancers in Two70 …. was “spectacular”. Total professionalism. As good as any l have seen (50+ cruises ….. and one had Cirque de Soleil) ….. this was better. They were amazing. Going on her again in March. Looking forward to it. Nicest ship in Australian waters.

Love Royal Caribbean Cruise – I have been cruising with RCC for 3 times now. The most recent one was few weeks ago. We had amazing time. The show and the drink package are so good. We had so much laughs and fun The only down side is the non refundable deposit Once u booked, u are dead set There is no flexibility in it Short cruise u will find some “ entitled brats” young kids but Royal CC is able to have some Adult Show only so kids won’t ruin ur fun Show details

Excursions prices – We haven’t started our cruise yet, just frustrated trying to book excursions, when the excursions are on sale and I put them in my cart they won’t go through, then I try next day or so but the prices fluctuates by $40-$60 and the payment will go through. I have called twice and put on hold and forgotten about, I have called 3 times unsuccessful. The excursions are expensive but my payment should be accepted when there on sale

Overall very nice but a couple of sore points – Lovely boat, was super clean and the staff were awesome, 2 big gripes, this ship sailed out of Brisbane , Australia with I presume a mainly Australian based complement of guests so why is everything onboard charged in USD????? also there are only US power sockets in the cabins so you head down to guest service only to be told that they had some… Read more

Amazing Ship. Large Cabins. Great entertainment. Food OK – Quantum is truly a floating entertainer ship. It is not just a cruise ship but a whole world of leisure. We cruises for 18 days from Brisbane to Hawaii via Tahiti in April this year. We were welcomed on the ship. Balcony cabin was amazingly large. Bathroom very spacious. Lots of having space. There were three of us and at no time was it cramped.… Read more

Great large tv. Room clean is one a day but we found you can soak to the steward in the morning and tell him what time each day you want it so he is very flexible. The ship has an outdoor pool and an indoor pool. We often went swimming after a show in the evening in the indoor pool. Shows were great with amazing Australian and American performers. We had an Australian cruise director who was amazingly good. He adjusted what was on the daily plan based on what people liked so events were always well attended. We loved being around the pool with live music from the band. Lots of drinks available. Great range of shops. The ship had two show lounges so at times we would go to one Sm show then go to the other end of the ship for a different event. We had silent discos, 70s night, strictly ballroom, 80s night. We stayed up so late with all the entertainment that we often got up at 11. We did dodgem cards, archery, roller skating, laser tag, sky diving, rock wall climbing, flow rider, ping pong. Air hockey, north star, water sports. Dine people complain about the food but you just have to know what to order. We had freshly made omelettes with smoked salmon for breakfast and a star bucks coffee. We had freshly made pasta sauce with my cover of ingredients for lunch. We enjoyed dining in the main dining room once again you need to request slight variations which they accommodate. We had many days at sea and loved it all. The ship is only 4 years old and its the best cruise ship I have ever left Australia on. Well done Royal Carribean.

Quantum Of The Seas Review – Food excellent. Dining experiences excellent. Entertainment excellent. Cleanliness excellent. However if you are looking for a quiet relaxing cruise, this isn't it. Exchange Rate .52 - Not fair – The Staff were terrific and the food was very good but queing for breakfast was a pain. No Cricket - we were on the ship on boxing day - plenty of NFL - who cares about NFL. Our biggest gripe was the exchange rate. Everything was charged at a rate of 52 cents in the dollar. So when you buy a $7 US beer, it actually costs you about $14. We stopped… Read more

drinking. They also would not use our Qantas Mastercard which we recently used in London and Sweden but not accepted by RC. So we had to keep going to Guest Services and que up for 1-2 hours to sort that out. At the same time there were plenty of waiters serving over-prices drinks at the many bars on the ship. Guest Service basically did not exist. Our Advice is to take say $1000 US and wait for 1-2 hours at Guest service and put it onto your Account. Check your Bill as we detected one overcharge and so off to a 1-2 hour wait at Guest Services to sort it out. We Cruise a lot with 3 more booked for this year but we will never cruise with RC again. Watch your wallet - Respectable pirates – Royal Caribbean has a fantastic product. I have no idea why they have to make it so difficult and treat customer like they are the problem. Do not purchase from the Fine Jewellery Shop – I purchased a very expensive ring from the Fine Jewellery Shop on our cruise in early January. Starboard promised a refund and I was quite happy with this, however I was to provide documentation regarding the purchase of the ring. I advised that I was not provided the documentation required for a refund and was told to request it, which I did. Suffice it to say that I contacted Starboard Customer Service in January, they have the ring I purchased and have I not received a refund promised as of 14.06.2024 and my emails are now going unanswered. I would strongly advise that you not purchase from any jewellery store onboard.

