Excellent – Great to last children until the are older and outgrow,I feel it is the safest on the market and as i have an older child i like the fact she is comfortable due to the wider sides,it locks in by anchor point to the car and her harness can also anchor in to the back of the carseat as shes outgrown the straps and the sub clip now keeps the seatbelt… Read more
low away from her tummy incase of accidents.
This booster is excellent for peace of mind and safety Extra anchor point for 5 point harness with sub clip, wide wings so good for older/bigger children.Higher back and extra strap room.My 7yo fits easily in this seat and am now looking to buy my 4yo one. Straps can be hard to adjust,is a wide seat so would take up more room in a small car but as i only have 2 children it fits perfect in my station wagon. Is a costly seat at around $350 but most car seats are around that so guess its the same as a babyseat price range!
Good – The Explorer is a great seat for keeping a child in the 5pt harness longer. The top shoulder slots are 5cm higher than most other carseats which can be a great feature if your child is still under 18kg but their torso is long and their shoulders are 2.5cm above the top slots in other car seats. Once the child reaches 18kg they can then use the… Read more · 1
lapsash belt of the car to restrain them. Extra shoulder slots for 5 point harness
Head support
Easy to install
Easy to adjust shoulder straps Hard to find instore or online
Very wide - will be hard fit if using 3 carseats/boosters across the back
Excellent – I luv the explorer seat as it dosnt take up as much room as the maxirider2,Its got a recline on it which I have it in that position all the time as is only minimal & I know my daughters head wont flop forward. Also its sholder straps are higer than the maxirider2 as my daughter is on the last height slots in the maxirider2 and is not even looking… Read more
to change the height in the explorer so if you are looking for height the explorer is quiet a bit higher. My daughter still luvs maxirider2 tho with been abel to lift the armrests as she gets in and out, cupholders great aswell, which I found out you can order this for the explorer as an accessory and clips on in the middle of the seat between there legs. I like the ease of putting the explorer in the car, we also have a maxirider2 & had to buy the explorer because the mawrider2 was to hard to swap from car to car. The harness can be a bit hard to adjust but good to know my 3yr old daughter can adjust it on her own
Excellent – This would have to be my best buy when it comes to carseats. I am very happy with my purchase. It has a nice tall backrest, soft fabric, a pillow. It is so quick and easy to install in the car. This seat performed better than the maxirider2 in the 2007 crash test results (in 6 point harness mode and also as a booster with adult seatbelt). Not… Read more
sure why people think the MR2 is the best seat for toddlers. I think this one is! The explorer has 4 shoulder slots (so has one more slot than MR2 for use with the protecta harness. Don't waste your money on a maxirider2 get your money's worth and buy the explorer Good sidewing protection, easier and quicker to install into the car than other FF child restraints, nice tall backrest for tall toddlers There is nothing I dislike about it
Excellent – this is a great seat for a child too small for booster seat too big for a baby seat.our son was 23mths(& on the small side) when our daughter came along and looking for a safe seat this was a great option. you can use it with the inbuilt harness(like those on the baby seats) & when your child gets bigger as a booster seat where you use the seat… Read more
belt in the car.when my son fell asleep in the car he looked comfortable as his head would rest on the side wings & not flop around like you see some children. we had a safe & sound baby seat for him and we were really happy with it so we decided to stick with this great brand. the only thing is that this seat is a little wider than some.our daughter is ready to go into a booster seat & we were looking to purchase her the same seat but the 2 seats in the back of our car would not leave much room inbetween.we got a vario kid max for our son as it is a little smaller & him being small fits fine & gave our daughter the explorer.but overall a great product easy to use. safe & comfortable for the child. liked the way it anchors in the back like a baby seat for safety. safer option if you need to put a small toddler into another car seat a little wider than some seats & the price seemed a little high, but you are paying for a great product.
Good – The Safe N Sound Explorer is almost identical to the Maxi Rider, but again without the armrests and cupholders.I now own both and can't say besides the comments I have just stated that there really is that much difference. It does fit that little bit better in the car and when my daughter gets a little older will buy another Explorer, only for the… Read more
fact that it does look more like a booster seat instead of a baby carseat. It still has the anchore bolt because the seat is made of plastic not foam,it is not as heavy as the maxi or as bulky and this seat litrally has the highest backrest of them all only by 1/2 an inch or so but every little bit counts when you are trying to keep them in their seat longer. It doesn't have a recline position, but my son is 5 and dosen't need it.The colour we chose is Chess and it fits in really well with the interior of the car and the fabric is very lush.I do think the price is highly over rated, but that is to be said about alot of products.Overall Safety is what it comes down to and I feel confident enough that this seat will give my child the protection that it has been designed to do. It is Safe N Sound so you know it is one of the safest seats on the market. Doesn't have cup holders which we did use quite often or arms rests which I felt would be alot safer in an accident, taking alot of the side impact.
Excellent – I love this car seat. I did original have another car seat but my daughter was put into a plaster cast then a brace due to dislocated hip and didn't fit into her 1st seat. We bought this one so she would fit and still be able to use the car. She loved it from day one. Slept in it with ease. I have washed the cover and it didn't pill or fade at… Read more
all, and it took very little time to dry. I also took it to QLD with us on the plane and it was light and portable and sturdy.
The only thing it is impossible to tighten the straps with her in the seat, I didn;'t have this problem when we first bought it. Not sure what has caused it. But I can tighten them when she is out of it. Stylish, light, easy to install and move from car to car and comfortable for the kiddies and easy tomachine wash I'm having problems tightening the straps when my daughter is sitting in it
Excellent – When you are making a desicion on car seats you can't go past this or the maxi rider. They take children/babies from as little as 8kg all the way up to 26kg which is helpful with the new laws where young children need to be in a child restraint up untill about the age 6 (correct me if I am wrong). If you have the money to spend go for it. A word… Read more
of wisdom to anyone purchasing this seat or the maxi you can score them for around $300 do not pay the reccomended prices of almost $400. I love the Explorer and picked this (after much research) over the Maxi Rider 2. The Explorer is uncomplicated and very stylish. It rates the same as the Maxi it just doesn't have armrests and cupholders which i thought would become more annoying than helpful. It is super easy to install and take out. It is not bulky or heavy. Nothing really, occasionally the straps twist but that has happened with all the car seats I have used.
OK – Nice seat and I guess it is good for the money. I find that it takes up too much room in the car, especially when you need to fit in 3 seats. safe, easy to install, high shoulder straps Big and Bulky. Takes up a lot of room. Hard to get hold of. Cost.
