Shark Navigator Lift-Away (model number NV350NZ) units manufactured prior to 18 October 2014 (which bear a production code 4811A to 4114A inclusive) are being voluntarily recalled after identification of a potential manufacturing issue that may affect the cord. Poor backing company – Shark is a brilliant machine. However, Mann & Noble are deceitful and dishonest in their customer dealings. In that regard buy something else in case anything goes wrong as they won't make it easy for you.

lifts my mood as it lifts away all debris from ANY surface love this !!! – I have now owned my shark navi for about 5 years and I can honestly say it has not skipped a beat. It is the ONLY vac I have ever used where you can visibly see the dust bunnies collecting in container even AFTER rug has been vacuumed with a standard model vac and looks clean. The carpet setting which is adjustable for suction , is pure brilliance… Read more
and literally sucks every bit of dust fluff and pet dander from said rug or carpet. It is easy to use on a fluffy decorative rug also as it can be turned down to a lower more gentle suction. the hard floor tool whips around with ease navigating small spaces seamlessly and creating a suction which eliminates even the tiniest specks of dust. The motor has not skipped a beat in 5 years and is as powerful as the day it was bought and it is used every day. the cord is a very good length meaning in most instances an extention cord is not needed ...actually you would need a HUGE room for the cord not to reach every corner. It comes apart fully so that you can interchance pieces with ease , no second guessing or fiddle rituals to get it apart ...it is childs play when it comes to ease of part change. I love it . My sis has a dyson and I have cleaned houses and none even come close to the shark. None. cons are that it can be a bit bulky for fine work so I have a little handheld I use for smaller things and cord is best slung over shoulder for ease of movement without cord getting caught under it but really it is by far and large the best vac I have ever used and no replacement needed in sight .
I want my old vacuum back! – I bought this vacuum because my Bissell Momentum was too heavy (I loved everything else about it and I'm sorry I sold it now). The Navigator is about 5 pounds lighter. It has a swivel head which makes it easier to get around corners and furniture legs but it is very difficult to control this vacuum as this particular model has too much… Read more
movement in the head. I have arthritis in the base of my thumbs and my wrists are weak and I often need to hold the vacuum with two hands to control it.
Today I tried cleaning my car with it. The way the hose attaches to the attachment is very odd and unwieldly and difficult to maneuver. I could not clean between my car seats properly because the attachment was not long enough and did not have enough suction unless I covered the vent holes on the nozzle attachment. While trying to vacuum the rugs in my car, the vacuum kept tipping over and banging into my car. I was lucky it didn't dent the car door. Also there is no way to carry the attachments on the vacuum. You have to carry them separately and hope you don't lose them while you are cleaning. Very inconvenient.
Also when vacuuming area rugs, the vacuum will suck up the rug unless you put it on the second level of cleaning and then move a ring around the hose which allows some air to get in the hose and reduce the suction. This is a real pain in the butt to remember to do this every time you are on a rug.
Overall this vacuum is very nice looking and does an okay job but the perks are lacking for the price and quite frankly I am disappointed and sorry I ever got rid of my Bissell. I've only had this vacuum about 2 months and I'm thinking of selling it and buy another Bissell.
Great Purchase Price – Woow, where do you start...It is an awesome vacuum, if you know how to maintain it as well as use it. Its been very reliable since I have owned this product, I was a Lux customer previously but I am now glad I have made the switch. Its a shame they have discontinued this product, the downside was that it was heavy and you couldn't get it under… Read more
beds and etc.
They did however got hold of me for a product recall due to the power cable, I returned it and they sent me another one. Although it left me without a vacuum for 1-2 weeks, so I bought a cheap one, that broke not long after I received my shark vacuum.
What I am trying to say is, its worthwhile spending $300-$500 on a vacuum that would look after you and your household - anything higher than that, I would expect it to polish, dry and wash my carpets.
Would you believe it, I still own it to this day. It's going to be a sad day when it decides to go, however I will try another shark vacuum that is more modern, till then I am quite happy with this product.

