Great flexible affordable vacuum cleaner – I bought this vacuum a year ago and can highly recommend it. It's very versatile and can be used in 4 ways: upright, just with the long handle for far reaching places, short handle for close reach or detach the waste container and take it with you if needed. There are 3 settings for variety of surfaces: hard floor, thin and thick carpet. … Read more

Collected waste, hair and even bulkier soft items are separated during vacuuming for easier extraction (I once vacuumed a sock that would usually get stuck but it was filtered out through a wide exit hole - wonderful).

Cleaning of the roller brush and other components is very quick due to a trouble-free disassemble/assemble of the parts.

A total pleasure to own and use, so far (3 years & counting) – I find this vacuum almost perfect- by far the best I've ever used), and wish to congratulate the designers. Will award it the fifth stars once its longevity exceeds that of my old Miele: 20 years... and once I've been able to obtain affordable replacement brushes and other accessories after the need arises... if this website- and civilisation-last… Read more

that long. That's the level of quality we should expect.

There's almost every surface in the house except wood, including ye olde lino, new carpet, '50s stonemasonry, and mats with super-long shaggy polypropylene pile. It aces everything.

Suction: 10/10 Maneuverability: 10/10 Adaptability: 10/10 Particle filtration: 10/10 Ease of maintenance: 10/10

It steers around corners, through tight spots around legs of, and under, chairs and in shadows with ease thanks to articulated joint and headlight. Note that the slightly narrower (than some) foot is advantageous for those tight little nooks. Gets under low cabinetry thanks to ability, with single button press, to detach barrel.

It's great for cleaning under the fronts of cupboard doors with the long tube. With the shorter and brush/crevice tool, great for window sills, books, and own undercarriage. Its, that is.

It never gets snagged on the deep shag, despite the powerful suction and relentlessly spinning brush.

Picks up dog hair even from horrible fabrics into which the hairs thread themselves through the weave like sadistic embroidery.

Getting longer hairs and threads out of the hard brush is beautifully easy because it is removable from the top, and has a long curving groove along its length for the tip of your scissors. Outstanding design in particular for this, and generally.

Light to carry, easy to store upright in narrow broom cupboard.

So far all brushes looking good, filters seem good after repeated washing.

The house is cleaner than ever in life. Every time i use the machine I'm grateful as the very first time, for its wonders. I apologise to it if i happen to knock a corner.

I've used an older Dyson, and it was heavy, cumbersome, stiff and unmaneuverable, and sucked half as strongly. I do not want a wide footprint. The comparatively narrow swathe of the Shark is nothing but an advantage.

Good work so far, designers and producers!

But if there are unfairnesses later, watch out!!!

A must buy – purchased 3 years ago and still going well. Have just replaced rollars and filters at a very reasonable cost and it feels brand new again. I have 6 cats and 8 dogs and the duo clean has no dramas cleaning up after them. As with all things looking after your vacuum on a regular basis is key..cleaning the rollars and filters or replacing with new parts as i have done because all things get old and tired. I have hard floors, carpet and rugs. Show details

Excellent Vacuum, It's worth the Purchase – This vacuum has been incredible, handling all floor types it has been tested on and doing the job only a Shark could do. Purchased the Duo after borrowing an older model from a friend, inspired me to get my own and it was definitely a purchase I won't be regretting. This vacuum can handle all floor types and is absolutely a choice vacuum if you have an abundance of pet hair, It'll definitely sort that issue out for you!! Show details

Very good easy machine – I have put off writing a review because as a devoted Dyson owner I thought sooner or later I would regret buying Shark but I have been proved wrong. This machine out does my old Dyson hands down, the only very small moan I have is that the Vacuum head is smaller hence more hoovering but that actually is a small price to pay. Show details

This is my second shark I like the twin brush head – The nv800 is good can use on high pile carpet ,low pile and hard floors .I personally have all 3 so it's perfect and the quick release double turbo heads make it sooo much easier to clean and detangle any hair that may be wrapped around them Show details

Amazing, so happy, pet hair & debris a breeze – Amazing. Got my shark lift away from catch. Set up easily yesterday in 15mins. My god, yes I hadn’t vacuumed in a week due to breakage of previous vacuum. But filled the container (same or more room than my previous bagged vacuum) with ease. Was amazed at how clean it got debris off my carpet, pet hair it breezes through. Love the headlights &… Read more

