ShopAbroad again, especially as it turned out that I am not the only one to be frustrated. After years of buying through Amazon (Australia), this is the first time I have had this type of trouble, so I will read reviews beforehand, not afterward. Somewhere in there, "Australia" was mentioned in the buying options.
Ordered two books via Amazon - neither arrived – Don’t bother with this service. I ordered two books from ShopAbroad via Amazon. ShopAbroad Fishpond – I purchased this book from Amazon.com.au through *** ShopAbroad *** and I received it from *** Fishpond ***, 5/7 Julian Close, Banksmeadow, NSW. all four corners of the book were cut off and made rounded, which started to split during shipping. I requested a full refund as I will not accept a replacement as I do not trust the seller to provide an undamaged and unaltered book as a replacement. But no, they want me to pay for the shipping back to them, which will be $15.75. If I do that, I lose OVER a quarter of the price I will be refunded.
UPDATE (8 July at 13.57): [Name Removed] from Customer Service, ShopAbroad/Fishpond promised me they would refund my shipping, but have not!
UPDATE (12 July at 18.52): I have finally received a refund for the postage I paid to get this book back to ShopAbroad Fishpond. Thank you, Madel and Katrina, much appreciated!
I would suggest you are very sure about buying from this shop before forking out your hard-earned money. Although, they did deliver what I wanted in the end, I did not appreciate the hassle and experience I had to get my refund.
