Simple and not fancy, but works great! – I bought this Simpson dryer almost two years now. I use it very often but it works beautifully...simply get the job done. The appliance comes with a simple design with a rotary dial and no sophisticated display. I have a feeling that this appliance can last for next few more years. Show details

VERY POOR CHOICE - Bye Bye Electrolux – I have been buying Simpson washing machines and dryers for more than 25 years but my latest two Simpson machines purchased from Harvey Norman at Chadstone are nowhere near as good as the previous Simpson products. My 9kg Simpson washing machine is very light and flimsy and needed a new spare part within a few months. And now my one year old 5kg… Read more

Simpson dryer is faulty and it will take over a week to fix even though it has a six year extended warranty. I really thought that they would replace rather than repair within the TWO YEAR warranty period. I feel like I have bought a second hand car. Simpson/Electrolux have said I may even have to pay for parts and labour to fix the dryer EVEN with the TWO YEAR manufacturer's warranty still in place. Bye bye Simpson/Electrolux. No more junk for me. Electrolux, you should hang your head in shame. I am not part of your R&D team. I am also not happy with Harvey Norman. They should explain the manufacturer's warranty a bit more carefully. But hey what would I know I am only a customer and I paid the full price asked....no haggling. When I bought the machine I was told if faulty it would be replaced. But it will only be replaced after the TWO YEAR makers warranty runs out and the Product Care then takes over. Amazing. Would I buy a Simpson product again - No way. Would I encourage others to buy - I regret to say - No way. I think by the time I finish arguing with the manager at Harvey Norman and Electrolux PLUS having to wait for their mechanic to look at the dryer I figured it will be far more expensive time-wise than the machine itself. Amazing. Such a waste of time and energy. In the mean time I have to buy another dryer and guess what!!!!!! It will not be a Simpson and it will not be from Harvey Norman - They used to be so easy to deal with.

Great – I thought my Hoover was good for lasting 31 yrs but this one is so much better at drying and doesn't blow dust everywhere like the last one. Good on electricity too. I'm a happy customer thus far. Can recommend to anyone needing a new dryer or wanting to update their old one. Price was reasonable too.  Show details

Can try it – If you are looking for dry dryers, you can try them. It's perfect for our needs. The drying machine has the basic control device, the use is convenient. Mainly in rainy days with my dryer. It has a very small voice and dries quickly. You can set the time you want it to run so that it can be manipulated on one side.  Show details

Great dryer – I've found this dryer to be really reliable especially at it's price point. It's not ideal for really gentle requirements but for a family of 4 with loads of clothes to dry it does an excellent job. Does create a lot of moisture in the air though which is the only downfall. It's now 8 years old and going strong.  Show details

A sad choice – The dryer does not dry the clothes and I would have to run it again. As compared to my previous make & model, this is utterly disappointing. The lint and hot air from the clothes comes out from the front instead of providing a hose to remove the hot air from the rear of the machine. No hose was provided for the exhaust from the front.  Show details

Great simple dryer – I just wanted a basic dryer to dry clothes during winter and in case of emergencies. I looked at several options from expensive to cheap and this dryer seemed to do the trick since I'm not planning on using it very often. The 5kg drum is a great size and it's super simple to use. Been great!  Show details

Excellent Simspon Reliability – This is out third Simspson clothes dryer over many years. We always but=y them beacause they are so simple and reliable. I have had the back off before and there is nothing to them. A drum, a belt and a heating element plus a timer. Simple is best with things like this and I expect to get a long service life from it  Show details

Perfect – This dryer is amazing I can’t fault it! The dial is perfect and hasn’t been playing up like I have heard others have! They make the clothes very hot and it’s so great but not for towels as they unravel in the dryer but overall it’s a great dryer !  Show details

Really excellent dryer – This dryer dries quickly and is easy to use. It’s really easy to clean the lint tray out as it’s near the front of the machine. It has a super long cycle which is useful as I can put it on, go to bed and know whatever I’m drying is guaranteed to be dry in the morning. I definitely recommend this drier.  Show details

Reliable Simpsons Dryer – I had no doubts about which brand of dryer to buy after our last Simpson put in nearly 20 years work. They are solid, reliable and simple dryers that just work. Controls are simple, just high and low heat and the timer. Mounting on the wall is easy too with the wall mount bracket. I trust this brand and hope to get another 20 years,  Show details

Reliable Dryer – Simpson make good simple products that last well. We had a Simpson washer my whole childhood - the same one the whole time. They may not have all the fancy electronic controls but I see that as more complexity to go wrong. This dryer is the same, a simple design that works very well. It always starts and I never have to think about it other than… Read more

occasionally remember to clean the lint out. It can take a whole load strength from the washer and doesn't make much noise either. Its a great simple dryer

Good Quality Tumble Dryer – The Simpson EZILoader SDV501 Tumble Dryer is much better than the previous models of Simpson Tumble Dryers. In particular it is less noisy than previous models. The manufacturers claim that the new models will dry a 6kg load in the time that 4.5kg dry on other older models, In my experience this claim seems to be accurate. These design… Read more

changes also include relocating the Tumble Dryer Heating Element so it is located away from the drum for improved safety.

