Best Fridge I have ever owned – Cannot hear it - its quiet as a mouse, looks great and works really well. I have owned many fridges over time and found that most of them have little problems that bug you. This fridge has no issues that I can think of apart from the very bottom draw of the freezer doesn't open quite as far as I feel it should! But other than that - Brilliant and stays really cold! is too difficult to extract and I'm concerned that the handle and trays are going to break. It gets clogged with ice drips that then prevent the tray from slipping out properly. This tray design needs a major overhaul immediately.

then the ice build up and leaking has been constant. A towel has lived on our kitchen floor trying to contain the mess. Freezing eventually led to cracking of the freezer compartment doors. This model has been discontinued. If considering this model I strongly suggest you avoid.
One Month Followup – Well it is a month since I dismantled the freezer covers and removed the ice blocking the drain. Today I see water leaking again! So I will need to spend a couple of hours defrosting it again. No wonder this Samsung fridge was discontinued. Show details

to see that there isn't any dust etc build up in the air vent at the back and this checks out. I've attemped to unscrew the back to defrost as suggest on this forum which hasn't resolved the issue either. Each time I call Samsung about this, I am always told 'it's out of warranty so if a technician comes out and can't find an issue you'll be slugged with a call-out fee'. In hindsight, I wish we had never bought this fridge but went with my experience with their phones and televisions which are mostly good. This was my first Samsung kitchen appliance and it's just as a bad as the old freezers in the 80s where you'd need a hair dryer and ice pick.

don't open out and the number of times have had ice build up and water leaking, and had to manually defrost Fridge is considerable. My Fischer and Pykel lasted over 20 years. This is the second Samsung product that I have purchased which does not live up to Australian standards. I will never purchase another Samsung product... what I have learnt is that these problems are universal in this fridge and now they have stopped producing it I would not recommend any Samsung product and they do anything to not take responsibility

samsumg, like currently I got samsung tv, mobile and microbe too. But after I got problem I am not so much sure about samsung is it really a good choice. Now I just want to upgrade my tv with bigger screen and ofcouse my fridge, this time I will go with more reliable.

Great layout but sadly not lasted – Bought in 2013. The layout is great and very functional. Sadly like other Samsung owners have reported the bottom freezer ices up under the bottom drawer due to blocked outlet pipe and then melts and leaks. Has damaged my kitchen cabinetry which also has to be replaced. Had the technician spend hours unblocking it. Was fine for a couple of months… Read more
but problem is back as he predicted. Reading reviews on later models looks like they have not changed the fault with the pipe. Unfortunately will have to buy new fridge and will not be buying a Samsung again. Really frustrating as I was really happy with the layout of the fridge. Samsung have reached out to me but they could not come up with a permanent fix and only recommend another repairer. Perhaps we were one of the unlucky ones as not reported across all users. Besides this major issue the only design fault I would say is dirt and liquid can get caught at the bottom of the crisper and unable to clean or clear it out, or take it apart for cleaning. Which is why cleaning gets a 4 star.

Like all Samsung products its designed to break down – This fridge is no longer frost free I find it amazing that I have a 20 year old Fisher and Paykel fridge and a 5 year old Samsung fridge Guess which one still works? you're right its not the Samsung. Fridge cannot keep a consistent temperature – Fridge never keeps the right temperature in the fridge section. Set at 3 degrees but would sit between 5-8 degrees even after waiting 24 hours. Wouldn't Touch Another Samsung White Goods! – Awful, cheap product that is a very poor reflection on the manufacturer. The internal drawers in the fridge are brittle and break often. find the water had leaked while we were away. Not happy at all. We are just in warranty, luckily, but the annoying thing is we are without a fridge for a week as the only Samsung technician is on holidays until the new year. A real inconvenience! This is not something you expect with a fridge that was only purchased last year!

Terrible product...above and beyond customer service..well done Samsung – Two year old refrigerator, simply ceased to function without warning. overnight and on separate occasions, I keep getting a solid reading of between 4-5 degrees, depending on when the compressor kicks in. It never dropped below 4 degrees. The freezer compartment stayed a constant -18 degrees which is great. I had a Samsung tech come out and replace a control board in the back but I got the exact same results after the fix as I did before the fix.

Pretty good fridge – I bought this fridge in person from a store. Had it for a year and works just fine. I haven't had any issues with it. It's got enough room inside. Has the option of digitally controlling fridge and freezer's temperature. The only negative is that it's occasionally a bit loud but not enough to be annoying. Overall, I'm satisfied with it.
Absolute numerous headaches – I bought this fridge 450els under the impression it was a good solid unit. Within less then 5 months these thoughts had gone to this is a right joke. Don't buy one. I spoke to a service person at Appliancesonline who completely discredited Samsung and said they were the worst company to deal with for after sales service..I then asked why would you sell their products because all they do is bring your company into disrepute..answer, people still want to buy them. Worst fridge ever owned, worst service ever seen – I bought this fridge on 17/08/2014. It is under 60 days and I have a third technician visiting my house to look at the fridge. The issue is my freezer is in Arctic circle and fridge sits in Temperate zone..... effectively frozen things have so much extra ice depositing on it and the fresh veges go bad and moldy in 3 - 5 days. Harvey Norman and asked if this was normal. They said if it lasts for more than a week, probably not. Well after 6 days the noise stopped. Very occasionally it makes a humming sound (perhaps when the door is left open for too long), but 95% of the time it is perfectly silent. I love this fridge. The size is perfect, the freezer draws are great, the ice dispenser is awesome. I can't wait to see how it changes my energy bill. I would definitely recommend this fridge. Hopefully I will be able to give the same review in 2 years time!

said he couldnt find anything wrong, replaced some parts anyway and left. That was 2 months ago, and just now I have had guests again who have reported that the freezer does not freeze. Samsung are now saying that the delay in reporting it still didnt work means that another service call will have to be made. Again, I will probably have to wait 2 months for the service man to turn up (he does have to come from 90kms away). Reporting the problem is very difficult with the overseas call centre; they have no idea of the distances in regional Australia, nor of the special circumstances of a holiday rental house. Also, since yesterday fridge started to produce new sound - vacuum-cleaner-like or sirens-like sound, right after that rattling sound I mentioned. This sound lasts 2-4 seconds.

I find that I don't spend my time rummaging through the fridge as before trying to find stuff. The freezer compartments are big enough for our needs, I find the lower one a bit difficult to handle, but it's fine as I just use it for the bigger items like ice cream that are easily to locate. I like the little ice cube maker in the freezer compartment, intelligent solution to have a number of ice cubes always ready.
