I read the reviews, thought this sounds good, & bought a bottle of gel oven cleaner. I am up to my 3rd attempt at trying to get stove & racks clean. oven, it was not that dirty. Second time I cleaned oven, I literally covered a blob of something, about 1cm round, with gel. After 40 mins it would not wipe off. I covered a spoon with cloth and scraped and scraped and scraped to get it off. It is called HEAVY DUTY & it COULD NOT REMOVE a small blob. It should have just wiped clean. I recommend EASY OFF BAM to do the job, certainly not Selleys. So disappointed with product. Those who rated gel 4 or 5 stars, tell me why. What am I doing wrong as I can only manage 1 star as 0 is not an option?

it was paint peeling off and I'd have to buy a new oven but was told it is probably just extremely bad baked on gunk so I gave cleaning a try. Went through a whole can of Mr Muscle which didn't seem to do too much and the fumes were terrible so then gave this product a try. Well after a couple of applications and some tough scraping I'm really happy, can actually see the roof of the oven and it "almost" looks like new. I think if I keep cleaning the oven regularly with this product I'll probably end up with it shining like new and honestly I can't believe the results plus I can breathe easily when applying it and my house doesn't stink while it's left on. Obviously the person living here before was either a pig or just simply lazy as I don't think they could be bothered undoing the element (which isn't difficult, just need to undo 1 screw) so obviously never cleaned the roof of the oven - the rest of it was fine. I didn't believe I'd ever get the oven looking the way it does now so I'm one happy customer and would recommend this product to anyone - seems miracles can happen with a bit of elbow grease and a good product with the added bonus of no fumes so give it a try!

showed her she was blown away it was actually grey and looked like new 28 years of baked on gunk gone it took a few goes but got it clean

I did all the saucepans and every kitchen item that was blackened with age came up like new the oven gets used heavily in my hose and shows it this stuff just cleans it of no mater how gunked I even use it on the wheels of my car to get the brake dust of spotless be careful though it will pull the plastic coating of MAG wheels LOL great product hard to find I even rang selleys and asked them to sell me a box so I dont have to waste time looking for it in shops no go I supose they have to look after thetr selers but get it pout to a few more shops get someone to do store demos I garantee you will sell heaps more when you do the dmos get people to bring in theier worst pans then they will believe you

it is hard to spread it evenly. The inbuilt brush was only useful to wipe more gel over built up areas. The gel is thick so it clings to the roof of the oven without falling off. The claim to just wiping the product off is a little misleading. I found I needed multiple cloths to wipe it off all surfaces and some areas required a little scrubbing to remove built up grease. However the product does rinse off well. Protection is required over the floor surfaces and gloves are required due to it being corrosive. Minimal smell so it is more tolerable to use than other oven cleaners with harmful fumes. One of the top oven cleaners I have used. Keep away from children's reach. Available from all good supermarkets. Competitively priced. Easy to use. Well known brand. Minimal smell. Gel comes out of the bottle at different rates which makes it hard to spread evenly. Lots of cloths are required to wipe the gel off.

Extremely pleased – Followed the instructions. Warmed oven up, let it cool a little, then applied the gel thick to one wall. Came back 30 minutes later and with one wipe, took off 90% of the accumulated grease that had been building up for 5 years. It didn't take off everything, but I think another pass will. This is the only oven cleaner I use – I always use this product and I find it very effective. I apply it and then after 30 min wipe over it with a damp cloth, then mop it up with paper towel, then clean it off with warm soapy water and a cloth. Finally a final wipe over with warm water and a cloth. While it can be a bit messy there are no toxic fumes or smell. Show details

Highly Recommend – It's a job that nobody likes and all expect miracles when they have to do it. But let's face it when you have to do it, it is at least 50% Elbow Grease that does the job but this Selleys product sure does the other 50%. say that the oven had not been cleaned in the last 15 years. The product applicator made it easy to coat the surfaces, there is very little product odour and it really cuts through greasy surfaces. Followed the instructions and warmed the oven before starting. When it came to wiping down the glass door all it took was a wipe off with paper towel , no effort required there. Wire racks required the use of a kitchen scourer to remove the baked on grime. Daughters comment was "Woww, I can now see what I am cooking".

Scrubbing required- time consumes – Unlike oven sprays this requires more time and effort to clean . It does not go just applying , leaving and washing . Still some spots can stay specially at corners. Oven sprays make foam and clean pretty much easily.I would rather go with Easy off clean or SELLEYS Oven Clean 4 Minute Fast Power Clean. Show details

Scrubbing Required – Unlike a foam application with it's toxic fumes and "even coverage", Selleys Oven Plus Heavy Duty GEL ($6.49) needs to be applied, in direct contact with the area of grime. Tested on warm, and COLD surfaces even though; "*Must be applied to warm surfaces; compared to previous cold surfaces formulas."