So Impressed with my Shark – Couldn’t wait to use my new 800 Shark. Hubby assembled it with ease and off I went. To sum up my experience in one word is “ BRILLIANT “. A little heavier than the Dyson. The longer cord that the Shark provides is appreciated and the suction on this little wonder is wow. The headlines I thought were a novelty but in reality they are fantastic when doing those tricky areas. Shark , you have made my day Show details

Love the power – NV800 - DuoClean® Powered Lift-Away Speed - I use mainly on tiled floor and lounge room rug (low pile). The carpet function may be a little heavy for some people, however I love the strong suction and the bonus workout I receive. So flexible with the way it swivels and I especially like the lift a way feature for getting under beds etc...I also… Read more

appreciate the LED lights, helps to see all kinds of little objects like LEGO. My only grump is the hose / wand suction isn't as powerful and I would prefer a brush head for the wand to have more bristles.

A Shark that bites the dust... in your carpet! – I had seen this vacuum demonstrated on a TV shopping channel repeatedly, so I felt I knew its features quite well. Well enough to buy it online rather than from a local shop and certainly not from the TV channel. The RRP was $599, but I secured it from Bing Lee with an extra eBay discount for $473 (including delivery) so I was more than happy… Read more

with the purchase price. The day of delivery was the same day that my cleaning lady had gone through the house using our Volta upright, which we thought was efficient, for it continuously filled the dust bag. After assembling the Shark vacuum, I was duty bound to try it out on the freshly vacuumed carpets. To my astonishment, the dust canister filled up within ten minutes and needed emptying!

Clearly, the vacuum design had greatly improved upon the ten year old Volta. One of the significant improvements would be the double roller system, which is so powerful it practically powers the Shark along the floor and makes it quite an effort to drag it backwards especially if the roller bristles have engaged with a long pile carpet. Surprisingly, the Shark is only rated at 800 Watts in comparison to the old Volta at 1300 Watts., so there's a saving there too.

The suction motor and dust canister can detach from the upright handle and powerhead so that the vacuum can be used with a hand wand to do stairs or other jobs such as carpets in the car etc. My only criticism is that the canister is so light in weight, that it continuously falls over as the flexible hose moves. If I was to want one other improvement, it would be to increase the capacity of the dust canister, which is very small in comparison to the old Volta paper bag, consequently, it will require emptying more often. Otherwise, this Shark vacuum can bite off much more than any old Volta can!

Excellent Vacuum - Love It – I bought this to have a good machine for carpets. It does an excellent job, is easy to empty and reaches under a beds and furniture with the lift away feature. I love its versatility. I can take off the motor unit and it becomes like a stick vac getting under and around things easily. The wand or handle clip out easily so I can use the crevice… Read more

tool on my way around the house to clean window tracks and hard to reach spots. It is also great on hard floors and easily switches between carpet and hard. It cleans edges. It even cleans light rugs without trying to suck them in or pick them up because the suction is easily adjustable on the go. Reducing the suction does not affect the floor brush speed which means cleaner rugs. Suction is impressive and more than enough. Filters are easy to clean. It is fairly easy to steer with the motor unit attached but may be a touch heavy for some and is not as easy as the ball upright Dyson I once had although I suspect it will get easier as I get used to it. Overall, however, it leaves the Dyson for dead both for performance and price. A serious vacuum for a thorough clean of the entire house. I can't fault it.

Amazing – I never wite a review. For anything. Ever. I read them, but don’t submit any. Just got this vacuum and find it absolutely necessary to share my opinion. I liked my last Shark and it lasted seven years through heavy, daily use. I LOVE my new Shark even more! Someone complained about the cord length. Ok, it’s a little long and takes a minutes to wrap up, but it is no big deal compared to the ease of use and superior power. You can’t go wrong! Show details

