great watch and happy with all the extras – great watch and happy with all the faces and apps that it comes with. The only problem i had was the charger. my charger broke and it took me like 2 months to find the right charger and the cheapest was $90. it had to be a certain charger. Show details
Not a long life watch – This watch is probably just over 2 years old and in the past month it has decided to go off track and flash all different crazy colours and text. You need to reboot the watch to get it back to normality and this can occur 2-3 times per day. Watch was around $350+ when new. Took it to the Samsung shop in Sydney CBD only to be told that it can be… Read more
sent off for repair but as I didn't have a receipt anyhow out of warranty the cost to send is $60 plus the service etc, which could equate to the purchase price of a new watch. No wonder the warranty isn't 2 years as Samsung couldn't take the risk. So I now have a dud watch and I couldn't believe I was asked if I'd like to look at a new one.
Not the best smart watch I thought it's gonna be – Very fragile. Mentioned as water resistant and can monitor almost all of your sport activities. But it's all lie. Got wet inside with my own sweat while wearing it during exercise. The watch monitor just went flickering after a week or so. Never got wet with water and never got dropped as well. Decent watch but lacks some features compared to Android watches – I love the watch, but i wish it had google assistant in it in stead of svoice from samsung. Svoice is quite useless. but over all it is a solid watch with good features and health tracking, i would recommend it :) Show details

Unrepairable 9 days out of warranty – We purchased this watch for $595 on 31/7/18 as a gift for our son who is a volunteer fire fighter in the NT. He also travelled to NSW and Qld to help relieve the exhausted local firies there in the recent horror season they had. The compass can be a life saver when he is surrounded by heavy smoke. However, we had to send it back for warranty 3… Read more
times. The first time was for low battery life and connectivity issues. The second time was for the same issues - which resulted in complete replacement of internal the mechanism, including motherboard and battery. This last time the heart monitor no longer worked. Samsung sent it back with a cracked back glass, no buckle on the strap and said it had water ingress, and nonviable for repair. Also mentioned it was 'very worn'. Of course the blame for the cracked back glass is on us! This watch is a lemon. Samsung couldn't care less, even after escalating our complaint. So if you are thinking you are buying "the strong and premium stainless steel favored by traditional watchmakers that give the Gear S3 the durability it needs to take on some of the most adventurous outdoor activities" as Samsung advertise - save your money and look elsewhere. Peak fire season here in the NT - and the lifesaving tool we purchased for our son to help keep him safe while he keeps our community safe doesn't work. Will never purchase another Samsung product in our lifetimes.
Good build quality, lacking some features – The bezel and buttons feel very sturdy, and offer a nice, easy way to navigate the menus. Battery life is good, lasting about 3-4 days before charging (takes about 2 hours to fully charge) Sleep tracking is the main reason I purchased, and so far it has done that flawlessly. It syncs to samsung health on my galaxy phone and gives me every bit of… Read more · 1
sleep tracked with good accuracy (based on when I know I've woken up during the night).
It does come a bit cluttered with some apps, and the app store for downloads isn't particularly large. Mostly full with similar apps for timing, lighting etc. it would also be useful to have quick launch buttons similar to smartphones to go directly to stopwatch, timer or calculator etc. As far as I can tell, there is also no in-built option to use the watch as a remote for the phone camera (there are some paid apps that seem like they would do it though).
All in all, hardware wise the watch is sturdy and well built. No lagging or connectivity issues as there is always a strong bluetooth connection with my phone (have to walk a few metres away from my phone before it disconnets). Software could use some updates and better features.
A watch to do it all – As a lover of watches and technology, the release of the Samsung Galaxy Frontier Smart Watch got me. Once home the watch was unpacked from its round box. The watch well protected and all accessories underneath. The main part being the charging dock and USB lead. As expected, the watch had some charge, but I fully charged it to make sure. That was… Read more
less than an hour, so away I went.
Setup is similar to getting a new phone. The exception being you also connect by Bluetooth to your phone. That done, about 15 minutes it was time to play.
As a part of the setup, you will install the watch companion, which also links to the watch version of the play store.
Interacting with the watch is very simple. Two buttons, menu and back. Add to that the rotating bezel, which is a major player for using the watch.
So, just what can it do? Really, anything your phone can. Make/recieve/send calls, SMS, respond to Messenger and read/reply to email, if that suits you. I have alerts to breaking news near me.
Games are available on the watch, but these are limited by screen size, memory etc. But they are there.
The ability to use it as a 'tap & go' card, saves having to get your wallet or purse out. This is a major use I got the watch for.
Naturally, the watch tells time, has the usual calendar, alarm functions. Add to this the ability to store and play music, the watch does do it all.
*A note here that my 4 star rating is due solely to this issue. Playing music etc is very draining on the battery. As little as 2 hours! The same applies to some notifications, hence why I turned off messenger and some other apps.
On the subject of charging, it does charge quickly. Under an hour will get you through most of the day. I charge mine each night. The charging dock is a pleasure to use, no fiddly lining pins up, it is just sat there and uses induction charging.
After almost 12 months, the screen has stood up very well to everyday use. It hasn't scratch yet . . .
The band's supplied are very robust. You are able to buy different styles/colours to mix and match. Attaching/detaching bathe band's is very easy, but ensures a very secure hold when worn.
The watch is able to handle being underwater up to 1.5m for 30 minutes, but not designed for swimming or diving. I have absentmindedly jumped in the shower a few times and had zero I'll effect.
For those on the go, the watch has built-in GPS, so maps work even without your phone, an SOS function, to alert contacts that you need help.
It has an altimeter, barometer and speedometer!
For my planned and subsequent use, the Samsung Frontier Smart Watch is exceptional.
I would highly recommend the Samsung Frontier Smart Watch for those who like tech, want a rugged, yet stylish watch that can save them time and look.good doing so.
Oh and nothing beats having people stare as you take a call on your watch in a supermarket.

