Good budget phone
I've had this phone for almost a year and the only problems I've had is that it's slow to open apps. Camera is fine for what I need, speaker is fine, battery last for ages. For a cheaper phone I think it's great. I did have the water detected message i just changed the charging wire and it was fine. My phone has been dropped but screen has not cracked altho I do have a cheap screen protector. Overall not a bad phone.

Ok phone BUT
to not pocket call someone you need to use a passcode but when you do trying to do a phone call with your ear on the phone is a nightmare. It does not matter how many times you go into your settings to disable the screen while taking calls, you get either off one situations the display is in fact black but to end the call you need to unlock the phone, otherwise it does not allow you to hang up. Or it simply does not disable the screen and you put people on hold. Battery does not last long either when using it for work.
Piece of slow junk
If the phone operated at an acceptable level, it would be good. Features are brilliant, just slow to respond. Never buy a Samsung again. My quad core is the faster.
Purchased in March 2020 at Vodafone for $249.00.
Screen cracked second day after purchase, put away for a year, took out again when my other phone battery dies, that was two weeks ago, button to turn phone on broken off. 4 weeks working in all, 300+ dollars and nothing for it.

I can’t understand the bad reviews
I’ve had my A20 for about 12mths now and I’ve had none of the negative issues mentioned on this site, I think the phone is a ripper. I’m in a dark spot for mobile reception, with any make of phone. When I’m home I’m on WiF calling. Camera is great for the price of the phone. I love my A20

Samsung A20.. Complete crap. Do not buy
If I could rate the A20 as minus I would. We have had numerous phones over the years but by far this is the worst. Do Not Buy. I complained numerous times to Samsung and Vodafone that our 2 phones would not work in our area and numerous other areas. As far as I am concerned they are not fit for purpose. Vodafone couldn't care less although the manager tried to assist, Samsung even less concerned. I know they are the cheaper end of the market but it was interesting that Vodafone withdrew them from sale.

Like the phone but callers unable to hear
I use my phone primarily for calls and texts. The camera quality I have found to be reasonable. Particulary when at home, callers cannot hear me and i have to move to different parts of the house, or even outside. I have been sent many text messages which have not come through. These problems have never occurred before with other phones, and is extrememely frustrating. I would love to have the issue fixed, but so far both the phone provider and the service provider have not been successful in fixing the problems.
I do not have an issue with wifi or apps. Would love the phone to be more reliable.

I haven't experienced any of the problems I read in these reviews
I have no problems with the camera or display. I use my samsung for messaging and calling, for social media, I have several apps eg Vic emergency, BOM, Lens, Vic Gov QR reader most of the google apps, telstra and my other utility suppliers, . I have no trouble with my apps. Battery is fine. Charge it at night . Couldn't be happier
Don't buy this phone!
This phone will make your eyes see double if you use it for reading or writing ... Not worth losing your eyesight over a phone whatever you do; Do not buy this phone.

A truely terrible phone
I accept that this was a budget friendly phone, but it really is truly terrible.
Slow. Just very, very slow. Head bangingly frustratingly slow. I’m no speed freak, I drive a bl—dy Volvo and I traded this thing for a four year old IPhone SE. But this thing is must utterly hopeless and both the Volvo and the SE seem like rockets in comparison.
Then there’s the whole moisture detected in the charge port thing. It did this to me on the first two weeks. Luckily I read online that there was a problem with the supplied charge cables and followe...d the suggestion to try another cable. Sure enough, no moisture problem, and it was hardly worth going through the sort of crap Samsung were going to make me jump through for them to supply a cable that ACTUALLY WORKS when I could buy one from just about anywhere. Now it is doing it again, I’ve followed the other reboot work around, but seriously, what a load of garbage. The screen is totally unreadable in sunlight, the brightness adaption alternates between being way too dark to read anything inside to suddenly ramping up to flame-thrower mode and searing your eyeballs to the back of your skull. The Samsung Pay app is insanely bad. It will suddenly spring an update on you without warning. So you are left standing in a supermarket queue with 20 angry shoppers glaring at you while you frantically download ANOTHER 120 MB update and wait an age for the snail-powered CPU to install the update before you can pay for all the groceries the checkout operator has scanned and packed into your bags. It does these updates on about a weekly basis it seems.

