Terrible product sooooo disappointing – Used today for the first time straight from the box brand new never used because I had foot surgery 4 years ago and did not have the chance to cook. Was excited to make a pesto, making noise when i started using it and did not work.. the spring and 2 small white parts disintegrated with the blade. I did not learn my lesson as I bought an earlier one and broke as well. Doesn’t even deserve a 1 star. Show details
This mini processor is a dud – .Used half a dozen times . Recently tried to use it and found the blades didn't rotate. The blades only rotate when nothing is in bowl. The moment you put a small piece of vegetable, the blades failed to rotate. Show details
This product does nothing but waste your time! – This product does nothing but waste your time! This food processor has two blades, and sometimes one of the blades doesn't spin. Also when the blades spin all they do is shift the food to the sides of the bowl instead of actually chopping it. You will spend more time moving the food inward toward the blades than you will actually processing the… Read more
food itself. This is not my only disappointing experience with Russell Hobbs products, I will never be buying from this brand again.
Positive reviews
Ease of use – This is so easy to use. Does all my little jobs. Chops finely with ease. What I also like is the 1lt size glass bowl. Great for making pestos and mixes for meals. Usually use mine for chopping and combining my mix for my meatballs. It is easy to clean and is 400 watt. There is no spillage nor stallling. Highly recommend. Show details
Works great – I have just used this Processor with onion, carrot and celery, which I chopped seperate and cut into small chucks. It was excellent at chopping these ingredients much finer than I could cut by hand. I am suprised at the negative resonse. Maybe adding small pieces was the trick. It is a mini processor - so I did not expect superior chopping. Overall I was very impressed.
Obsolete at The Good Guys – I bought mine on the 9/2014 I used it once when I bought it then I used it Christmas 2015 and then new years day 2016 and that was it ,on new years day it started to smoke up,I had lost the reciept but I remembered where I bought it from went back estimated how long I had it and they found information and its got 2 yrs warranty the only problem is… Read more

OK to start with – Was delighted with this initially, but it did not last the distance. I found it very useful for small jobs and liked the fact that the working parts (apart from the motor unit) were easy to dismantle & wash. However, the top of the spindle holding the blades which is supposed to engage in motor no longer does so, despite having had very little use - and I cannot get a replacement part. Very disappointed! Disappointing – I bought this appliance after the bowl attachment of my stick blender broke. I only needed this to do small jobs like make bread crumbs or crumb biscuits. I find that unless the bowl is not relatively full it just pushes the contents to the edge of the bowl where the blades can't reach it. So you have to keep opening it up and scraping the… Read more
contents down. Just 1 pulse and everything is back on the sides of the bowl. It only works if the bowl is full and even then it is not 100% effective. The shape of the bowl with the small blades results in it not working. I am now looking for a new small aplliance.
Inconsistent – Have used about 12 times since purchasing a year ago - what a challenging little product! I never know what to expect - I have had some huge successes then absolute disasters. Blitzed some biscuits for a pie crust and it was brilliant then it totally destroyed a cabbage I was attempting to shred for salad - some pieces were minced to a pulp and… Read more
other pieces looked larger than when I started. I haven't had problems aligning the processor but I almost amputated a finger when taking it apart to clean, so take care. The Jury is still out for me regarding this appliance.

Waste of money – I bought this processor to mince small amounts of meat to make patties for two people, and protein balls. The processor started making a strange sound and smelled like burning rubber/plastic after 30 seconds of attempting to blend 1 cup of pitted dates. I used it again a week later to mince a chicken breast (small diced pieces) and it started… Read more
smelling, then smoke started coming from the unit. The smoke wouldn't stop so I put it outside in the concrete where it continued to smoke for another 10 minutes. Once it had stopped I put it straight in the bin. Maybe I as expecting too much from a mini processor?!
Disappointed – I very much agree with an earlier review stating this product is an example of bad design occasionally working well. Same issues as others; worked well for six months and then blade shafts broke down and wouldn't engage with the motor. Very disappointed overall. Woild expect better from this brand.
Disappointed – Have had this product for a while but did not use it very much because of the difficulty of aligning all the parts to assemble it for use. When I got it out to use recently, I could not get the blades to rotate when anything was in the bowl. When I viewed it more carefully I observed the plastic fins inside the blade shaft, (aligns with the drive… Read more
shaft) were sheared off and did not engage enough to propel the blades around to chop, etc. This looks like use of poor materials (grade of plastic) and inadequate product design. Disappointing from a brand that is promoted as being better designed. lc
Waste of money – I replaced my old faithful, too small, processor with this thinking I was buying quality. It lasted 12 months before the body holding the blades flew apart. Obviously not strong enough for household use, or processing dates! Has always been difficult to align the motor onto the baldes. Back to old faithful.

