Over priced, badly designed and built – This $1700 machine couldn't withstand light usage in a 2 bedroom home. The wand handle is made of a flimsy plastic construction which comes apart when even a small amount of pressure is applied in a turning or twisting motion. This occurs with normal usage on carpets when manoeuvring around corners etc. After the first use it came apart at the seam and clearly broke free of its internal clips so wouldn't clip back together.

When I took it back to the store, I checked the floor room model which also had the same problem.

Apart from that, the hose doesn't rotate 360 degrees on the barrel, so you end up with it becoming twisted and prone to kinks.

This is poorly designed and poorly built. For a brand that is so highly regarded, and so highly priced, this is completely unacceptable. This vacuum is marketed as professional grade but theres no way it would last 6 months in a professional setting, let alone 6 days at home. The fact that Sebo offers a 10 year warranty around the rest of the world but only 3 here says a lot. They don't stand by their products, or perhaps we're being taken for fools and sold inferior quality builds. Either way it's unacceptable. Returned it for a full refund. That was the first and last time I buy Sebo.

The Australian vacuum cleaner market is in a sad state. It's currently impossible to purchase a truly quality vacuum in this country. There's a niche here for a brand that can produce quality vacuums with power heads, without succumbing to greedflation and cutting corners as a result.

The photo attached to this review shows the problem seam, although it doesn't fully capture the problem itself because pressure wasn't applied when the photo was taken.

Dear Sebo, I'm preemptively responding to you before you get a chance to slap a canned reply on this review. You're welcome. I'm not interested in talking to your customer service reps, only to be thanked for the feedback. If you have something useful and meaningful to say, then say it. Otherwise you might as well say nothing at all. Generic or canned responses to negative reviews do as much damage to your reputation as ignoring them.

Dear Sebo. No thanks. After returning that pile of junk the only proof I have is my bank statements, and you're dreaming if you think I'm gonna send that to you. If it's really going to assist with your "investigation" , talk to About Clean in Blacktown. If this is to help you find an easy way out by attempting to accuse my review of being disingenuous, think again. You don't avoid reputational damage by censoring people, that only purpetuates the problem. Avoiding reputational damage is usually achieved by providing consistently good products and services, which you've failed to do. This was obviously a problem with the design and build quality. If you truly want to investigate, test your own products properly. In 2025, the situation is this: most companies who built their reputations on providing quality goods and services have fallen from grace. Rising costs can't be entirely to blame and no one accepts that excuse at this point. The only other plausible explanation for this degradation is greed. Sebo is obviously no exception.