I think this is a great, powerful vacuum that really sucks up a lot of dirt – I really like the rotating head when using on carpet. Really easy to empty, mine has been going strong for years. Only problem has been when stupid people don't empty it for weeks and weeks and it backs up all the way to the hose! Easily fixed and identified by anyone who has half a brain... Great with pet hair, long haired women and sand etc. Show details
Excellent – It's great with carpet and wood floor. Pet hair. Easy to clean and empty the canister so impressed with this vacume I've had the previous models but this is by far the best. Show details
Always had dyson in the past but prefer the shark – I have carpets in the bedrooms, tiles in the kitchen and bathroom and wood flooring in my lounge so have a whole range of surfaces that I use my shark on and find it’s excellent on all surfaces. I also have rugs and you can adjust the suction level to accommodate these which is great. Show details
Negative reviews
motorised floor brush design fault – Was good on carpets until the motorized floor brush motor burnt out caused by design and not having a filter to stop fluff from clogging the tube to give cooling air to the brushes motor . I would suggest to owners of this model to get a repair man to disassemble the brush and clean the debris from the cooling tube before the motor overheats and burns out . Show details
Great suction but that's it – I have a large 4 bdrm house with timber floors in the main living areas and carpet in the bedrooms. After a year the turbo attachment for cleaning the carpet broke - so have since been cleaning the carpet with the 'pet brush' It is very heavy and cumbersome to manoeuvre around and falls over when detaching and using the on board tools. It has… Read more
good suction, but that is about it and would not recommend. For the price we paid - I would not look at anymore Shark products.
Ok vacuum – Pros: We received this Shark vacuum as a gift and it a very good gift indeed. Cleans carpet pretty well. The sunction on carpet surface is great. Very easy and handy in emptying the dirt receptable. Cons: Some leftover on the floor at the end of the vacuum cycle. Only used one of the other attachments that comes with it. Show details

A good vacuum after many years use – I can’t remember when I bought this vacuum but it must be well over 5 years and still going strong. I can’t really fault it, other than it’s a bit hard to use in the car. The vacuum gives carpets a good clean, due to its power head brush and good suction. I usually give the vacuum a maintenance every 4 months, by washing the filters and cleaning the power head brush, by using metho and cloth. Show details
Good suction – This is one of the best vacuums I have ever purchase. The only problem I have is after a long use it’s starts smelling what I pickup. I have to empty and wash the filter after every use. The lift away is very useful easy to take apart and put together. Show details
Best vacuum I've owned – I find it lifts most anything. It has great suction. And not overly noisy. Was a long term investment but money well spent I think. I love the versatility of this vacuum so much as it keeps proving itself time and time again. Can not be happier as I am yet to replace it. Show details

on par with dyson – This was a great vaccuum, had great suction and each use would fill a barrel of dog hair! I usually owned dyson's and this was just as good. You can vary how much suction you needed and the turbo option was great for high traffic carpet area.Shame its discontinued as would buy again. Show details
Perfect vacuum for pet owners – Excellent vacuum. Purchased after a family member had for a number of years. I've had this vacuum for nearly 3 years and it hasn't missed a beat. Excellent for carpets, floorboards, couches - even with the additional attachments I mostly use the standard attachment as it's perfectly functional. Would definitely recommend this brand. Best Vac I have ever had – Love this vac. I have used if for about 5 years now and cant fault it. Even got one for my mum. It's easy to use and clean out. Well worth the money I spent. We did get a recall about 2 years ago that has something to do with the power cord but they sent out all the stuff that I needed to send it back and they fixed it and had it back to me within 10 days. Can't live without it – We had this vacuum cleaner over 3 years already. I love it, it is easy to clean. Suction is good on carpet or tiles. It can be transformed to use on the staircase as well. You don't need to change head at different hard surface and it makes vacuum easy. Show details
Will never use another Vacuum again – Amazing amazing amazing Claims never loose suction.... It doesn't. Didnt realise how pathetic normal vacuums are till I got this. Only issue hard floor and lift away are not user friendly. I use daily 3br house and have a full on moulting cat and you wouldnt know. I use it everywhere couches, floors, beds. Was honestly the best money I've ever spent on a vacuum cleaner and would again in a heart beat. Show details
3years old and still going – I have a lot of space to vacuum and with 4 kids and living by the beach , I know I had to invest in a good vacuum. Now almost 4 yrs old and still going strong vacuuming every day same times twice. Just clean filters once a week. Easy as on slate and carpets , love it Show details
Best vacuum to date – I use my Shark on every surface in my house. I've had it for 2 years. Comes with a 5 year warranty and a few different vacuum heads It has a power sucker switch to give the carpets a great clean! My family have also commented and said that they would like to purchase in the near future Show details

