Samsung Galaxy A11 Ordeal – I've bought 2 Samsung Galaxy A11 phones, one for myself and one for my son in May 2021. They were working fine for 11 months up until a Samsung update in 2022. After this update both phone screens started to freeze frequently with the touchscreen being unresponsive and worse the screens jumping around. We've contacted customer service multiple… Read more
times, tried safe mode, communicated via their smart tutor and members app,but to no avail. I'm sure we're not the only ones with 2 faulty phones! Online customer service via their Members App was very frustrating giving us the run around with no intention to be genuinely helpful.
Longterm Samsung customer feels ripped off due to failed expandable storage – I've been with Samsung for 15 years, loved my Samsung Galaxy 7-Edge until it suddenly died mid-update after buying a new battery to expediate the repair process, the technician said it would highly likely fail again as this issue with Samsung Galaxy 7 was so common, so I bought the Samsung Galaxy A11 as a replacement. I feel completely ripped off… Read more
by Samsung. Not only is this phone completely unfit for intended use -the laggiest phone I've ever used; frequently unable to answer/end end calls due to lagging, failed keypad options during phonecalls, tediously slow to boot, poor performance, and battery, false claimes re specifications; inbuilt QR scanner -does not work, facial recognition & fingerprint scanner -does not work etc. etc.
I have always valued storage. I purchased the Samsung Galaxy A11 32GB BECAUSE Samsung gave the option of expandable storage. I then paid more than the cost of the phone to purchase the 2 X 512BG SanDisk Extreme Pro micro SD cards. It's completely unacceptable that Samsung's marketed this storage solution when over 95% of the apps are only compatible with the phone's internal storage.
A phone – Ive never owned a phone better than this. The sound is horrible. The resolution is good. The battery life is short Phone gets hot It runs smooth It is light I only use this for basic life experience. Traded in my nokia 2.3 and got this fir 140. Great price. Using external storage card to play flac music through good speakers is great. In the end it glitched up. Key board was horrid. I got rid of it.

This is the mobile phone that I can't live without! – I love the versatility of this product. I also love the picture quality of photos I take. I'm able to check my emails. I haven't had any problems with this phone, it's Android but I will definitely not be going back to an iPhone. The apps run very fast and smoothly on this phone. I got it as a gift from my husband. I can turn off my sound and… Read more · 1
still be able to use it in bed without disturbing my husband. It's got a smart view button and a power saving and comfort eye button.