Useless – Used it only 4 times stopped working. The motor just runs without rotating the blades. The motor is not working properly. It's a bad mechanism and the blades and the motor does not align properly. Very dissapointed with the product such a waste of money. warning please don't buy this. Warning
A mighty little chopper – I really like this blender. It's compact and it didn't cost a fortune. It works very well - I've minced chicken breast, blitzed dates and have crumbed biscuits - all in just seconds. It can be frustrating lining up the blade & hand piece as they don't sit together properly sometimes and you have to jiggle it to sit properly. But this little… Read more
issue is minor compared to its other benefits. :)
* Edit (a few months later) - fixed some bad grammatical errors in my original post. Oops! But also wanted to add that I fall more and more in love with this mighty little machine each time I use it. I've now made nut butters, blitzed Wethers Originals for a special Christmas ice cream (it took less than 5 seconds!). I really love it!
A Great Little Appliance! – I don't know what the negative reviews are all about. I bought one on holidays 2 years ago from Big W and it worked so well, my son purchased one immediately when we returned home. So we have one each. He trained as a cook and processes carrot, celery and onion in it for Bolognese and Burgers with no problems. We do this quite often. We've had no… Read more
problems with them. Maybe you place too many veges in the container of cut them too big. We like to look after our appliances and they look after us.
PS: I just checked the Amazon site in UK that is full of Good Reports for this product. And I read a few on the 1st page who have had theirs for some time, even 7 years! Most reviews I witnessed are 5 stars and some 4 stars. Some really good comments have been made there! A few reviews say it doesn't like too small amounts, so if you avoid under-filling and over-filling, I don't see any problem.
PPS: I cannot speak Highly enough of this Appliance. It's really Great. I've had to replace two Processing Items in my Kitchen but not this one!!! ENJOY!!!
PPPS: Oh I notice 'Russell Hobbs Classic Chopper 'RHMFP2' Trust their Small Processors? Yes we Do! This was not Solicited because we are so happy with our 'Russell Hobbs Mini Processor RHMFP1' and I'm Updating some of my Reviews. I think they have Changed the Name for practical reasons. Two members of our Family bought these years ago from Big W - one of our best buys!
Shaft seating shredded – I've had mine for maybe a year tops. It was the perfect size for someone who didn't need a big machine and had little cupboard space. I used it once or twice a month. It always struggled with solid food. I'd often have to add water to get the blades to move. All of a sudden yesterday it wouldn't move at all. For some reason the motor wasn't… Read more
sitting properly in the shaft and it shredded the seating. I don't have the receipt I don't think so I won't be returning it. Will have to think about if I replace it at all or just see if I can get by with stick blender.
Perfect mini processor – If the notches of the plastic lid, don't line up with the glass bowl, you are starting on the wrong foot? It is crucial that the lid sits secure on the bowl, and that the motor part must sit snuggly on top. By failing to take the time to align the part, your in for trouble. Of cause it will shred the gear when incorrectly placed, the shaft being… Read more
plastic and the motor gear is metal.
If used correctly this is a wonderful little gadget.
I use it daily for breakfast: Greek yoghurt, macadamias, almonds, hazelnuts, oats, frozen berries and psyllium husks. A perfect smoothie every time!
Some people mention that the lid won't properly line up, well, you are the operator, and you make sure they do line up, as failing to do so ruins this perfect little gadget.
Bad purchase – I bought the mini processor last year. Switched it on and it made a really weird loud sound. Stopped the machine and I noticed bits of white plastic in my bowl with the herbs. Looked like bits of the plastic had broken off. Did not return machine or get a replacement. It is still in my cupboard. What a waste of my time.
This is an example of bad design sometimes working well – I had our unit in for parts replacement several times. The main culprit is blade design which is very weak and sometimes has to do a heavy job, which causes its plastic parts to disintegrate. As well the top cover does not always seat properly meaning the blade locking parts are torn. As well the second blade has a plastic lock on to the main… Read more
blade and this easily disintegrates as another user here points out, and we have experienced. For the last six months ours only has had one blade.
As well the blade which relies on spring tension from below to interlock with the motor is sometimes depressed by food and wont work.
As well often the motor does not seat which then stops its function.
As well the motor can burn out.
The only saving grace is that when it works it does a great job!
Fortunately it has a 2 year warranty in NZ and needs it.
Mine is going back for a refund or trade for a proper chopper.
Russel Hobbs stuff is usually good, this model unfortunately, is junk.
Bad Blades – I owned for a while but then the lid wouldn't line up properly and then noticed bits of black plastic in food that had come off from around the blade.
Perefect for chopping – I was skeptical of buying it at first place reading all the reviews here. But then it was on sale at Myer's and had warranty on it. So, I thought I can always return it back if it doesnt work. Only issue I felt was aligning cap with jar, but it has never stopped it from chopping. I have chopped onion, tomatoes, carrots, almonds, garlic, cabbage , ginger and couple of other things. No issues so far.

Do not buy! – I really wish it worked. On the first 4 occasions it was amazing. Then would only work empty. Tried adding tomatoes and it just buzzed and the blades didn't turn, immediately emptied it and it would work fine! Very frustrating!
Rubbish – Can believe they market this shit. As many have posted before the cutting blade shaft is made of a soft plastic and in my case wore out after 4 uses. Do not buy .
Love it when it works, which isn't very often – It is just so hard to line up the blades with the motor, which is a shame as everything else is great. After having a look at it again, and making sure it is unplugged, I tried to not push the blade to the bottom of the spindle which leaves it more flexible, and it was easier to line it up with the motor and then push it all down. I can understand how everyone is having problems and if I continue to have problems it is going back.
Very Happy – I purchased this little machine yesterday from Big W... I wanted to make a Beef Rendang curry with all fresh ingredients.... didn't want to muck around getting out my big cumbersome processor. This little fellow did the job I needed in No time... clean up easy and the glass bowl is a great added bonus. Have read the other reviews and will wait… Read more
to see if I strike any similar problems, but so far Very Happy. The easy put together and clean up of processor.
Buyer Beware – This is awful! Only works 1-2 times and is great! After that, the blades do not lock in and the minute you put any ingredient in to process, it will just hum and not go around! Do not be fooled by the good name, this product is not worth the stress! Does not do what it is supposed to and makes me mad!!!
Just so disappointing - don't bother – So disappointing from Russell Hobbs! Doesn't spin blades once food is in, gears fray after few goes, black plastic worn off into food, just useless really. It looks great, great price and perfect size but so frustrating to use, yet another rubbish item. Highly recommend Russell Hobbs to make a product that is up to standards.
Not the right product for me – It doesn't blend well. I was trying to make chutney, it just chopped corriander, not make into thin smooth paste, as it says on the box. I buy it yesterday and I am going to return it very soon. It is not the reliable product, and not for me. Others may find it useful. not noisy, quick and glass bowl, small and compact.
Lucky me! – Unlike the others here I am having a good time with mine. I've had it six weeks, am using it twice a week, and am very pleased with it. It works well and is fast. Maybe the other users have not had it attached properly. It's a little tricky to get the top motor part clicked in correctly.
Don't buy! – I honestly don't know why this is even on the market? It worked fine when there was nothing in it. But than when you place something in it, it doesn't budge and I'm talking salad, yes light lettuce leaves. I guess it's what you have to expect when you pay $40. My advice if you're looking for a cheap way out... don't cheap out with this one because… Read more
you will only be refunding it not long after you buy it. It looks good and that's it. If I could give it no stars than that's what I'd rate it. If I could at least stop one person from making the same mistake I did well than I'm happy. I've gone to a philips food processor... And I'm not looking back. It looks good. Everything but it's looks
Thought it would be great but it failed – First time we used it it was very good and very effective, just the size we wanted. Second time we used it, it didn't work. Like others we had trouble with stripped gears, then it is really only useful as an artificial reef or landfill. Rather disappointing, other Russell Hobbs products we have are very good. This is going back to the Good Guys. Great size It fails after very little use
What rubbish – First time use, started smoking when blending bread to make bread crumbs looks good, and that is where it ends. Save your money, not sure why this is even on the market. now it just does not work. Taking it back to the store to exchange for something that does the job Looks good everything except the look of it
Horrible appliance – First time i used it the blade strip were it attach to the top piece, originnally it didnt want to connect, an ventually when it did it just stipped the groves completly, now i can only throw it away cause the blade dont turn!!! Relly disappointed in this Russel Hobbs product as I was until now a firm believer in this name... It looked good, and… Read more

Doesn't work – I bought this for my partner and at first the blades just didn't engage with the motor at all. Then it began to work but he said the design of it just didn't work well. The blades don't reach anything at the top of the bowl and he didn't get a good consistency with the rest either. Then it stopped working again. We are taking it back to the shop. Nice small size. Easy to clean glass bowl. Doesn't work