Raiata port cancelled due to what they claimed was bad weather (we saw it ok) talk around ship was that it was due to continuous mechanical issues (we were credited $75 for arriving late in Tahiti) so I guess they didn't want to credit us again so put the blame on weather. Immigration process on arrival into Honolulu (day early as we had raiatea cancelled) was a crap show, majority of passengers had to wait for over 1:20hrs, when they decided to pop Non US citizens through the US citizens only lane, they got through in less than 10 mins, may passengers complained to staff, and were basically told to shut up and stay in line. Covid onboard – We have cruised with all cruise companies from Australia, P&O, Carnival and Princess. We did an amazing cruise out of Singapore on a maiden cruise with Royal Caribbean and so thought booking with them would be a great choice. The shows were limited and repeated. The menu in the dining room was repetitive with one or two items only changed each… Read more

night. We ate breakfast in our room and were very happy with this room service meaning we did not have to compete with the crowds in Windjammer. Finding a table was near impossible. The number of unattended children was alarming. Groups of five or more running around late at night, playing in the lifts, running up and down the stairs and dining in Windjammer without parents was alarming. The pool area was loud and full of screaming children. We tried the adult only area and no way was I going to get in a small pool or spa with standing room only due to so many people in at once. The pools were small and spas even smaller. So much alcohol, drinking started at breakfast and continued all day. Five days out of seven were onboard days so all everyone seemed to do was sit in the bars and drink. The shopping was dismal. On other cruise lines there was the ability to go to a general store on board and buy a paperback book, a packet of sweets, a bottle of shampoo anything you might need but no, there was a very small corner at the back of a very limited duty free liquor store which would have been the very last place you would look for a bandaid. The room was as expected, one clean a day as opposed to two on other cruise lines but we had no problem with the room attendant. We had two stops one in Noumea where it rained all day. This was day 5 of a seven day cruise. The next morning we woke with head colds or so we thought. On arriving home and feeling very ill two days later we had positive Covid tests. There was very limited mention of Covid on this cruise. It seemed apart from “washy washy” attendant at Windjammer there was nothing. Covid is a possibility anywhere in the world in every day life but it seemed that to not have a negative test a requirement before boarding as with other cruise lines was a head in the sand by Royal Carribean. We are at day 5 of testing positive to Covid and day 7 of symptoms to be ill on day 5 of a cruise seems to an indication that a passenger or crew member was carrying this infection when the cruise left port. I have no hesitation in saying cruising is still a great risk of contracting this disease as opposed to living in the outside world in fresh air. Holiday elsewhere it is safer.

Cruise Experience

Very, very poor experience overall – 6-12-'23 to 12-12-'23 Quantum of the Seas departing Brisbane for Nth Qld. Firstly, the itinerary was wiped out the night before. Lots of unruly children and teens and many, many drunks. Overkill of trivia for entertainment. Average entertainment shows. Noisy outside the cabin with room attendants and slamming doors. Overpriced and very average wine selection. I understand the weather conditions, but surely some sort of credit would have been nice, but nope, nothing. See you later RCL and would not ever get on this ship again. This was our 5th cruise with them, but no more $ going to waste with this company.

not receive a response to not one email. After waiting another two hours to speak to a customer service representative, the reason I was provided was that the payment was not made, despite the remittance advice being sent and the money being deducted that same day from my bank account. The customer service representative did not offer any compassion, take responsibility or offer any other suggestion to rebook this cruise. I was only told to provide my bank details and I will receive the refund in 30 days. I told the customer service that this was not acceptable as I was not at fault and if I cancelled, I would not have received my deposit back. I requested to speak to the supervisor, who informed me that I would receive my refund in 7 business days. Imagine to my surprise, that the customer service representative said no 3 bedroom rooms were available, yet on the Black Friday Sale- surprise surprise- 3 bedroom rooms were available. Unfortunately, as I did not have my refund, I could not book the rooms. Today, is the 7th business day and I still have not received my refund. Again, I contact the Royal Caribbean, only to be told, that the refund was transferred and there is an issue with my bank. I spoke to my bank who confirmed no payment has been received and I sent an email again with a copy of my bank statement showing no refund has been received. As I did not receive yet another response- which is no surprise, I called the Royal Caribbean again to which I am now told by a different representative that I have to wait until 8 December to receive my refund. Absolutely shocking customer service by an international company, who is probably gaining interest from my money. If the customer cancels, the refund is automatically lost and credited to Royal Caribbean but if the Royal Caribbean cancels the customer has to wait.