It's not a smart phone, it's stupid – I will start from the top, I was told before I bought the phone that it has built in NFC and a Gyroscope, which it doesn't have. On top of that the storage is an issue because no matter what size SD card you have you will continue to have storage problems. The fingerprint qnd face scanner are NOT reliable so good luck trying to use it when you… Read more
need it.The touch screen chooses when it wants to work and also freezes a lot. The battery charge loses power after a short amount of time as well, I only got this phone at the end of February 2021 and the phone will go through 6% per 20 minutes, don't know if it's for all the phones or just mine. Oh amd the keyboard, decides it doesn't want to work while in apps, constantly freezing and force closing everything. The charging port decides what cord works when so some days I can't charge my phone because it doesnt want to work. On top of all of that I am unable to qnswer calls because the screen had decided it don't want to work or the phone just doesn't ring or notify me that someone had try to call. Ive missed important phone calls and lost out on any houses I had applied for because they would try to ring me qnd I couldn't answer the phone or I never received the call. I've also had text messages come in 2 days after they have been sent. I am so angry about this phone as I don't have money to just go buy a new one, I have to save up and I have a kid I need to support so any spare money goes to him. Samsung, you need to recall these phones. It's pathetic how you've allowed the phones to be sold knowing all the problems that come with it and not doing anything about it. Won't recommend to anybody ever. It literally takes so much self control to not just throw the phone in the microwave.
Good For The Price – Let's not forget the old adage that "you get what you pay for", and this is certainly an example of that saying. The A11 is the entry level phone in the Samsung Galaxy range, to find it on the Samsung website you have to scroll right to the very bottom of the page - in fact, the A Series is the bottom Series in their range, and the A11 is the… Read more
bottom of that Series. It's as if they are embarrassed of it.
There is however nothing to be embarrassed of, the performance of this phone is consistent with the cost. It's not the best camera / battery / screen / speakers / RAM / processor in the range, but you can have better if you are prepared to pay more for it. I believe that the other reviewers have forgotten that if you pay peanuts, you should expect monkeys.
There are some Apps which will not work because the software is not the latest release, it's slower than the more expensive variants, having multiple apps open will significantly slow it down, switching between apps is clunky and overall it is a frustrating experience - but what do you expect for $250?
For somebody that has a habit of breaking mobile phones frequently, I think this is an exceptional purchase - a burner phone essentially. For others who want all the biggest / best / hardest / fastest mobile phones - stop complaining and pay the money if you want the good stuff.
Great mobile for the price – I previously had a galaxy a5 for 5 years. Planned to upgrade, wasn't willing to spend thousands on a silly mobile phone. Well for this price its worth every penny. I do listen to spotify everyday, watch some youtube, whatsapp, calls, wifi, hotspot; these are things i do pretty often. Didnt have an issue with performance at all. I used to have… Read more · 3
performance issues with a5 mainly when my phone memory is full of videos and pics, would be ok after i clear them. I strongly recommend this phone as its a lot of value for money. With samsung smart switch, transferring data from old to new mobile is a piece of cake; even my alarms get transferred over!! I have had an iPhone before, been there done that, not getting another iphone in my life. I don't take a zillion pictures so don't know about the camera, but took a couple of pictures and they were fine. The amoled display in A5 was slightly better than this but hey, this is just me being picky for the heck of it. I would just keep this 250 $ phone atleast another 3 years if it comes along. Honestly there could be a zillion phones on the market but with this budget and going samsung you won't regret.

Love Samsung – I love my Samsung phone, it's easy to use photos come out clear in day or night photos. I am very happy with the durability of the photo my granddaughter has dropped my phone heaps of time and the screen has not broke neither the frame, I use it for looking up things on the Web, play games ,take photo's and video's and obvious calls and messaging and also with chromcast works perfectly. Apps run with no problem. I will never change my phone brand
Very good phones fast download – Camera is great and actually better at night time, I use my phone for everything ex- calls text banking and online shopping and just about everything I do is on my phone Show details
Amazing product! What else can I say? – Used to have an iPhone before for so many years, but let me tell you: Samsung beats iPhone in so many levels! It's way longer battery life, cheaper to use (almost all the apps you can find and use for free!!!), storage options such as memory cards, camera shots you name it! From. Now on its a Samsung only! Worst phone I have ever used – Samsung A11 without a doubt the worst phone i have ever had the misfortune of using. It cost me $300.00 aud. Fingerprint sensor is woeful. Incredibly slow to the point of frustration . Never seen a phone that lags so much. I can't hangup calls and sometimes I can't answer calls because of the lag. Incredibly slow to boot. Camera is pathetic… Read more
especially the front one. Samsung fill it up with all their bloatware which makes it even slower. Face recognition doesn't work. For these reasons I will never buy another Samsung phone. The only good this is its using android 12, but hey I couldn't tolerate it anymore so I purchased a new phone. So much cheaper and so much better in every way. If you choose to roll the dice and buy a Samsung Phone, I wish you well, but really with all the quality phones on the market ask yourself, do you really need the frustration. I have never had to retire a phone that is current.

P.O.S – Don't ever buy this phone, it sucks, if I could give it a 0 stars I would because it is so laggy and so slow. little toy phones you buy for your five year old works better than this phone. Plus the camera sucks on this phone, you'd have a better picture by using a rotary phone, and those can't even take pictures. But if you want a phone slower than watching paint dry, that lags like crazy and has a terrible camera then by all means buy this phone. From my perspective, it is the worst phone you could possibly buy.