WOW wow – Wow well this is the best vacuum yet!! I now own 4 Shark vacs. I was a domestic cleaner for many years and have used every vacuum from old upright hoovers to Kirby's, electolux, weinheim, Dysons etc etc. I myself owned and loved my Nilfisk. Was a wonderful cleaner. One day we saw Target clearing the last of their Shark cleaners. Hubby decided to… Read more

buy one for me. So I did an experiment. I vacuumed my rug with my Nilfisk (which was a fab lil cleaner). Then went over it like they do on TV. OMG I was shocked at what came out of it even though I vacuum at least twice a week. Even though the suction from my nilfisk was great, the Shark was incredible. I love how the brush rollers pick up hair etc. I have a cat and a long haired husky and we have pet hair in the carpets and everywhere. This cleaner picks it up like it is nothing. When I saw the newer one come out with the foot that you could put floor pads on, I was like oh wow I have to have that. SO I bought it. The pad really did pre mop the floors. But having to change the floor attachment was a bit time consuming. Then next I see this amazing vacuum. No more changing attachments! It still gets all that fine dust etc which is like a pre mop and it saves time not changing over. It is perfection. I use this vacuum almost everyday. Only thing I wish is that they wouldn't have taken away the light on the wand. I got so use to having that on the other 3 units and I miss it like crazy. It is so easy to use. I recommend these to everyone. I would never buy any other brand.

improved warranty – The vacuum cleaner works great. Never had a problem with their product, only their warranty. It seems that another company has taken over the warranty of Shark and they seem to be quite reasonable. A huge improvement since my last post. Summarised in 1 word: wow – My wife complained about the Dyson we had (which is saying something) so I did some research and decided on this vacuum for Christmas (yup she wanted a new vacuum). Having used the Dyson 2 days prior, we were absolutely amazed how this vacuum performed. We literally had to empty the drum for each room and pretty much in shock how much dust and… Read more

crap was in our carpets.

Pros:easy to use, amazing results, helps lift up pile (carpet) a bit, not too loud, good design, lights, easy to empty

Cons: head could be slightly wider

So we only had this a week but wife is very happy. Hopefully it lasts

Had it and left it behind buy it again – Had a Shark while living in the USA but left it when moved to Australia. Recently our vacuum died and without hesitation I went for a Shark again. Best vacuum cleaner ever, light, convenient and best of all efficient. Cleand our tile floors as well as our carpets. Is not cheap but that ensures you won't get cheap results. Sharks are a good investment. Never go back to other brands,  Show details

Best vacuum I've ever had – This vacuum cleans perfectly on carpet or vinyl floors, especially picking up all my dogs hair. Its easy to use with ease and store. Easy to see how much dirt is in the filter which is also very simple to empty. A vacuum that actually does what it says it will.  Show details

Love it! – One of the best purchase i have ever made! Great suction with easy maneuver. Not as light at the cordless but still easy to handle. We have carpet, bamboo & porcelain flooring and couldn't be happier with the purchase. We also have pets around the home. I find the machine not very quiet but decent for a powerhead vacuum cleaner. I have also had dyson in the past and the dyson is nowhere near compared to the shark.  Show details

The best vacuum I've owned and the best company I've dealt with – I purchased my first Shark in 2016 when my Dyson died (that was an $800 waste of money - never worked properly, the cheap plastic bits kept falling off, the cords kept retracting, finally the motor just died). My father said to try the Shark instead (he loved his and it was half the price with twice the power) and it made a HUGE difference -… Read more

cleaning like a monstrous hurricane! I loved it! After 2 and a half years the roller stopped going around, so I asked if they could send me a replacement part. They said, 'Nah, we'll just send you a completely new vacuum cleaner'. I'm not kidding! I have just opened up a brand new machine - sent by courier over night - two and a half YEARS after buying my first one. No charge. Not even postage! One phone call and an emailed proof of purchase - that's all they wanted!

I'm amazed with their fantastically brilliant service AND my terrific vacuum cleaner. This thing makes life so easy. It comes apart to clean easily, it does a great job (it might lift up your rugs, be aware you'll have to stand on them to keep them from being sucked up - it does NOT fool around with that motor power so keep it away from fragile fabrics or curtains as it will destroy delicate things if you're a careless), it's light to push around, the body part comes off so you can get it under furniture easily, it has a bunch of little interchangeable heads, the main head is small and does stairs and tight corners well, and it no bags to mess around with.

This thing is close to perfect and I cannot say enough about their great customer service (customer service is now outsourced to Mann And Noble company who were easy and friendly to deal with and got right onto this issue with a new machine).

And now... I clean!