Fantastic watch, great value and funtions – Really great watch, the rotating bezel makes it easy to navigate and use. I purchased the LTE version to make calls. No issues with sound and great clarity. Also works great for fitness and tracking steps. Only con I would say is that it is slightly heavy for a watch but apart from that a great purchase. very useful – i have been using this watch for almost 3 years now. since i had it, i never use any of my watch anymore. it is just so useful when i am busy and didnt know i have meetings and my phone was on silent, i can feel on my wrist that my watch is vibrating and because of that, i won't miss any meetings. Great Watch, Changed my life – Great watch, Have had it for 2 years and no real issues comfortable rubber band on it light weight so barely able to notice it love that you can do everything from take calls to receive messages and reply The voice recognition system on it is great, not as good as a phone. can get LOTS of features with it and face watches for both free and app purchases Show details · 1

Good product pity the band loops failed – I purchased a Samsung gear s3 frontier watch brand new approx 2 years ago. The watch has its moments where it lags to work but overall it has been good. However the 2 small loops to pass the watch band under when you put it on have started to tear. I contacted Samsung customer care today only to be cut off twice and their resolution was to take… Read more
the watch into Samsung retailer for assessment of the product. When I explained to the lady that it was only the 2 straps that were the problem I was told to back up the watch because it would need to be reset. I advised her that the watch band has nothing to do with the need to factor rest the watch. I was then told to install Samsung members app onto the phone to put in a complaint and when the app started to throw errors and would not let me continue I was cut off. This is a shame and I would like to get a response from Samsung about this.
Very good when it works – This watch is fantastic when it operates as intended. Once it stops working it's a cascade of errors. The sensors stopped working, so no heart rate monitor, atmospheric pressure, or altimeter. The cost of repair is the same as the purchase price, so now looking for another brand that will last longer than 2 years. Show details
Accused of damaging watch, on 4th repair within a warranty period – The first and second repairs were due to the short battery life, they couldn't do it right the first time so it had to be done again, the 3rd time was due to the system crashing. The 4th time I put the watch for repair, because the system crashed again, however the repair centre informed me/accused that I had created a hole the size of a pinhole… Read more
through the back of my watch, which lead to water damage (did not tell me how ). I also went to the department of fair trade, to no avail. All this happened within the warranty period. I'm loving this but their are glaring problems – Brilliant, but it still relies on your mobile to be on. This is meant to be a stand alone device. I can only assume that didnt' work for Telstra and Optus, so they tether them to something they can actually charge money for... a $1400 phone. Not good enough. Show details · 1
Bad battery life – The S3 is a great watch with all the usual features, but mine is now 12 months old and needs to be charged every night compared to every third when new. Show details · 1
Great Smartwatch! – Not the easiest set up but once done at the start, the watch is really good. Premium box and accessories also included. The watch is really nice looking but kind of big. Heaps of apps and downloadable programs which make it really good in the customization area. A bit on the heavier side but its still fine to wear. Easy to get around to the apps and all. Overall a great watch!
