I purchased one of the Simply Big large mobile phones, but on receipt realised that it didn't include internet access, which I need. I contacted the company and I can't praise them highly enough for their excellent customer service. retailer for the first time and living in another state, one does wonder what will happen. Additionally, it appears that I made a mistake when ordering. all this led to wondering if I would get a hot water dispenser, or had I just donated to the cyber gods
Well, the unit is set up in our breakfast bar and has produced its very first mug of hot water all under the watchful eyes of the domestic manager and her assistant.
I guess the above is a long-winded way of saying thank you for fantastic service. If the product is even half as good as the service, we will be very happy indeed.

Perfect Clock for Alzheimer patients – What a difference this clock has made for my Alzheimers partner. I did extensive research online and checked what was available in store and thought the Simply Big phone seemed like one of the better choices.
It is quite a nice phone. The raised buttons are great, the screen is clear and easy to read, and the sound quality of calls is good. There are some things I don't like. The instructions are inadequate and the ring tone when making a call sounds like an engaged signal. The issue with the phone is that I am only able to receive calls and texts from one family member who is on the same household account.
The phone is not receiving calls or texts from anyone else, it does not receive one time pass codes, medical reminder texts or 2FA codes.
I have wasted hours communicating with Telstra with no resolve. The suggested doing a sim swap which hasn't made any difference.
Simply Big were polite and responded to my requests/complaints but conceded they couldn't help and refunded the full purchase amount. They were very slow however in the way they handled support and drip fed follow up questions over several days. I found this delay very frustrating and any information they required to follow up the issues should have requested in one email.
Ultimately I wasted a lot of time, gave up on the Simply Big phone and bought another brand of phone.
Simply Big appear to have a lot of happy customers. Shortly after purchase (and before I had a chance to properly road test the phone) they sent me an email inviting me to review the phone. I'm wary of reviews published on company websites where they are the sellers of the products or services, especially when all of the reviews are "good", so hence I'm posting my review on here.
Update: After wasting several hours of contact with Telstra, I finally got the phone to work. Telstra did some tweaks their end but ultimately what got the phone to work correctly was after putting in the new sim, it needed a factory reset. That was a suggestion made by one of the Telstra staff (there was nothing in the instructions). I'm using another phone which was working immediately after putting in the sim. It shouldn't have been that hard to get the phone to work as it should.
Another update May 2024 In fairness to Simply Big, they have treated me very well. I received a lengthy email from the [Name Removed] with an apology and explanation of what went wrong. It was never my intention to discredit this company. The issues I went through were awful but it seems there were some misunderstandings when I lodged my request for help. The company thought I had taken out one of their plans (it's not) and weren't able to locate my ph number in their system which caused a delay. Plus because I wasn't able to get the phone to work properly, I was getting concerned about not having a phone and I asked to return the phone. This mean that the SB didn't follow up with a resolve as they refunded me. Hopefully this is an isolated incident but if anyone has similar issues, when you contact SB help, let them know if your service is provided by them or not. I also trust that SB help will be better equipped to ask the right questions.
