I've had this product for years and I love it – I cut my nails with clippers, then I smooth them off with the 3 attachments, of this product. It does a great job. I can't understand why the other reviewers don't like it. Being in my 70s, my fingernails have ridges in them. I find that the buffer does a great job to even them off. Show details

Waste of money – The first step of filing nail actually makes them worse. I need to redo them with a normal nail file as the motion makes nails catch on everything. I wouldn't recommend this for the price

Waste of Money – Should have read the reviews first.. Basically I bought this product to file my nails thin on my feet , but it only moves back and forth and is not strong enough to do the job. Very poor product

can't live without – Safe, easy to use and quick. Years ago I purchase a similar system from priceline and had to return it because of safety issues. Scholl has design this so that is slows down if im pressing too hard. This prevents it from rubbing too hard and burning my skin. Well done Scholl. I'm able to quickly file my nails and file away remove the dead skin.… Read more

I'm also able to use the buffering attachment to smooth my nails. I have heard in the past that buffering is better for my nails and promotes their growth.

I would have give it 5 stars, but I'm ANNOY that scholl makes me buy 3 new attachments if I need just a single one.

excellent product – I was hesitant in buying this product because of some reviews but lucky I didn't take much notice as I'm so glad I bought the electronic nail product as it did a beautiful job. As I have real nails it smoothed the nail better than an emery board. I would recommend it to anyone who knows what they are doing. Excellent product.

wonderful – I have very rigid nails and it works wonders on mine, needs a bit of practice and don't expect a change overnight, the only fault I do have the files do not last very long, but they are much better than a nail file.

Don't waste your money – Thankfully I did not pay money for this product. I received it as part of a gift bag with purchase from a pharmacy. I was excited to see it included as I had looked at buying it on a few occasions. I'm honestly glad I did not waste my money on this product. It is absolutely terrible! It makes your finger vibrate so much when using it you can't… Read more

actually see how you are filing your nail. Also you can only use the very edge of the file heads so it would wear out very quickly. It's definetly no more convenient over a traditional nail file.

Total waste if money!! – Useless! Completelly useless! Do not buy it! I does not polish at all, not even hand nails. I have a manual nail polisher that leaves the nail bright and shiny, school "velvet" does not polish at all. It does not have any power, stops anytime there is a bit of resistance or you push a bit on the nail to try to polish it. Siriously total waste tóf money!!

Best way to ruin your nails – I am very disappointed and found that it tore my nails, did not leave a smooth finish, with my nails hooking onto fabric and my nails feeling dry and "delaminated".

Wish I had read these reviews – Yes I got stung $35. This product showed such promise ie. the TV ads, but it does not file at all. It is totally useless.

Total rubbish!! – Does nothing! Seems like it has no power, even after replacing it with a heavy duty battery. Nail buffer does a better job! So disappointed cause I'm a scholl customer for over 25 years.

Total disappointment – I found this product rubbish and a total waist of money. I bought it to use on my toe nails and had high hopes but was very disappointed as it was so ineffective. Made no different's to my nails what so ever!!! However the Scholl Velvet smooth Nail care oil is fantastic, used daily that's all I needed as the oil made a huge difference's on the health and appearance of my nails.

Wow ?- what a disappointment – Very underwhelming and underpowered. Could not recommend this product and feel I've wasted my money - neither filing nor buffing heads are effective even on the highest setting; having tried them out I went out and bought a really good nail file. Very disappointed.

Wrecked my nails – Been using it 4few months , all my nails have split & peeled, it now has cost me $80 in treatments to revive them. The chemist said this is a common problem with this product, back to using a normal nail file.

It was useless.. waste of money – With new batteries the power was weak. It really had no effect on my toe nails at all.. it practically just bounced off them.. it felt like an electric tooth brush on nails.. it just tickled.. it certainly didn't file or smooth nails. Very disappointing. It wasn't a cheap product..don't buy this..

Rubbish. Do not buy this – This product is a load of RUBBISH. I bought this nail file buffer product for my thick toenails and it did NOT work one bit. Personally I think it did not work for me on my thick tails. Just go to your 2 buck shop and get a good nail filer which will do a much better job. Scholl should refund all their dissatisfied customer for useless product.