Decent Smartwatch – Good Smartwatch. Really easy to navigate and good software. Can customize really well. The Smartwatch is rather big but the watch has a really good performance. Heaps of apps also available from the app for games etc. Worth the money but not for kids as the face is quite large!
I do not leave home without it – I was lucky enough to be gifted this watch when it was first released but now in having used it for the past couple of years, I would have been more than happy to purchase it. Wearing it everyday to my job as a Fitness trainer, it still looks brand new and I cannot live without it.
So far so good – I have purchased 2 of these watches and so far they are working well. My husband's was to replace a Fitbit Blaze and he loves that it does the same things but so much more. The only difference being that he would wear his fitbit to bed to track his sleep but the Samsung is too bulky. I have to admit I'm happy about that as the fitbit flashed all… Read more
night! My son uses the most functions on his and loves the fact that he can customize the face and also pay with it.
The watches are very sturdy and screen protectors can be purchased online for a reasonable price (third party). Battery life seems good. Purchased both heavily discounted - not sure if I would pay the full rrp.
Absolutely Love It – I have had this watch for 2 years now, it is great and can be paired with any smart phone, including apple. Strange I know, the only issue is you can’t access some of the functions such as Samsung pay when paired with a different brand smart phone. Show details
Samsung wont repair my S# Frontier – Purchased my Samsung in April 07 so my watch is out of warranty. It has started to lock up and die. Wear it daily fantastic device – Great product, have had it close to 2 years now and wear it everyday, apart from the wheel bezel starting to get little grippy, i have had no problems. its great with music and notifications, Samsung offers a variety of applications and themes so that you never get sick of the watch face. Don’t Update Software – Worked great for 2 weeks but then I made the mistake of updating the software when I was prompted. else that might be draining the battery. I loved the look of the S3 and was happy with the limited functionality with the IPhone, but looks like I will have to make the move to Apple Watch.

Better than the Apple Watch – I have had the Huawei Watch 1, then changed to an Iphone and got the Apple Watch 2nd series. All I can say is that the Samsung trumps these watches. It looks awesome and has so many features. The beauty of this watch and similar watches is the flexibility in changing things such as the straps, apps and watch faces. Something which is limited on the Apple Watch. I highly recommend this watch Show details
Fragile as egg shells – I received My Samsung S3 Frontier as a birthday gift. As an avid watch collector my family was stumped as to what to get me, so they opted to get me this Samsung. from alarms to watch faces, adding apps, its speed and fantastic rotating bezel is very clever, but it has a dark side, one that should not have even been employed into its design, and that is its rear glass back. The rear glass back is super fragile, and when i mean fragile, i mean as fragile as egg shells. Seriously. The rear is prone to cracking and I believe mine cracked on the charging cradle. I have owned for less than a month after feeling harsh scratching on my wrist to only discover that is was fractured from the center out. It appears to me that the charging diodes/points on the rear glass expand beyond the limits of the glass. Sadly JB Hi Fi was fast to blame me for dropping it. I explained i dont even ware the watch outside, i have real watches for that, and if it is that fragile, other buyers should be aware how fragile it is. JB HiFi extended warranty is also useless, so dont buy from JB. Buyer be ware, thats all i can say.