I asked her whether she had been provided with any painkillers, and she said ‘nothing’, and that she had had the ‘worst holiday ever’ and had been unable to eat anything except porridge for six days. There do not seem to be any medical / dental facilities, although many of the passengers are elderly and / or young people. Not included in this statement are the croupiers, who were very friendly. 2. The arrangements for disembarking for the two onshore trips were woeful. I have no idea why anyone should, on holiday, have to get up at 6am to get tickets for the tenders to the two departure points. Why could those tickets not have been issued the afternoon or evening prior, possibly by the Royal Caribbean's comprehensive app, and all of the people / families left waiting around for hours and hours would have known their departure time for the offshore experience. As a result, people in groups were literally sitting around for hours on the Mystery Island departure day. On Mystery Island day, I had a tender ticket issued at 9am that did not come up until 2.30pm. I had long given up, as had others. Many did not make it onto the island as the last return tender was at 4pm. There were people behind me, and before me, who were pretty angry and did not make it to the island. Not good enough, especially with only two stops available on the 7-day cruise. On Vanuatu (Vila) Day, same chaos but more tenders. But other issues as well. Shambolic all round. 3. Why were passengers not told of the required arrangements re the Vanuatu stop: a. No idea that Australian dollars were the preferred currency on Vanuatu, to the point that they actually sell houses in Australian dollars! I actually changed some US dollars on Vanuatu to get a better deal at the duty free. It would have been helpful to have been informed of this. b. No indication prior to travelling of how we would get from the tender to the town if you were not on a pre-paid trip. It turned out that one could pay $AU5 for a minibus seat or $20 p/p for a taxi. Very shambolic. 4. The dining arrangements were very odd. I asked on Day 1 about sitting in the different restaurants, only to be told quite firmly that the food was identical in each of the ‘pre-paid’ restaurants. So no need to move around restaurants? Very strange, and unlike the P&O experience I had encountered twice previously, where the Italian restaurant was exactly that, and the Chinese restaurant likewise, and very good individually. 5. The ‘entertainment’ was woeful. Two of the three shows I, and others, walked out of. They were not up to standard as expected from P&O on much more budget cruises. The magician show was great for children aged 4-10 years, but I and many others spoke of the disappointment in terms of what we had anticipated. 6. Many of the ‘activities’ were simply promotional opportunities for products. I particularly point to the ‘pamper’ session and the jewellery sessions, and the electric car session was so out of left field that I can only assume someone paid to be there. 7. Many ‘activities’ were simply repeats during the same day. Pretty lame. Also, handing out an A4 sheet for Sudoko does not equate to an activity. Not good enough. 8. Other activities were simply unavailable, booked up solidly. This included the main attractions as promoted in the pre-booking promotion. 9. The theme nights apart from Halloween, which was a given due to the fact that the sail included 31 October, were sad, mainly because the passengers had not been given notification prior to boarding of the 70s and 80s nights, so few one had any costume elements. It would have been better had, as with P&O, there were craft sessions on the days prior to make suitable costumes, but no. 10. The disembarkation day was a real mess. It took hours, even though I deliberately left my disembarkation until the later period to give the crowd to disperse. I was soaked in sweat by the finish, due in large point to a lack of air conditioning until we got to the final room. Also, we were told to have our passports ready, had them in hand the whole time, and never needed them. All that got checked by Border Control was our completed statement. Would I recommend Royal Caribbean? No. Would I travel Royal Caribbean again? No. Would I sail again? Yes, but not on RC.

Terrible customer service so we didn’t book – Reserved an accessibility room as my mum uses a wheelchair, told us they would send paperwork as my mums disability has to get “approved” by them. Didn’t email the forms and cancelled us because we hadn’t paid deposit but didn’t pay it yet as we received nothing from them or an “approval” for the disabled room. Called back and got an incredibly… Read more

rude guy called Cesar who blamed me for his colleagues screw up. And said to look on the app for it. How was I meant to pay deposit that day when it takes 24 hours to “approve” my mothers disability. Then when I tried to start the booking all over again they jacked up the price! If anything we should’ve received a discount for their incompetence so we will be booking a cruise and taking our money elsewhere as getting info from them is like pulling teeth. We dodged a bullet here. If you have special needs or any kind of help with anything avoid like the plague. Discrimination against disabled and elderly et it’s finest!
