Satisfied customer – I find the phone easy to use. I don't understand all of the features, but as a Male. 63yoa. I have enough. I'm very satisfied with durability and display brightness. Camera quality is very good. As gardener/general maintenance, it is invaluable to record my work or reference when purchasing hardware/building products etc. Show details · 1
Pls dont buy this prodcut unless it is for 1 use – In my 3 year of using the phone it has so many times been a problem and the phone battery is especially the only saving grace including the camera, the phone is slow and really bad, apps are slow and are so laggy on the phone and when i got it fixed and somehow got even slower with the additonal that the phone is so slow that it starts to bug with… Read more
wallpapers and the phone has a tedious storage with it only being 32 gb with an iphone 5 have 64 and a 6-7 having almost 100, pls reconsider if you are gonna buy this phone as it has really left a sour taste as it has constant problems,
Terrible phone! – Only good thing about this phone is its battery life, however, the user experience is so poor you still don’t want to use it. Terrible keyboard, seriously, it’s infuriating to use. Slow performance makes me nostalgic for old dial up internet.

My bad, my redemption – I regret writing all that rubbish below about the A20, I ended up getting used to it and did fall in love with it. Four years on and I bought another Samsung phone AO5s. I still use my A20 but only as a second phone. All Samsung phones are great, I just can't get away from them. I've tried using other phones, including an iPhone but can't for the… Read more · 3
life of me work them out so I just sell them or give them away. Samsung is actually the easiest phone to use. So, sorry for the not so good review I gave earlier, my stupidity, I just had to learn how to keep up with the times, I've learnt my mistake the hard & expensive way, not to buy any other phone but a Samsung from now on. I'm now in search for my 5th Samsung phone in 25 years, just goes to show how long they last.
I'm not as happy as I thought I'd be, I've had my old Galaxy S5 for four years and was hoping that the A20 would be similar & as easy to figure out. I'm not happy with the alarm, the way you don't get an on going reminder of a missed text, message or missed call & it has the worst ring tones, it's a bit complicated so I need to get some help to show me how to use it, I don't think the manual explains everything I think that Samsung just expects you to know certain things. I still can't figure out how to move my icons around to where I want them. Though the camera is very good & the apps all run smoothly, I was more happy with my old S5 than the new A20

Display issues – Upon purchasing my new phone I returned home with my box, as I turned the phone on it was glitchy but I just thought because it's a new phone hey it might be ok. Well 2 days after this the screen wouldn't turn on. I took it back to the JBHIFI store I purchased. The guy got it to turn on and half the screen was black and the other half with green… Read more
glitchy lines. Told me I was entitled to a refund etc went to the counter and was transferred to a different person. Long story short they refused to refund the phone until it had been sent to Samsung. I sent the phone myself to Samsung in which the guy told me that there was a chip in the LCD. I myself can not find any fractures etc nor can my family members. I have been contacting jbhifi for 4 weeks with still no resolution. With this said I got a quote from a mobile screen repair place and to fix the screen is $260. Which is the price of the phone.

Love my A20 Galaxy Samsung! – I have had my A20 Galaxy Samsung phone over 2 years, I love it. No problems not even with missed calls in bad reception areas. It's a great phone. I got a refurbished one though, so I only payed 50.00 for it. Not bad at all for a great phone. Show details · 1
Quite good mobile. Wish they would have the option to remove some apps – * Reliable. * Excellent sound quality. * Quite happy with the mobile. * I wish their was an option with this phone to remove all google and Face book apps. * Excellent text. * Quite good camera, but has some distortion. * The instructions for this mobile is in the mobile. * I wish Samsung would make push button phones, as I prefer them to the smart phones.
I just love it – Never had a problem at all. I got since they came out to the market. I save a lot pictures, files and videos. Apps run ok, so far still the best for me. My husband upgraded his phone that comes after SGA20...which works with 5G and told me his phone is not good as mine. So far A20 still the best. Price is affordable. Show details

Never. Again – This is the first, and will be the very last samsung product I ever purchase. Constantly doing updates to add apps I never use, or asked for, and every update screws up the apps I do use and want, and every update costs me $AUD30. Show details

Brian Mthethwa – My 69 year old boss bought this A20 last year September 2020 after I recommended it because I have been using a Samsung smartphone for the past 6 and it has never disappointed me except for a battery life. Anyway, he wiped it with a wet cloth to sanitize it and it went off that very same night. Now to Samsung company: I know and I believe that this company can do better than this. I still believe in Samsung. (Johannesburg, South Africa) Show details
Avoid new update – I did love my A20. Avoid latest update as I have spent days trying to work my phone. Some apps can not be closed that give shops your location. Can remove but beyond my ability. Show details
Good budget phone – I've had this phone for almost a year and the only problems I've had is that it's slow to open apps. Camera is fine for what I need, speaker is fine, battery last for ages. For a cheaper phone I think it's great. I did have the water detected message i just changed the charging wire and it was fine. My phone has been dropped but screen has not cracked altho I do have a cheap screen protector. Overall not a bad phone. Show details
Ok phone BUT – to not pocket call someone you need to use a passcode but when you do trying to do a phone call with your ear on the phone is a nightmare. phone, otherwise it does not allow you to hang up. Or it simply does not disable the screen and you put people on hold. Battery does not last long either when using it for work.
Piece of slow junk – If the phone operated at an acceptable level, it would be good. Features are brilliant, just slow to respond. Never buy a Samsung again. My quad core is the faster. Show details
Not good – Screen cracked second day after purchase, put away for a year, took out again when my other phone battery dies, that was two weeks ago, button to turn phone on broken off. 4 weeks working in all, 300+ dollars and nothing for it. Show details
I can’t understand the bad reviews – I’ve had my A20 for about 12mths now and I’ve had none of the negative issues mentioned on this site, I think the phone is a ripper. I’m in a dark spot for mobile reception, with any make of phone. When I’m home I’m on WiF calling. Camera is great for the price of the phone. I love my A20 Show details
Samsung A20.. Complete crap. Do not buy – If I could rate the A20 as minus I would. We have had numerous phones over the years but by far this is the worst. Do Not Buy. Vodafone couldn't care less although the… Read more
manager tried to assist, Samsung even less concerned. I know they are the cheaper end of the market but it was interesting that Vodafone withdrew them from sale.
Like the phone but callers unable to hear – I use my phone primarily for calls and texts. The camera quality I have found to be reasonable. Particulary when at home, callers cannot hear me and i have to move to different parts of the house, or even outside. I have been sent many text messages which have not come through. These problems have never occurred before with other phones, and is… Read more
extrememely frustrating. I would love to have the issue fixed, but so far both the phone provider and the service provider have not been successful in fixing the problems. I do not have an issue with wifi or apps. Would love the phone to be more reliable.