Waste of money..useless & not worth even $1 – Wish I had also reviewed this useless product before I bought it. It has no power and sounds like it is draining the battery down when using it. The 3 attachments will need replacing quiet regularly so it will be a very expensive nail care system in the long run.Extremely disappointing product from Scholl & I think they would be better off removing this product from their range. Would not recommend this product to anyone!

Rubbish – I received this as a gift and it is useless. Save your self some cash. This is expensive piece of rubbish. I agree with other comments. Very disappointed. I must say I did expect better from Scholl.

Expensive and not good value for money – I have emailed Scholl twice about this product that I bought last December and they don't even have the courtesy to reply. The 1 and 2 buffing attachments work quite well, however, the 3 does not last and if you're using the system on your finger and toe nails you'd barely get a week out of the Number 3. It just doesn't last. At $18 for the 3… Read more

attachments you could buy 2 buffing boards which would last way longer. The Nail Care system is expensive and not good value.

Terrible! Dear your money – Impact of using item is zero. Save your money. Nail file part doesn't file AT ALL. Other parts have minimal use but totally hopeless item. School could have done better.

Absolute rubbish – This device, yes the original, is as weak as water, any pressure on the nail stops it from working and if you file toe nails which are stronger, takes forever. I could sit with the buffer on my nails for hours and barely raise a shine and even then gone almost by next day. Save yourself lots of money and buy the Manicare nail buffer shaped like a… Read more

helicopter blade and it gives you the shines through finish ever in only few minutes, much quicker and actually works to a very high shine, don't buy this rubbish. The pedicure decide is much better, although I thought useless until the new courser replacement heads came out. You would think they trialled these before going into manufacture. (Yes Scholl, did watch the video on now to, doesn't help and replacement needs are way too expensive and don't last very long at all).

useless and not effective, complete wast of money – My wife bought this product from the chemist warehouse, she applied it according to the manual and youtube video. the results was tirrible, i couldnot see any difference or improvement. then we went to the chemist warehouse and asked for refund because the product does not do what is supposed to do, the chimest called the Scholl company and they… Read more

said they cannot do a refund because the system is not faulty and maybe we don't know how to use it!!!! then I came to this review website and realised that we are not the first victimes of this system.

last time she got the Scholl Velvet Smooth Wet & Dry Hard Skin Foot File and she was very happy with it and this is why she bought this product without checking the review..

This is like the ones one can buy for $2 from Dollar shops

Complete waste of money – As soon as i applied any pressure it stopped. Watched how to video didn't help. Had more success with four sided emery board. Tried a few times and ditched it. I would never buy from Scholl again this is a complete con.

Scholl should recall this product – Failure on every level - no power, heads useless and expensive. I agree with comments that product does not deliver and should be recalled. I bought because of painful right arm and thought this wd solve my nail care issues. How wrong!

A Filing Shame!!! – If I had known that this motor is so weak and also the filing pads do not last and one has to replace them at quite a cost I would definitely not have purchased this!!! Another Scholl failure...epic fail.

One shot wonder – Got it for Christmas and it was okay. Put it away for a couple of weeks. Tried to show a friend and it won't work even with new batteries. Does not seem like a product worthy of the Dr. Scholl name. GARBAGE!!!!

Pleasently surprised! – Treated myself to this today. (It was a bit pricey) And I could not read the instruction on the box, as my eyesight is poor and the print was so small, so I looked for a video on youtube, demonstrating this device. And I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Pros: It does the job well, and my nails look fresh and healthy. Cons: Very pricey, and… Read more

quite noisy. And no. I don't work for Scholl. I am in fact a travel agent, who prides herself on perfect looking nails for work. And while this product may not be perfect, it certainly does what it says on the tin, if you use it correctly!

Absolute waste of money – Don't be fooled by the adds. This product just doesn't deliver. There's just not enough power in this battery operated piece of rubbish. The moment you put it on your nail it almost stops. Wish I had read these reviews before buying.

complete lemon! – Delighted to get this for Christmas - until I tried it! Absolutely useless! No power in nail file at all and buffer just as useless. They should do a recall as the product is not of merchantable quality. Can't take it back as it was bought in another state, so I'm stuck with this lemon.

February 20th 2018 Update: Waste of money.

This product is crap. Save your money and get some emery paper its much cheaper and works 100% better. You can get this fine emery paper from bunnings.or any hardware store.
