Brand Developers, the Australian distributors of Shark Vacuums, have issued a voluntary recall for the Shark Rocket HV300NZ model. For more information about the recall, please visit this link.
Most regrettable purchase – Worst vacuum ever. I have never regretted a purchase as much as this vacuum. It’s not too bad on carpet but on tiles which is the majority of my house it just pushes the dirt and dust around and doesn’t suck it up. I’ve had it less than a year and I’m about to throw it out and go to a different brand. So disappointed

Wonder why its been discontinued ! – I paid over 500.00 for this cleaner in the first yr it was great suction was awesome but then started to get less suction i phoned up company where purchased to buy another filter as I thought this was the problem i had to pay 28.00 not covered under warranty i was told bit unfair paying that much but arrived in post needless to say not the… Read more
problem, sent back under warranty and was told something was in tube,i swear nothing was in tubing as we checked not once or twice but few times sent back to me and still no differant phoned and told them no differant was told if sent back again and they find nothing wrong it was going to cost me I ended up paying 130.00 recieved vacume cleaner back again and was worst than before phoned up and was told if sent back i would now have to pay postage in the end I told them to back off and bought myself a cheap vacume from k mart works like a dream ,,,i was severely ripped off buying this awesome rocket vacume bought from t.v direct never again would I buy from them.
Great vacuum, terrible after service – This was a great vacuum. It has done a great job with pet hair and stairs. It is very portable and easy to use though noisy. I have hard floors. I would recommend it more highly but for the terrible product support. Mine started playing up about 4-5 months ago and I contacted the Australian agent. It seems that they are "in transition" from… Read more
another company and can be no help at all. They have no service centres set up promised to be able to call me back before xmas. Then it was after the xmas holidays. Now I've just given up. I had to buy a cheaper vacuum to tide me over.
To complicate matters it was sold to me without the appropriate filters (it was the floor model) and I don't know where I stand on warranty.
Update:
I eventually managed to get the correct filters from the USA.
I never received any assistance from Shark. Godfrey's were a great help though. The vacuum is working again and still excellent . However the awful after sales support means that I would not buy this brand again.
Superb Machine, Don't let it's size fool you! – I am absolutely blown away by the job this machine has done in only a few days! As a builder i have been through my fair share of commercial and residential vacuum cleaners in 20 years. After using many other more expensive vacuums this beats them all hands down. We have 4 dogs on a bush block and it has removed more hair and fine silt from the… Read more
carpets and rugs than i have ever seen the Dyson or Vax do, which we bought when we moved in, so it shows that the other vacuums just were not doing their job for the last 2 years.
I was dubious about the $399 price tag so when i found it at Harvey Norman this week at $299 i thought i would give it a go.
Well after using it for 48 hours i would now be happy to pay double for it, given the outstanding results.
I thought the lights were just a gimmick but they are handy when using the machine to vacuum down the sides of sofas and units or under beds etc.
Only down side is that the waste collector needs emptying out after a couple of rooms but its no real issue, this will probably decrease after regular use, and less gets extracted from the carpets, as well as our rooms being about 35m2 or larger each.
I would certainly recommend this unit to anyone who wants a fantastic clean by a very competitively priced unit, especially when they are on sale.
6 Month Update:
Still pleased with the machine, and it is still doing a great job on carpets and rugs, fantastic for the animal hair and fluff! I have found that the little filters get dirty and dusty pretty quickly but they're easy to wash out with a little Nappy-San for good measure. I would however recommend getting a couple of spare ones unless you can wash and dry them before the next day's jobs. I base this on the fact that my machine always seems to be on though!