I haven't experienced any of the problems I read in these reviews – I have no problems with the camera or display. I use my samsung for messaging and calling, for social media, I have several apps eg Vic emergency, BOM, Lens, Vic Gov QR reader most of the google apps, telstra and my other utility suppliers, . I have no trouble with my apps. Battery is fine. Charge it at night . Couldn't be happier Show details

A truely terrible phone – I accept that this was a budget friendly phone, but it really is truly terrible. Slow. Just very, very slow. Head bangingly frustratingly slow. But this thing is must utterly hopeless and both the Volvo and the SE seem like rockets in comparison. … Read more
Then there’s the whole moisture detected in the charge port thing. It did this to me on the first two weeks. Luckily I read online that there was a problem with the supplied charge cables and followed the suggestion to try another cable. Sure enough, no moisture problem, and it was hardly worth going through the sort of crap Samsung were going to make me jump through for them to supply a cable that ACTUALLY WORKS when I could buy one from just about anywhere. Now it is doing it again, I’ve followed the other reboot work around, but seriously, what a load of garbage.
The screen is totally unreadable in sunlight, the brightness adaption alternates between being way too dark to read anything inside to suddenly ramping up to flame-thrower mode and searing your eyeballs to the back of your skull.
The Samsung Pay app is insanely bad. It will suddenly spring an update on you without warning. So you are left standing in a supermarket queue with 20 angry shoppers glaring at you while you frantically download ANOTHER 120 MB update and wait an age for the snail-powered CPU to install the update before you can pay for all the groceries the checkout operator has scanned and packed into your bags. It does these updates on about a weekly basis it seems.
As for getting the pay app to actually work, you have to kind of strike a pose like the Statue of Liberty while holding the phone at right angles, rotating it and yourself in the opposite direction to Jupiter’s second moon , all the time sacrificing a chicken to some obscure god to get it to work at all.
After less than a year, I’m getting a new phone. And I will take this one outside and stamp on it until it is dust. (Which I will carefully collect and dispose of in an environmentally friendly way.)
And I will never, ever, ever buy a Samsung phone again.
waste of money – Camera good, display average, NFC, in every other samsung I used works with out a problem. I was told this A20 will read my Blood glucose monitor, I should have been more careful it will not read my Libre BGI with out issues. Moisture detect- phone 4 months old STAY CLEAR – Phone purchased in May 2020, paid $299. On June 15 I contacted Samsung, and told them about 'moisture detect' problem. to take phone to Samsung shop front, (paid for parking, SD card to save info $49). I got a call today saying phone has moisture detect problem and needs a total of $300 of repairs- AT MY EXPENSE- as moisture is NOT covered by warrenty. HOWEVER, I have not subjected my phone to moisture. I believe the humidity??? may be the cause. And to top it off- They want me to pay $66 for inspection fee and then will return my unfixed phone. I wish I had never purchased this phone. Taking this matter to ACCC.

Stay clear buy different brand – Bought it almost a year ago, what a waste of money. I have the same problem with phone calls, it puts callers on hold then say RESUME CALL. It does this due to screen staying on during calls. Then to top off with a faulty phone i received terrible service from a Samsung female team member in store. Pocket dials emergency services 000 – I purchased this phone for my son and is faulty in my opinion. It unlocks in his pocket and some how he has managed 2 times to call 000 or emergency services whilst its in his pocket and he is at school. figure out. We have as a result turned off the phone and switched to an iPhone. Happy to send phone to Samsung to figure out what is happening as it should not be able to dial 000 or emergency in someone's pocket. Yesterday when the police turned up to school to check he was okay they looked at the device and the police officer was able to unlock the phone without jonathans face or fingerprint which should not happen. The school was great about it and asked him to take the phone to the IT guys to see what was happening. They could not figure it out either, however by rubbing on leg replicated the issue. It does have a minor crack in the screen due to these phones having terrible screens that are easily cracked, however this cracked in the first week of him owning it and we put it in the best case we could buy and put on a screen protector. The cracks did not change since then. I have since read that the screens are very fragile. He said it cracked in his back pocket from sitting on it. I have no idea how this is happening and how big of an issue it is with the phone, but it should never be able to dial emergency services in someone's pocket.