I now have a range of issues which means I am back to using a phone I do not like. I have wasted a lot of time & money on this phone with out any clear answers, now i am told the phone is locked so I i am having trouble unlocking it. The retailer is attempting to help, Only i am at a stand still. I am hoping the replacement model I hear about is available to replace the A20, Also

Camera has it's good and bad moments. System UI considerably slowing down. Issue regarding water detection when charging. After 11 months, I am satisfied but not amazed by this phone.
Literally the worst phone you will ever own
The phone says it has 3GB but if you close all the apps then check memory used; it says 2.1GB used.
If you have a single app opened the UI lags like crazy, if you have no apps opened it still lags worst than any other phone you have owned.
Garbage, don't even bother
So after a year of owning this phone it has had an issue with the microphone it won't work on voice recorder and can't answer calls unless its on speaker phone even if its connected to bluetooth headphones but the microphone works when recording video, Auto correct is horrible favouring gibberish words over actual words and every update had made it worse like it has to be taught how to spell words again over and over. if I have it in my pocket and its raining it gets the moisture detected warning and needs resetting. and now it's having issues with not charging it'll be left on charge all night only half charged by morning.

The worst smartphone I ever had
I always had S series phones, never had any issues. Since I have this piece of sxxx I wish I didn`t have a phone at all. Slow, unreliable, storage is always full and you have no idea what takes it up. Worst purchase I ever made.
Loved this phone but exactly a year old the speaker has stopped working on calls
Still loud on YouTube and ring tone. I'm eldery and hard of hearing so left devastated. Hoping the retail shop of purchase can help

Moisture detect- phone 4 months old STAY CLEAR
Phone purchased in May 2020, paid $299. On June 15 I contacted Samsung, and told them about 'moisture detect' problem.
Contacted them again in August with Volume control not working, they told me I would have to bring the phone in for repair. (I chose to take phone in rather than sending in, as turn around time seemed faster). Drove over an hour to take phone to Samsung shop front, (paid for parking, SD card to save info $49).
I got a call today saying phone has moisture detect problem and needs a total of $300 of repairs- AT MY EXPENSE- as moi...

Stay clear buy different brand
Bought it almost a year ago, what a waste of money. I have the same problem with phone calls, it puts callers on hold then say RESUME CALL. It does this due to screen staying on during calls. Then to top off with a faulty phone i received terrible service from a Samsung female team member in store. Very disappointment with the experience of Samsung. Will not be buying that brand any more.

Pocket dials emergency services 000
I purchased this phone for my son and is faulty in my opinion. It unlocks in his pocket and some how he has managed 2 times to call 000 or emergency services whilst its in his pocket and he is at school. It is definitely not deliberate and the 000 responder can clearly hear its a pocket dial, however how it is happening we have not been able to figure out. We have as a result turned off the phone and switched to an iPhone. Happy to send phone to Samsung to figure out what is happening as it should not be able to dial 000 or emergency in someone...'s pocket. Yesterday when the police turned up to school to check he was okay they looked at the device and the police officer was able to unlock the phone without jonathans face or fingerprint which should not happen. The school was great about it and asked him to take the phone to the IT guys to see what was happening. They could not figure it out either, however by rubbing on leg replicated the issue. It does have a minor crack in the screen due to these phones having terrible screens that are easily cracked, however this cracked in the first week of him owning it and we put it in the best case we could buy and put on a screen protector. The cracks did not change since then. I have since read that the screens are very fragile. He said it cracked in his back pocket from sitting on it. I have no idea how this is happening and how big of an issue it is with the phone, but it should never be able to dial emergency services in someone's pocket.

Questions & Answers
We have an A20 phone and are restoring a backup from Samsung cloud. We have a back up of the old "memos" from a dead S6. And we have downloaded SNote successfully onto the a20. However in the settings of SNote there is no option to "Sync with Samsung cloud". the option is just not there at all. Is this app just incompatible with the A20?
I suggest you go to a Samsung outlet in person, ask them to either do the job or to detail you the answer. I had no end of probs with my A20 so much so I got rid of it when less than 6 weeks old. Samsung were helpful to a point but very slow to get back. . Depending on your location the Samsung stores I know of are George St Sydney, Westfield's Penrith. The repair shops are expensive & reluctant to get to involved.
is it 5G ?
Hey Wayne. Unfortunately, the A20 model does not support 5G. Please see our current range of devices that support 5G through the link below:
