I was charged $325 upfront for a service that was never completed. The technician was on-site for only eight minutes and, in the process of rushing, broke a cooling pad. He then presented two quotes: • $2,990 — to replace all pads (including the one just broken) and the solenoid. The total cost of materials was approximately $370. • $6,375 — to… Read more

replace the entire, currently functioning unit, justified on the basis that the first quote represented a “sizable investment.” Total materials were approximately $2,500.

When I contacted the owner to discuss a fair charge and reasonable pricing, I was told, “We don’t come out for free.”

Should have read the reviews before booking them. Took 295 for the call out and then quoted me a thousand bucks for my evap cooling spares. Stupidly, I agreed and paid everything upfront. Still waiting after nearly 3 weeks of payment in order to get the job done. Don't make the mistake I did - never call them.

Big Cheats and getting away with day time robbery Shouldn't be any star – I booked for gas heating service and believing the way it was explained, you only have to pay for the parts. When I called to book, I told the error code in the system and it clearly says that the module to be replaced. Plumber called Danni arrived, didn't even spend 5 minutes and told me, heating unit need to be replaced, as no parts are… Read more

available. I told him that I told the exact problem and they never told that they don't have parts to fix it. And charged me $295.00 for nothing. Then gave me a quote for replacement of the unit which is $2000.00 more than others. It's sad to see these people get away with this dodgy business.

Regrettably, cannot recommend – Charged $295 upfront over the phone. The fitter spent 15 minutes to service our water heater. 5 minutes after he had left the expansion valve failed and began spurting water uncontrollably: an astonishing co-incidence. Service IT charged $220 for a return visit to source and install a new expansion valve. A quick Google search shows they cost $80… Read more

Here is the killer: they take your credit card details over the phone but all calls are recorded - including the details of your credit card. If you are considering using them you need to think how lucky you feel today.

No Service, Yet Takes Money Beforehand – I tasked ServiceIT to service my heater, and to fix my vent. I explained the job online, and included photos of the job to be done. One the day, the service man went up the manhole and stated that the access was not legal. The service man left - without doing any of the tasks, including fixing the vent which does not require access through the… Read more

manhole. The service man left after 5 mins.

I asked that the manager telephone me, which he did. He said that he would look into what had occurred, and get back to me. He did not get back to me; it may have been three weeks before Xmas, but I don't think the company will get back to me. He simply explained that there was not access.

So, a five-minute call out, on a weekday, without achieving anything, cost me $295. The company takes full amount on enquiry, and takes all bank details. So, it is debited before/on the day of service.

I got nothing for my money.

Terrible rippoff evap cooler servicing – They haven't told me callout. I was charged $295 and $385 for evap servicing. the plumber said it required a special part to fix it and cameback in couple of hours and charged another fee to change it. total time spent was 20 mins in total.

Rip offs – I originally contacted Service It due to their great reviews on google and was hoping for a 5 star experience. To start off my service was booked for 12pm, it had gotten to 1 and no one turned up, nor did I receive and updated ETA. I get some appointments take longer than expected up at least update your customers. I paid $300 (over the phone to… Read more

avoid a surcharge, before anyone even arrived at my property) for what was supposed to be a service of my existing unit that was not working, only for the technician to tell me that it was not worth repairing and needed to be replaced. Fair enough the unit is 20+ years old. I understand that this $300 service cost would include a call out fee but you guys didn't actually service or repair the unit so why is the cost the same? You then quoted me $4,800 to replace the unit with absolutely no price break down. Not even specifying what brand and model it would be replaced with making it very difficult to compare your pricing. Out of the several quotes that I went on to get in the coming days this turned out to be the highest quote that I got for a supply and fit of a new unit and needless to say I ended up going with another installer. To think that I was going to hand over a total of $5100 to you guys is after your heater service rip off is a joke. I understand you run a business and need to make a profit but be reasonable. I ended up paying $2000 LESS than your supply and fit quote to a team that came the day after I contacted them, did an amazing job and gave me an extended warranty. Lesson learnt to me and anyone else reading this, don't pay for anything until the work is complete. The surcharge would've only workout out to be $2.75 or something. A small price to pay for peace of mind that the work you're paying for is actually being done.

Complete ripoff – Called and booked service tech for a specific fault. They turned up, serviced the heater (which I did not ask for), after an hour declared that it was fixed. I tested the fault I had reported with the technician and it was not resolved. Charged $395 for the call out. They then wanted to charge another $395 plus parts to replace the faulty valve.… Read more

The person on reception was the only person with any integrity, the person who called back didn't have any of the detail available. The owner was arrogant - we charge what everyone else charges - which is not true as the others have the parts in the van and don't require a second trip. BTW the owner doesn't know the difference between a solenoid and a stepper motor (which the valve has both) five stars for the person on reception, 0 for everyone else.