Still have my 2! – What I have learnt is keeping the filters ckllean prolongs thelifeofhisproduct. Purchased another due to its compactibility- was advised by a fri3nd to claim warranty as Shark offered a 5year warranty of this product- so ended up with 2. It come with many floor attachments- Our household mainly uses the motorised head for caroets and the flat head… Read more
for our wooden floors. Suction is still strong-due to keeping the filter free from dust- monthly requirement at most. Small collection tray, however isnt a big deal to walk to the bin and empty with a single click. As a domestic cleaner myself- this product far out-weighs the battery operated competitors as it has a plug. Battery operated devices are poor due to battery life- especially for kondomari type cleans- where the house needs more than an hour of max power operation. Love my little shark!
Fantastic, better than my previous dyson – Best Vac I have had being a pet owner, so many great attachments, it sucks up everything and is easy to empty/clean! I am still getting loads out of the carpet from the previous tenants that lived here, so glad I purchased this machine, highly recommend to anyone looking for an easy to use and powerful machine Show details
Got this instead of the Dyson – We have a puppy and reading others review about how effective they are for pet hair, we went with this over the Dyson and never looked back. I cant really think of better machine for spot cleaning and its just brilliant on the stairs. Easy to use and easy to empty out. Highly recommended to all! Show details

waste of money – bought from Godfreys, one of shitest products i have ever bought, no sucking power, bought exteneded warranty, but godfreys are good for nothing, done nothing with product gave it back a i gave them Show details
Don't use on hardwood floors – I use my shark for vacuuming the carpets and it works well. I would not advise using it on hardwood floors. I have gone back to using my old dyson on the hardwood floors as the shark has scratched the flooring. I also don't like that the power cord has to be manually wound back up. Show details
What a waste of money – I have had this product for a few years - maybe 4. It's hardly had any use as I have wooden floors and only use it on my rugs and, although it has a hard floor attachment, it does not clean the floors to my expectation. So, for a product to have had relatively very little use, for it to stop working properly is not acceptable. I'm not even… Read more
going to ring Sharp to have it replaced under warranty because I don't want another one. I few weeks ago, the long wand kept getting blocked ..... I'd clear it and it would happen again. It appears that the motor has lost it's ability to suck the dust any further up the wand and into the dust canopy. I'm going to Kmart to buy something that works.

Did the job well now I can really say Shark is the best – No fuss no changing vac heads good suction. Had it 8 years need another. Apparently they discontinued this model why it's a shame. Show details
It’s been pretty good – Bought around late 2013 to early 2014 fairly pricey then and I paid in instalments. It’s first used on carpet and tiles and worked fine. The cord can be irritating but I wanted it to work when I needed and not be reliant on battery charged or not. Later moved home with hardwood floors (oiled) still worked fine but the power head tends to sometimes… Read more
kick debris around a bit too much. Also when I say worked fine, need to clean filters regularly and empty the hopper. Bad filters I found affected the performance. I don’t mind the weight at top of stick but daughter being smaller disliked the weight a bit. Have had to buy new replacement filters since being new and a new hose for the power head. The hose in the elbow of the power head late in 2021 decided to break and could also see other holes in it, also answered our question as to why it started to not suck stuff up properly with the head. The attachments are handy with occasional use. Would I get it again? If it was back then a yes. Today for a new one, will go and see what the competitors are like and price before perhaps doing Shark.
Divideded – I'm not sure if i am 100% happy with this product i find it blocks really easily and the roller on the bottom tends to not roll when its full..i loved all the attachments that i purchased with it car detailer ect i use it everyday..i purchased the shark lift away that i had for years prior that i loved but just dont think this model is as good Show details

I should have bought Dyson! – Both floorboards and carpets. It's practical to dismantle and clean but after less than 2 years does not suck and keep dirt any more: It sucks it and then expels it. So I end up with floors and carpets full of dirt of all kinds after using it. Maintaining the filter and other parts of the machine clean of any dirt makes no difference to its performance. Definitely poor value for money. Show details
Don’t waste your money – I purchased this vacuum as I previously owned a shark navigator lift away ( great vacuum as far as suction but I have literally had to rebuild and cover the entire hosing throughout the vacuum with duct tape as the hoses keep splitting). The rocket was a huge disappointment and I have persevered for 12 months but it has not got any better. I have… Read more
hard floors (timber) and it is terrible. The head vibrates - supposedly beating the carpet to remove dust which is useless for hard floors. On my rugs it is no better it took me over an hour to vacuum a 240 x 120 rug to remove pet hair (and it wasn’t that hairy). Suction is terrible, performance overall terrible. Don’t waste your money on this vacuum. 0 stars.