Gel will congeal (semi-harden) if left too long; scrubbing and reapplication is still required, even though my pans etc. are not in feral condition.

[+] No nasty, but tolerable fumes if any... Product did not burn my skin when I came into contact with the Gel

[-] More time consuming for this customer.

New formulation a disappointment – The old formulation was cold application so you could use it on any metal with baked on grease - no fumes, effective and easy. The new formulation is hot/warm application (in small writing on the packaging) and is less effective, less useful, and less convenient - apparently its a shorter wait time though. Best Oven Cleaner I've ever used – This product is fantastic. Used as instructed, my oven in the last 4 houses I lived in were left with a mirror finish. Only thing is, and this is so important. It's so toxic that if you don't tie a shirt of something over your mouth & nose, tied behind your neck to use it and do the scrubbing, wiping and quadruple rinsing, you'll cough & choke your guts up. Show details

Great stuff – I use this as I can't use the spray oven cleaner I find the fumes to much. This stuff is amazing little to no effort and my oven is as good as new with little to no smell.

Selleys Oven Plus Heavy Duty Gel – Excellent oven cleaner! This oven cleaner from Selleys comes in gel form. Easily cleaned oven racks and oven cookware without much effort. Requires a little scrubbing for hardened grease but comes up like new ! This product is better than the foam version of Selley’s oven cleaner because you can safely use it without inhaling harmful fumes.

Always buy! – This is the best oven cleaner I have ever used. My Mum uses it and apparently "Mum knows best!" In this case yes she hit gold. Grease and grime wipes away so easily. The only down side was the smell, but if you want your oven to sparkle this is my go to product.!

Best oven cleaner in 20 years – Just used this on my filthy oven door. Spotless in around 20 minutes. Unbelievably easy to use and it works. No hard scrubbing but you need good ventilation and gloves.

Tried so many and then – I found Selley's. So happy with the product I cant stop recommending it to my friends. The chemicals just about took my breath away on a warm oven so make sure there is good ventilation in the kitchen. I am 62 and have tried almost everything over the years on ovens, this product is way in front of all its competitors, just sorry it took me so long to discover it.

used it to great effect to clean my BBQ too. I clean up and discard most of the chemical residue with paper towels rather than flush it all down the sink. Would certainly recommend it with the proviso that does stink.

some build up residue inside the oven but I put that down to previous tenants not cleaning it properly. If it weren't for that probably would've made the oven look like new again.

great with no fumes – easy to wipe on, easy to wipe off. still found i had some baked on bits that required heavy scrubbing. did not use on the racks as i had already soaked them in wash detergent and very hot water.

Best oven product ive used – I wouldn't usually write a review on a product like this but was very very impressed with it. I always put off cleaning the oven as it's a horrible job, this product has made it so much easier. The grime comes off without a lot of scrubbing, its fantastic.

Always worked well for us! – Love this product, found it the best for oven and enamel stove top cleaning especially exit cleans in rentals. Highly recommend especially because it has no smell/fumes and goes on easily and accurately.

Been using for years – I Love cleaning my oven because its such an easy job, This Selleys oven Plus is so easy to use, and works great. I even cleaned a lot of buit up oil off my deep fryer

Works quite well – I went and bought this when OzKleen failed to do a decent job and I needed to finish cleaning the oven. It works satisfactorily, cleaning up the grime OzKleen failed to budge. Got it from Mitre 10 for $7.50. Woolworths don't stock it.

Easy to apply, no fumes and it actually works – I really like this product. It's easy to "paint" on so easy to avoid overspray going elsewhere. It's easy to wipe off along with baked-on gunk and it doesn't have the horrendous fumes of most others - this is a big plus.It actually works really well. I have found it hard to track down though - Good Guys apparently sell it now.

It should come with a WOW warning!!! – This product is simply put BRILLIANT!!!! I used it on a cold oven with fantastic results. Good tip use hot water to rinse off. Easy peasy!!!!

Less elbow grease needed – I hate cleaning the oven. Can't stand the fumes you get with the spray cans. I stumbled on this at the hardware store and was really pleased with the result. It seemed to work better than anything else I've tried, with less effort. The only problem is that it's really hard to find a stockist around my place. efficient, no fumes not stocked at supermarket

Fantastic – I tried about 3 different methods of getting my oven clean. I hadn't cleaned it for about 18 months and there was a lot of burnt on muck in the bottom and the racks were black. This gel is fantastic just brush it on and half about hour later it just wiped away. I won't be using anything else in future. Quick easy no fumes and it works.
