You should not consider this dryer an "investment"....
Hi I bought a 5kg Simpson dryer and mounted it upside down. The lint filter is now upside down too and any solid particles fall out when the door is opened. Is it possible to rotate the insert that contains the filter so it's upright at the bottom of the door? Regards Denise

Hi customer care,
I have the above dryer purchased probably only 3 years ago and recently it has started to make a high pitched 'wheezing' noise accompanied by a burning electrical smell. I am too worried to use it now should it set itself on fire. Can you help me diagnose the problem or do I need to get someone out or would it be better just to get a new dryer. It's just 3 years is not a very long time, and I don't use it much as I mostly line dry.
Regards,
Karlene.

I am about to replace a Simpson 4kg that has hardly been used. Is it worth getting fixed? Drum doesn't turn and there is a quiet hum from the timer. Any ideas. is it worth getting a repairer out? Does anyone know when the brackets changed as I plan to get another Simpson, just so I can use the same brackets and I read that they are different now.
no
I have had my Simpson 6KG Dryer (39S600M) for less than 2 years and hardly even used it (only for emergencies) My daughter put her school socks in for 10 minutes before school, then next time I went to use it, it wouldn't work. There is just a faint humming sound. I guess the warranty would be run out by now :( I wish the warranty was based on hours of use, as I probably only used it for 10 hours maximum. Is it worth getting fixed or not?
yes may just be the belt fallen off

We have the same dryer and it does the same thing, our dryer worked ok for longer before suffering the same issue as yours. We have to manually spin the bowl in order for it to start then as soon as it stops to change direction it just starts up humming and you have to open the door and manually spin the bowl to start it again only for it to do the same again. Checked the belt which seems to be in good order and has not stretched so I doubt that is the issue, maybe someone from Simpson could give us the answer, if they care!
What's the size of the big belt the lady at the shop needs to match it with old 1, but I live to far from shop to just fly home and get it?

Hi Sarah333,
Probably a good idea to contact Marina at Electrolux as they are the experts. We did mount our dryer upside down, this was so that I could reach the controls, being a bit vertically challenged! Good luck with your dryer.