Absolutely brilliant vacuum – I use this vacuum on both hardwood polished floor boards and it’s absolutely perfect for both. Love all the different attachments for the vacuum. I have a new lounge and the motorized head for cleaning the lounge is great. The whole design of the vacuum is great it’s easy to use and cleans floor to ceilings beautifully. Would highly recommend Show details
Not exactly what I was looking for – I am happy with the suction power works on all floors. Like the light weight and easy to maneuver. However, not happy it does not have lights, absolutely don't like how to empty the canister and don't like how I have to release the wand. low rating on the product Show details
Good vacuum – I purchased this vacuum cleaner in April 2018. It is still a good vacuum cleaner but you have to hand wash the microfibres cloth after every use when you vacuum hard wood floors or it won’t vacuum properly the next time you use it. I have a pet that lives indoors 50% of the time and I don’t know if that makes a difference. Over all a good vacuum. Show details
I love it – I’ve done a lot of research about selecting the right vacuum before I found shark rocket HV 320. Couldn’t be happier about my choice. I like its compact design and strong suction. It’s easy for me to maneuver and runs smoothly on my carpet. I am also a fan of the limited amount of space it takes to store and the ease with which it can be transformed from floor vac to handheld and back. Show details
Ok for hair, not for dirt – The good points: Its easy to maneuver, has an LED light on the head so you can see under tables and dark corners, very light and the head lays flat to get right underneath things and it will reach to the back. The bad points: Has trouble lifting sand and larger particles. The design of the machine isn't bad, but it will only ever be a hair and… Read more
fur vacuum. Just did the vacuuming 10 min ago and I was stepping on sand where I had run over that area already, so I had to go back over it again 3 times. You can't leave the machine attached to the wand for stand-up storage because it is too heavy and it falls over. The other thing I like to use a vacuum for is the car, but this particular machine is too bulky for doing the sides of the footwells. There isn't the maneuverability for car cleaning. Overall, it's just not powerful enough for everyday cleaning.
Very disappointed that it started out well but finished badly – The performance was fine until the hose in the power head split. Loss of suction and blocking up all the time. Was easy to maneuver. Was used on two carpet pieces approx 2mtres x 2metres, and 2 rooms of tiled floors of average size. Performance had been diminishing over time until we realized what the problem was. Show details
Powerful And Works Well – This vacuum is an absolute powerhouse and does everything those Dysons do without the crazy price tag. When I first opened it I though oh-oh its made from cheap plastic , but once I assembled it and turned it on, it was a different story. It is SO powerful for it size and the attachments make it useful is so many places. It really is a great little maneuverable vacuum Show details

Good value compared to dyson – Felt a bit flimsy at first, but its actually pretty sturdy and built well for the price. Would recomend if you don't want to spend loads on a vacuum but still want a fair bit of quality snd good suction. Fits really easily under the stairs too which is a plus! Show details
So Good! – Love this machine. It actually does everything it claims to. Its really powerful, it has really handy attachments that you actually use. Good design, intuitive - and LIGHT! I bought it for my mum who's not so strong and mobile as she couldn't heft her big vacuum cleaner around anymore. She absolutely adores it. Show details
Excellent! – I was super impressed with the Shark Trupets performance. The super strong suction means the vacuum basically pulls itself! It has a really long power chord which makes multiple rooms easier. It is easy to carry. Works amazing on my carpet and has mutliple different attatchments which means it can clean hardwood too. Would highly reccomend. Show details
Great vacuum less than ordinary customer service – As far as performance goes can't fault the vacuum, but the after sale service is terrible the motorised powerhead has gone (burnt out) i have had the vacuum at godfreys for assistance their repairer can't get the parts so emailed Shark no reply after two weeks so I rang them and waited on the phone for 30-40 minutes and then gave up, I emailed… Read more
again it's now been two more weeks. Godfreys have told me the vacuum has a 5 year warranty so i'll be making a claim if I can catch up with this rather elusive company. I hold out very little hope, but i'll try.