The cost of parts could buy another cleaner – I have been delighted with my Shark 350, it was recalled and I was very impressed with the efficiency. I got a replacement power brush later under warranty but now the main hose needs replacing, I could buy a new vacuum for the cost its the postage from USA thats the problem but I ordered one long time ago it was on back order still waiting to… Read more
hear from Brand. Looking for second hand one, shocked to read the model is discontinued and the cost of a new cleaner is out of the question. Don't think later models are as robust as those first models.
where do i get spares – suction is fine love it however the moter to the power head is at the end of it,s life and gave up the ghost now i,m looking for a spare moter and i,m told they don,t make spares for model 350 i give up i,m left with a pile of plastic junk Show details
Pretty good – I've had my shark for a few years now. In the very beginning I thought it was the best thing I'd ever bought but over time I feel the suction quality has been slowly decreasing. It is a reasonably light but bulky item. I can't get under alot of items of furniture and the filter cover often flies off if accidently bumped. I do however feel it is… Read more
very sturdy and can certainly take a few knocks. Overall it is a good vacuum cleaner but I'm not too sure I would buy another of these. I feel at that price it should be stacking and unstacking the dishwasher too
This is perfect – It was a very good vacuum had it for many years.. It was good for pet her.. My house is mainly carpet.. I have a four bedroom house with two bathrooms.. It easy to use and very light weight happy with everything this vacuum has easy to clean as well Show details
Got a new Dyson, now missing my shark so much – I used to have a good faithful shark navigator vacuum, the purple one. It never let me down. One day I accidentally sucked up a small toy which became lodged inside the hose and someone (not me) cut the hose to retrieve it...so off we went to get a new vacuum. For some reason I was conned into getting a Dyson animal barrel vacuum for over $1000.… Read more
It is so so bad compared to my old vacuum!! It does not compare to the suction, ease of use, bomb-proof-ness of my shark. Major regrets right now...don't make the same mistake I did.
Easy navigator – We bought this product from costco and never disaapointed. The house we rent has very old carpet and this vaccum cleaner took care of us from dust allergies. Pros 1. Easy installation 2. Customisable 3. Easy cleaning 4. Study and navigates to corners 5. Both floor and carpet Cons: 1. Foam airfilter, cannot find in any store to replace if it goes dirty Show details
Great vacuum – I chose this model over the red and white model because I found it lighter and easier to manouver. I'm very happy with its performance. I use it on tiles, carpet, furniture, even the bird cage. Picks up everything. When I bought it I did a test with my old vax then used the shark and I was astounded at how much dirt came out of the carpet. I have since won a Dyson which I haven't even taken out of the box! Bought from Harvey Norman Show details
Vacuum breaks and get the worst customer service – Not happy with the performance of suction, terrible! Called customer service and they did not want to know anything about it. Phone was hung up in our face multiple times. It has 5 years warranty and did not last 1 year. Try getting the warranty. Forget about it. Never buy from Shark or any online brands again. Better just stick to the popular brands. Show details
It’s just a vacuum cleaner – TV really hyped up these vacuums, although there is nothing quite special about them. It’s just a vacuum, like any other. It does a good job, but I would expect any vacuum to do the same. Also the vacuum is quite heavy and hard to push when the brush roll is not in use. Show details
Terrible customer service – The vacuum cleans very well, until it stops working. As others have mentioned, if something goes wrong with your vacuum don't expect them to honour the warranty, they will do whatever they can to avoid servicing and once you finally do get them to service it they will try and charge you for what is clearly a fault. Mines just as good as a dyson – Look, mines amazing, its just as good as a dyson, picks up crap like it never existed but God does the power cord annoys me... its always in the way. The hose is short and annoying but seriously all that fades away when it picks up everything in your way. Show details
BAD AFTER SALE SERVICE – Product performed quite well except that the cord is to short and it is not easy to manoeuvre but by far the biggest drama is if require after sales service it is Non Existing as I have just found out when the motor Blew Up all you get is the Great Run Around Absoutely Hopeless would not recommend anyone purchasing the product. It works but it's unwieldy – I have had my Lift-Away for about 3 years now and still struggle with maneuvering it around. Whilst it is great for getting dirt off the floor, I waste an awful lot of time keeping the cord clear of the suction and don't know why it is so difficult. The cord outlet is toward the bottom of the machine and I have to hold it up constantly. The… Read more
accessories don't work terribly well either. They do indeed suck up the dirt but they are unwieldy. I seem to be unable to get the right angle to use the crevice tool or the furniture tool and as a result, I feel I am fighting the machine the whole time. I do not see these problems as having been addressed in later models so will not be buying this brand again, unless there is a complete overhaul of the design. Summary: It works but what a battle!