Unethical – Serviced my space heater. Fitted an incorrect part, probably innocently, but causing additional problems. Service It subsequently quoted a figure even higher than the original service to fix the problem they had created, gradually reducing the quote to see what the customer would tolerate. Thoroughly unethical.

Unprofessional – BREEZAIR evaporator stopped working and was running water. Had three visits from Service It only to have water pump and float valve replaced at very high price. At last visit asked their so called "technician" how the float v/v is supposed to prevent water from running out every time drain v/v opens up. The answer was : I am not sure. Asked again… Read more

why the metal bar connecting float v/v is disconnected from the solenoid. Answer: our boss said it is a new type of valve and no need in that metal bar. And than added : because the unit looks old i would suggest you to replace it ($6500). End result : that night evaporator was running mains water non-stop. Good "job" Service It ! Had to shut water off manually in the morning and after small Google research found that in my type of Breezair the float v/v has to be connected to a solenoid by metal bar.

How would you explain, Service It, that your servicemen failed to recognise the problem three times, got me to buy new pump and float valve and on top of it to suggest me to spend another $6500 for new evaporator? Called up receptionist to let know about the problem and frustration and was called being abusive by the business owner. That just shows the way you run your business, mate.

NEVER will I use your "services" again.

Never again – Technician came out to look at ducted heating, after disassembled a few parts and was told he couldn't fix and recommended new one. Didn't bother to put back removed parts so I can have someone else for second opinion. Told me sale will contact me for quotation of new heater, never hear from them after that. Charged $260 for messed up my heating unit.

Will get job done but will also charge through the nose – Used them back in 2018, and had written a note-to-self not to use them again but couldn't remember why. Hot water went out recently at parent's house and obviously wanted someone to look at it asap. Turns out the gas light had turned off, so he turns it on. $265 standard call out fee, fair enough. But then proceeds to tell my mum that he can… Read more

replace a part for an extra $150 so that the unit will last longer. The man literally just switched the flame back on, clearly it's working fine. And then it came flooding back to me why I had wrote the note-to-self 2 years ago, cos he had charged us an extra half hour of labour though he had been on the phone for about 15minutes. So now I'm writing more than a note-to-self.

Do not allow "Service IT Australia" near your Heating or Home! – I am writing this formal notice to caution all homeowners about Service It Australia PTY LTD, the heating contractor ([name removed]). Service It Australia was invited in December 2019, to conduct a “General Heater Service”. The ducted heater was working in perfectly good order a 100% before the service. I was simply undertaking the general… Read more

service as there were no issues or faults with the heater! During the phone booking, I warned [name removed] not to come and place new parts and charge any unwanted fees. Even after the warning, he played me out badly !!! During the Service, [name removed] come inside the home and requested the “replaced of the flame Sensor”; to a new and longer “Flame Sensor”. I was very reluctant to do this as the heater worked well, however, this man plays on women and forced me to agree. A NEW flame Sensor was installed.

I was quoted $270.00 for the General Services and after the “Flame Sensor” was replaced I was billed $325.00. Later to find out a “Flame Sensor” was about $6.00 - $12.00 in the market place. Thereafter, we sent many formal complaints to [name removed], as we were ripped off for a “Flame Sensor” which was NOT needed. https://www.ebay.com/bhp/lennox-flame-sensor

Since 13 December 2018, after the service the heater was not used at all as it was high summer ( 2018) and there was no requirement for the use of ducted heating in the home.

On 9 February 2019, was the first time the ducted heating was required as the day was cold and when the ducted heating was turned on, it did not start and did not work! We believe this is due to the “flame Sensor”, not igniting, not correctly placed for the heater to work. The perfect working heater was now damaged by Service It Australia PTY LTD. No service warranty was offered either. Once Service IT Australia Pty Ltd, was called and emailed over 12 times, the owner [name removed] refused to take any accountability and since then it has been HELL. Now with winter, we don't HAVE HEATING.

Finally, we reported the matter to the Victorian Building Authority (VBA360 Complaints vba360complaints@vba.vic.gov.au) who took 5 - 6 weeks to even come and inspect the matter. Now the VBA Inspector tells us that the matter needs to be taken to VCAT for a resolution.

Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) Victorian Building Authority (VBA) have been powerless and not carried out compliance and followed regulations. Please read all the feedback on Service IT Australia Pty Ltd; ( [name removed]) as many women have been put through this by this conman playing and cheating mainly innocent females. Do not allow Service It Australia PTY LTD to come to your home and do any work on heaters as they will cause major damages, so they can return back and fix it at a higher cost and rip you off even more!