Has had 3 power heads in 4 months – The power head has been replaced 2 times already and appears to be melting in the same location again after only 3-4 uses in our home...We are senior citizens with a 1700 sq ft home so I would not consider this as an abuse...previous Shark we owned lasted 4+ years so I felt comfortable buying another...would never buy another after this even… Read more
though the head gets replaced free each time...eventually the warranty will run out and will be in the need of a new vacuum.
5 Stars all the Way! – I wanted to get this Vacuum Cleaner for a long time and I'm so glad I did! I just love this Vacuum Cleaner! Very light and easy to maneuver. So easy to use, no longer dragging a heavy vacuum drum behind you. The only downside is that the Filter needs to be cleaned regularly. I would definitely recommend this to everyone! Show details
Shark Rocket True Per – I was amazed at the suction level of this machine and how quickly it does the job. It is a little bit heavy for me but the performance outlays this. Its really easy to clean the filter and the brush roller as well and removing the brush is easy I have previously had a Dyson and wanted another but after trying the rocket it’s actually better I think Show details
Hard Floor Genie (replacement) – This vacuum cleaner performance well, although I found it quite heavy to use when using the Hard Floor attachment. Very convenient when you want to use the hand held part and change attachments for different uses. I am however, very disappointed when it comes to servicing the vacuum parts. Since last October I have been going through 'BRAND… Read more
DEVELOPERS LTD" and 'MANN-Noble" seeking replacement for Hard Floor Genie still under warranty.
Now dealing with Mann-Noble, who have been stating "Parts have not yet come to us from the previous company" Have called on several occasions and months. Now it is end of March and I have been ringing them all morning with no avail.
Finally left a message, And I am sincerely hoping that they will reply. SHARK should stand by their product and customers.
Vacuum that’s actually works – I did buy the pro with all the equipments that came with it. Definitely does the job that I expected, I can use nozzle in the places where I can get with regular vacuum. Different nozzles for different things, I can use it for windows, under the bed, top of the shelves work great Show details
I LOVE SHARK VACUUM – I love the performance of this vacuum. It's suction is amazing. This is my second shark, got it because of the handiness of it, then I gave my grand daughter my first shark vacuum with orders for her to take good care of it because shark is the best. It is light, easy to maneuver and it is quiet also. I clean the filters each time I use it,… Read more
which helps to keep the suction so much better. I have carpet and also linoleum flooring. You also have to keep the hair cut out of the brush area for good suction and just to keep your vacuum working better. I love Shark and would not purchase any other type of vacuum.
Fantastic – This vac is so versatile & being disabled it's important that it's light & easy to use as well as getting the job done. I absolutely love it. It comes with a range of attachments that are easily changed & it doesn't break my back using it, in fact it practically drives itself. My carpets & floors have never been cleaner & in such a short space of time & it's so easy to store unlike the clunky barrel vacs Show details
Brilliant for carpets not so good on tiles – Purchased Jan 2018. Still great value overall. Easy maneuverability, easy to empty, keeps suction and does a very good job on carpets. However, not that good on tiles. Pushes the dirt forward and then all dirt comes back even with the low setting for tiles. At first I thought it was what I was looking for. Show details
Love My Shark – Having a pet and being able to get up all the pet hairs is great. ti is amazing just how much dust fluff it picks up also , very very easy to clean out and the fact that it is clear you can see at a glance when it needs to be emptyed heaps attachments also for all jobs around the house, Its light and very good at picking up. I love my Shark Rocket. Show details
