Good day everybody out there, with the economy in the poor condition it is presently in every dollar counts and when you buy a product that isn't what it should be or there is a problem with it, you should report it to whichever company makes and supplies it, for their own benefit as well as a that of yourself and the general public. Over a period… Read more

of time I have contacted several companies due to the product either being faulty or not up to scratch and in most cases they have been happy to receive my complaint, dealt with it fairly and either replace the product to my satisfaction or refunded my hard earn spent on it, in some cases both. However not so, with the well-known Australian company Sanitarium. I purchased a box of Weet-Bix Wild Berry Bites, which are my go-to breakfast cereal from my local supermarket and unfortunately found (what I considered to be a hard sharp dangerous piece of plastic only small but very hard and sharp) in the mix when I took a spoonful from my breakfast bowl. Luckily for me I didn't swallow it or who knows what may have happened. Naturally I contacted the Help/Complaints Line and spoke to a delightful young lady who took all my details offered a couple of suggestions regarding the problem, which I virtually dismissed and advise me that she would send me an envelope to return the said Demon Plastic along with evidence of purchase, receipt, barcode etc. I received the envelope from Sanitarium in very good time and returned it in the same manner. A couple of weeks went bye and I eventually received a letter advising me that it wasn't plastic but infact glue, yes glue, use to stick the top of the box down. I immediately telephoned Sanitarium and spoke to a lady who got my file up on her computer and I explained that I found it was an impossibility for the glue, which is very very fine and nothing like the hard piece of plastic I had returned to them (I wish I hadn't now as it's gone) came from the top of the box into a sealed plastic bag containing the cereal. A question to which she had no answer. She again reiterated that it must have been glue from the top of the box as there was no other possibility, which I immediately dismissed. I then shot off an email to Sanitarium to which I never received a reply. Under normal circumstances I would have nothing further to do with a company that would treat you in such a shabby manner, (because in my opinion it was a blatant lie), no sorry we tried to terminate your existence, no it was unfortunate that the piece of plastic must broken off along the way somewhere, nothing. I still purchased the product because I do indeed enjoy it, however I take great care when opening the packet, not the box which has the glue on it and nothing to do with the actual cereal in sealed plastic and place the said cereal into a plastic container to keep it fresh and safe from the Plastic Fairies. A very disappointing response from the company who in my opinion should have given me a full refund for the box that I had bought, which I did consume, but for my trouble and what could have been a very serious health matter for me, bringing this matter to their attention so others, it could be you, wouldn't face the same possible fate as I almost did. Shame Shame Shame Sanitarium, Very Very Poor Service and if I still had the piece of plastic, I would be bringing it to the attention of the appropriate authorities as well as possibly taking legal action against the company. So be careful who you deal with and what you eat, till next time take care.

Soapy taste by chance – I bought x2 packs of Weetbix Apricot Bites from Rhodes Woolworth on 21-Jul-2024 (Sun). In one pack, a number of the chunks in the pack tasted bitter and soapy. I took a closer look at the weird chunks, and I found there were things like crystallised sugar attached on them. I haven't tried the other pack yet. I did a quick search online and… Read more

realised I wasn't the only one. There have been some people reported unexpected taste of "dish soap", "poison" or "toothpaste", which I found very accurate. Had bought one about a week before this incident, and that one tasted perfect. Looks like this problem is by chance but not so rare apparently. I have sent an email to customerrelations@sanitarium.com.au and see how it goes.

Intense unwanted flavour all of a sudden – There is definitely something going on with the taste / ingredients - especially the berry and apricot flavour. It’s so intense it’s like eating dish soap - the only one I haven’t experienced this is the honey flavour. It’s very intense and soapy and stops you eating. Something in the little fruit squares x Show details

Something wrong with the pack – I usually buy a pack of these weekly for my kids. But this latest pack has something wrong with it. My kids complaining it tastes like poison and spat out. Tastes more like toothpaste to me. Perhaps off berries??? Show details

Delicious! – This is my favourite breakfast cereal! After trying many cereals, I have definitely found a winner. I never used to eat breakfast until I started eating these again. I've been eating them on and off for years and now realise they are the best cereal for me. Most other cereals you need to add sugar of a sweetener to cover the bland taste, but with… Read more

Excellent – The previous reviewer consumed Weet-Bix Wild Berry Bites without milk. Whilst they have their own reasons for that, this is a sad state of affairs. Weet-Bix Wild Berry Bites really only comes into it's own when milk is added. Only then is it as good as a fruit of the forest yoghurt, only with the goodness of whole grains. Weet-Bix are cheap,… Read more

and Weet-Bix are healthy. Whilst these have always been pluses for Weet-Bix they have always had to fight against the fact that they are undeniably kind of boring. Weet-Bix Wild Berry Bites solves this problem, by making Weet-Bix considerably more exciting. Whilst it might be an exaggeration to say that it is akin to a boysenberry ice-cream, saying that is similar to a fruit of the forest yoghurt (always my favorite yoghurt) would not. It's always disappointing that, because of the shape of the Weet-Bix Wild Berry Bites, and the way they have fallen into the box, a significant portion of the contents of the box is air. Whilst this tends to mean that there is simply not enough in each box (a bad enough state of affairs in itself) one should also take into account the amount of cardboard that this is wasting.

Good – I bought the Weet-Bix Wild Berry Bites as more of a snack than a cereal as milk makes me feel ill. I loved the taste of these bite sized berry incrusted chunks of weet-bix. Eating them dry without milk was alright for the first week or so but after that the got really bland tasting plus they are really dry and crunchy. They are quite nice though… Read more

would be better with milk as they are susposed to be eaten with. Also the weet-bix part of these bites are not like normal weet-bix and are more dry, hard and rough. Really Yummy Crunchy Weet-Bix Bites.