This model now has a better drying action which involves the drum reversing and the rotating in anti-clockwise and then clockwise every minute, This is claimed to help reduce tangling and results in more even drying of items.

It also has a cooling down period at the end of drying cycle to help minimize creasing of items.

I am very pleased with the Simpson Tumble Dryers I have purchased and will continue to purchase them in future.

Good Family Dryer – This does us very well indeed. It is a simple 5KG dryer. Nice and simple not too complicated. I literally have no complaints of any kind, It does exactly what I expect - spins and dries clothes and gives no trouble. You can tell it's not as sturdy as they used to be back in the day but it works as well as always. A good choice  Show details

Nice an Simple - Does The Job Reliably – We have had this workhorse for about two years - never misses a beat. I like to keep things simple (less things to go wrong) and this dryer does just that. It has a rotary timer, not computer electronics and it works a treat. You do need to remember to empty out the "pancake" of lint from the door filter from time to rime n but apart from that… Read more

its keeps on keeping on/

Simple and reliable, like the old days!

I would suggest getting the 5KG version, even for a single person, as that size is best for doonas and bedding.

A good basic dryer.

Works adequately – Bought it 4 months ago and I think that it is functional and quite worth the buy. It has not broken down on me so far and for a normal load usually it takes about 1hr 15 minutes to dry. Easy to operate and understand, easy to take out the filter to clean the dust.  Show details

Great dryer – This dryer is great I use mine every day and I have 3 kids so you can imagine how much washing I have. It dries equally, so easy to operate, very easy to clean & decent size inside so I’m not struggling to fit in a full wash. Would definitely recommend to anyone.  Show details

SIMPSON EZI LOADER 5kg. WHAT A GREAT MACHINE!!!! – We had a lightning strike and we lost many electrical items with the surge. One of my friends went west, my much loved uncomplicated Fisher and Paykel no nonsense clothes dryer. Had to replace it and went off to buy another one the same. But the manufacturer decided we should all go electronic and added many features plus a very big price tag,… Read more

none of which I wanted. So I looked for another brand which wasn't electronic and found the Simpson. I upgraded to a 5 kilo from the 4 I'd always had. The Simpson is definitely a much better built dryer. Lots of improvements over the Fisher and Paykel. Just for starters the lint catcher is bigger and stronger made and it catches everything. No lint ever on anything I've dried. Being bigger there's more room for air inside which dries my clothes faster and when I need to dry a large item like a blanket it will dry it completely. The machine is quiet and has a trusty dial at the front and it takes no time to figure out how long a load will take to dry when the washing is repetitive. i.e. sheets, towels etc. Being bigger too, things come out with fewer creases, There's only two of us here so the loads are never huge. I really love this product. It was funny, when an electrician came to look at my damaged items and I showed him my old dryer, he turned to me and said, gee I hope you bought a Simpson and I laughed with surprise and said yes, I did. He said it's the best made dryer on the market and much better to have a dial than the electronics because there is so much which can go wrong with them, but the dial is easy and durable. So I'm happy. I bought the dryer from Harvey Norman. They really look after me price-wise and they're always willing to beat a better price if you can find one. So if you're looking for a dryer with muscles and not a massive price tag, have a look at the Simpson. You can even get bigger ones in the same range. Happy drying, Dianne.

It's a good dryer ! – I really like my dryer, I like the air sense drying concept it saves energy. I also.like the energy rating on them. The only thing g I don't like is the way the filter is. I do t like the way doesn't seem to gather all the lint and it accumulates around the inside rim of the barrel.  Show details

Great simple manual dryer – Have been living without a dryer for about 8 months trough a winter and decided it was time to replace an old hoover that finally stopped working after 20+ years. door seemed to be a little flimsy compared to the Fisher & Paykel model but it has not been a problem. So if your in the market for a basic dryer absent of all the electronics that quickly stop working, i suggest this model it does what it is supposed to do just dry clothes with an option for delicate items with less heat. Bought this online and on sale with the old dryer taken away.

Ok – Got this washing machine for my parents after the one that they had used for over 15 years finally broke. The previous one they had was a Simpson. Very handy in wet weather – Great to get the washing done and dried all in one day. Couldnt live without it. More economical to use then I thought it would be. Quiet and good size to fit in the laundry. Cleaning the lint filter is easy and doesnt take much effort at all. Would thoroughly recommend this product.  Show details

Dries quicker – Love my new Simpson SDV501. Put it on for a set time 30-40-45 mins - and it dries and cools down whilst airing. My old dryer needed longer to dry and was hot at the end. Items come out crease free, fluffy and dry. Loving the results so far. Hope the electricity bill reflects.  Show details

Dries well – I was looking for a reasonably priced drier, and I am happy with the way this dries our clothes, and the fact that it doesn't take too long. It is quiet however, the only problem with it is that it does use a lot of power, but its not easy to get a reasonably price dryer that is efficient too.  Show details
