We had a Selecta Homes house transported to Kangaroo Island. The finished product was good value for money. Our problems started with after sale service. If you live remotely as we do be prepared for poor after sales service. Show details
Follow-up · The issue was very poor tiling. Selecta Homes should have corrected this problem in a professional manner instead of band aid solutions. It was never resolved to our satisfaction & they have wiped their hands clean of us.

Built our dream home with Selecta. Arrived 2 months ago and absolutely love it and so does all our friends and family. The quality of workmanship is outstanding. The whole process of signing the initial contract to the selections was done very… Read more
professionally. Michael our consultant was brilliant, made you feel at ease and very easy going and approachable. Michael was very helpful and any concerns or queries that we had he answered immediately and put our mind at ease. The office girls were tremendous and helped guild us through council proceedings, soil reports ect. We can honestly say from our experience Selecta Homes is a fantastic company to build with. They have a great range of homes to suit everyone’s needs or you have the option to change a few details like we did.
Well done Selecta, job well done
Follow-up · The best part was seeing our dream come to life. We were dealing with Michael and any changes and concerns that we had was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Our home originally came with 5 bedrooms, but we took out the 4th and 5th bedroom and made our living area larger. We also made our ensuite and walk in robe larger as well and made the… Read more
Have worked with them quoting a house, yet to be built, but the customer service was great so far: timely response quoting, someone always answered our calls with all sorts of questions, and they really put an effort in to accommodate our design. Is hard to find a reliable builder in this crazy market, but Selecta is the one aussie owned and operated builder i feel 100% i can trust! Show details

What we wanted, but not quite right – This is the only product review I have done or likely to do, I feel reviews are full of negative comments, bad language and posted by people with a grievance. Our build started mid September 2021 and absolutely raced along till mid November when it stalled, we were waiting for countertops and for some obscure reason rendering. During this time I… Read more
lost faith in their supervisor, I believe overworked and not able to complete tasks efficiently. Early March 2022 we had a practical completion and took possession of the house. During the excitement we missed a few problems, but to the builders credit he has remedied all our major concerns. I believe we have a structurally sound, well built house, it withstood tornado strength winds soon after moving in with no damage.
The not quite right
I now realise the Australian idiom “ near enough is good enough” is alive and well. We are of the opinion that we only have one coat of paint on the exterior, quantity of materials and time frame seem to support us, supposedly 2 coats on render in under 2 hours by 3 men on 60 sq mts approx of render? We’ve been assured there are two coat but still find it hard to believe. It’s the small things that really irritate us, paint smears and drips on doors windows and pavers, 10 to 15 mm gap’s in the wall- flashing junction, small holes in the weather board, one down pipe not painted, roof zips missing, the list goes on. ( see pics) These are small matters created by tradesmen who don’t care and won’t spend the time to complete the job to an acceptable level. All this accomplishes is an unhappy customer and a builder who has to try and justify poor workmanship. I will now do the one thing I swore I would not do and sort out these minor problems myself.
We do have the home we wanted, the overall experience was what we expected. My advice is to make sure you know exactly what you want before the selection process, and don’t be rushed, cancel and start again if needed, this is where we made our biggest mistake. During the build visit the build constantly to the point of being a nuisance. At handover get a professional, someone who won’t be seduced by shiny new surface’s, and once you have possession be prepared to wait for long periods to have small problems rectified. Hopefully this review is helpful to some. TM
Nice surprise – After three years with another building Co. and getting absolutely nowhere, not a sod turned, we approached Selecta Homes and in less than seven months we are moving into our new home. The quality and efficiency of their work is way beyond our expectations, they seem to go that extra mile in ensuring a quality build with first class materials. I… Read more
can honestly recommend his Co. to anyone thinking of building a new home. We are so glad we changed builders. The on site crews are some of the best tradesmen I have ever come across in a sixty year building trade experience...
Pretty good to deal with – Had extensions built by Selecta and they were good to deal with. Happy with the work they did and price wise to compared to the Builder I was going to go with they were very cheap. I had a house built by a competitor of theirs a few years back and in comparison Selecta's were great. I'd recommend them Show details