Performance not good after 12 months – 12-18 months later problems started. The camera has slowed so much that I have to hold the camera still for 5 seconds for it to process the image. button multiple times to answer a call. Battery is fine, I have excess memory available but its performing very poorly. Tried deleting apps, including emails to bring the number of apps down to a minimum but nothing works. I thought the cheaper price was for the smaller storage capacity but it feels like the processor is low rate compared to the premium Samsung models.
Rubbish – I love Samsung and have had three S series. I bought this A11 as a back up work phone when funds were limited. Worst thing I did. The best analogy is the A11 is like an 80's chip in a 2022 computer. Laggy as. Camera quality doesn't exist. I do not recommend buying it. Show details
worst phone ever – Worst phone ever purchased . wont allow you to search the current year websites ,does not update , all features on the phone cannot be used , worst $159 spent . never will purchase a samsung again Show details
It services my needs – Purchased October 5, 2020. -Finger print scanner is unreliable, though that wasn't unexpected. -It is relatively slow to change between apps. And rarely (less than 10 times since I bought it) apps have quit themselves. -I use it sparingly so for me the battery lasts 3 days. -A google account needs to be tied to it in order for it to work but… Read more
that's a problem with android not the phone. -Camera quality is good. -Often says there is no SIM inserted but I think that could be a network (Telstra) problem with reception.
Edit: The SIM not being detected is a known error in Samsung A11's. Fixing it was so annoying I'm removing a star from my previous review

Good basic phone – I think my A5 is better than the A11 in that the A5 has the 'Always on Display' feature - this is where the Date, Time, % life, Messages received icon, show while the phone is on sleep mode. The A11 does not have this feature. Other than this, they seem comparative. Show details
Does the job – I'm not one of those people who changes phones regularly and I usually just make do with the hand-me-downs from my wife but when my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 suffered the green screen of death and the Galaxy S8+ hand-me-down had an issue, I needed a quick and cheap replacement and this was it. work properly so this has become my daily use phone and frankly, there's nothing I can fault with it.
I don't take a lot of photos so it's mostly calls, texts and messages with the occasional web browsing session to look something up.
It does all of that fine. The camera isn't overly intuitive to use but the picture quality is good enough for my purposes although the low light performance doesn't seem as good as the Note 4.
It's smaller and lighter than the Note 4 (or S8 for that matter) and it's comfortable to use. About the only real negative is that the speaker volume isn't loud enough for hands free use.
Excellent phone – Purchased at Officeworks $199. (Now $177). Does everything needed. Very satisfied, Cant go wrong for a budget phone, dont understand the negative reviews. Why spend 1-2k . (Perhaps camera quality could be better). Show details
A Parallel Import From Target – Bought a new Samsung A11 from Target Online. Tried to register it with Samsung and found out it was a parallel import from Togo Africa. It's pretty good value to be honest, Update Nov 2021 – I purchased the A11 about a year ago and at first it was hard to use but in time I found it ok, I nearly gave up as I just couldn't get my head around the whole new system compared to my old S6. I understand anyone out there that has got frustrated at first because I did but over time found it easy to use, just give it time. For less than $200 new… Read more · 2
I think it's quite a good unit and to be bold I think it's up there with other expensive makes and models, all the negative reviews are most likely from impatient people expecting a Ferrari from a Lada when to be honest it doesn't lag that much really and the camera is okay the trick is to hold the phone still for a couple of seconds after the shot is taken, it really is good value and how people pay hundreds if not thousands for other phones is beyond me. So in my view I really feel it's a good phone and is great value.
Calls cut in and out – Worst phone ever calls cut in and out constantly, people cant hear me, 3 out of 4 pics blurred one day it will call a number the next day it wont without entering an area code, some days just wont ring at all. first time suggesting to keep phone on 3g network or to turn mobile data off. Unfortunately even with mobile data off the calls are still poor quality and frustrating the other person.
Looks like phone is using voLTE calls (HD over 4g internet) but only works if the other callers phone is compatible (and has 4g reception). I'm in Perth so heaps of places without 4g mobile data.