Great looking watch but not worth – Bought this as a gift for my brother. Overall he is very happy with it. It looks great and has many features. There are many faces to choose from. The rotating bezel is a smart design by Samsung. However, the battery life is pretty average. Need to charge it almost everyday. Show details
One of the Best Smart Watches Around – Update: 09/09/2024: still going strong --------------------- 2019 I really do believe its one of the best, great looks, functions, and even a good 3 days of battery life. nice watch faces from Samsung and loads more on the store. from the watch and talk to the grandparents via it. The smart pay features are great, its just a shame that some of the banks don't allow usage of all their cards. Its also a shame its not properly water proof, i.e. you cant go swimming with it, its just splash proof and dust proof.
I like that it has many different apps mostly the Samsung ones I like as they are what I use, timers, weather, alarms, reminders, calendar, stopwatch, music control etc. There are also some really good aftermarket apps.
its quite clever to correctly recognise, walking, running, cycling etc, and there is even a Samsung app to show what speed you are doing.
Love the bezel design to be able to rotate through the functions as well as being touch sensitive.
Again, I am extremely happy with the purchase, features and design.

The watch is ok but very limited in what it can do – Samsung customer relations is a total disgrace. The chat line are unable to answer simple questions. On the phone you get through to the Philippines who are worse than useless. Do not buy via Samsung, If you have a problem their customer service is worse than useless. The watch is very limited in what it can do, and the customer service outfit do not wish to help Keep well away Show details

Good smartwatch if thats what you are after – No major issues with this smartwatch, battery life is solid, interface is convenient, a little bit thick on the wrist but is fairly stylish and have no issues with performance. Only real issue is with the functionality itself, don't tend to get much use out of this other than checking notifications and even then, is much easier to get my phone out and reply. Show details
Almost perfect!! – After owning a couple smartwatches, including Sony Smartwatch 3 which is a great watch, S3 Frontier is even a greater watch. unnecessary. So here the plus:
- Bright LCD even under the sun
- Great battery life in general BUT very inconsistent
- Great free watchfaces
- Sports function are great
The low side:
- Battery can sometime chewed up from 100% to 10% within 4 hours. I concluded this was when WiFi is on and not connected to any AP despite it's in Auto mode. I believe the watch was scanning all the time.
- GPS is also very inconsistent. Time it takes 15 - 30 minutes to lock position. After reading a forum, it turned out that the weather feature S Gear app on the phone was the root cause. Simply remove any location weather on S Gear and GPS lock position in less 20 seconds.
- Samsung support team didn't even know about this and insisted I factory reset the watch which I did and then ask me to take it back to Samsung service center, not very impressed at all.
best smartwatch i've had – I've used quite a number of smart watches and by far the gear s3 tops them all. it was a gift from my wife last December and I've been wearing it everyday. i have an older garmin fenix 2 which i use for working around the house, the beach, etc. but for the office, the gear s3 is definitely on my wrist. it connects to my phone flawlessly. it… Read more
exchanges information pretty fast though i tend not to connect it all the time. love how the bezel turns and you can go through the menu. I've purchased only 2 watch faces on top of the those already in the s3. simply put, awesome watch which will stay with me for quite some time.
Great product! – Got this as a gift for Christmas. Didn't think I would use it much but have definitely enjoyed the fitness features and being able to see calls and messages. I'm usually really bad at answering calls on my mobile but this has helped. I also check my phone less overall. I like appearance of it, although it's pretty chunky on my arm. Overall, good product.
