One of the lucky ones! – Had ours for 6yrs and have had no issues. I agree that the quick cycle takes a long time and spin cycle noisy, but for the price range, we’re happy! Show details

Horrible – Simpson are refusing to post my review on their site, this machine is extremely faulty and was on the verge of causing a house fire. Do not buy, we have owned it 6 years and brought it brand new in 2012. Show details

Noisy but reliable! – This machine is cheap, inefficient, plain looking and like others have stated many times before, very noisy on spin cycle. Despite these obvious flaws, its never let me down in 4 years. I've just upgraded to a larger machine 3 times more expensive and about 10 times better in every area but I know if my new machine broke down, the Simpson machine… Read more

would pickup from where it left off and for a machine less than $500 4 years ago, that's good value.

No problems in 6 years! – The spin can be a bit loud, but our laundry is very open & echoey. Have not had a single problem, except what I would class as normal wear & tear - the front door seal does have some mould in the inner well and I am looking for a replacement seal.  Show details

Works as it should, still Happy nearly two years later – I bought this machine from Masters Home Improvement in June 2013 for around $450. It was on special at the time and great value for the size. 18 months on we are still pleased with our machine, having had no issues at all. I have noted a few other reviewers mentioning small items getting stuck in the door seal during the cycle...this happens to me… Read more

as well, generally with socks, but I just squeeze out any excess water and they're ready to be hung out. No need to go a negative reviewing rampage over a wet sock ;) It can also be a bit loud as it begins the spin cycle, but this doesn't particularly bother me. Having reached this age of the machine with no hassles thus far I would say I am very pleased and would recommend it to others.

Heating element failure after 5 years – I've only had the machine 5 years and the heating element failed. Then the dispenser for softener failed. I hadn't noticed for quite a while until I noticed stains were not being removed and clothes were not smelling quite as fresh. We then used a friend's washer, whilst house sitting, and the difference was like night and day. When I got home and… Read more

ran a 60'C wash it was evident that the element had failed. I visually checked the element through the filter flap and it looked in really bad condition. It is still washing with detergent and cold water which is about as good as it gets at the moment. I don't think a washing machine should be failing within 5 years especially when its in a household of only 2 people. I'm currently shopping for a new one but don't think it will be Simpson this time.

Value for a cheaper machine – The machine washes the clothes well enough for a machine in this price range. Yes it is a very noisy spin cycle and the fast wash is an hour long. My biggest problem is trying to remove be the mound from the rubber ring. I have left the door open after washes but the mound growing is hard to remove because of the design of the ring. Will keep the machine until it breaks but would not purchase again because of the difficulty to clean  Show details

Not very likeable – The machine has a fast wash option that go on for about 1 hour, i have yet to use the other washing options for fear that it will take 3 hours or something. It is also very very loud when it rinses, drains or spins. Not to mention it wobbles a lot when it spins that it felt like a mini earthquake. It is one of the most inefficient washing machine I have used.  Show details

Awful machine – Cycles go forever. It is very loud, similar to a small aircraft taking off. Hurts my ears. 3 years old and is now making sound like there is a chunk of metal loose inside. The seal has now stretched and out of shape. I'm dismantling it, using the guts as a fire pit and going back to Bosch.  Show details

Eco credentials???! – As a washing machine it works... ie it washes clothes pretty well (slightly better than other machines). BUT... if you have any concern about your electricity bill &/or hot water bill don't go anywhere near this product! If you value energy consumption esp coal fired power supply just stop reading this and look at something else! This machine… Read more

has a single water inlet... you can choose to hook it up to a hot or cold outlet. Rather than choosing a wash grade (eg heavy or lite) you get to choose a temperature... minimum is 30 deg C unless you choose 'handwash' cycle which has a cold option. The machine has an inbuilt heating element so that it can heat water to 'set' temperature.

If you connect to a cold water outlet a wash cycle takes aaaaaages at the lowest temp setting ie 30degC. I can't even imagine how long it would take on a higher setting.

If you connect to a hot water outlet a wash cycle will empty your hot water tank in a single go!

You've been warned!

Faulty – Just 3 years old and died. Very disappointed. Always sounded like an aircraft taking off and now sounds like the wheels have fallen off. Wish i hadn't brought it. I contacted where purchased from and 2 yrs that's it. Called a repair company and costs more than the purchase price to get someone out and pay for parts in advance. What the?? Not happy. Shocker of a machine – Its very loud and very slow to do a load, since purchasing the machine just over 2 years ago the lint filter has never needed to be emptied or cleaned. like stains on most of it like i wore it to a mechanic shop and done a service on a car and used it to clean my hands afterwards and used stain remover to try to fix it and failed i wore it once and can never wear it again unless i wear it to go paintball or something worst machine ever worst part is i wanted a washer/dryer in one and was told they did not exist and then told i was ahead of my time so i took this thing home and then the first friend i go and visit and tell em bout my new machine and the story of my new idea and my friend takes me to his laundry and shows me his washer/dryer unit. It must of been the reps first day and knew nothing about his product or it was the reps last day and he sold that out of spite to give the place headaches now he was leaving. Or my most plausable idea and the one i beleived most likely happened is there was a in house promotion that envolved that model by either extra comms persale or a group target that give the office a reward if hitting it with that model in particular either a group effort or it a compition

Worst washing machine I've ever owned – So slow. FAST wash cycle takes hours!!! And there's no way to know how long a cycle should last (neither manual nor washing machine tell you). Clothes never smell fresh following a wash. Items always get stuck in the seal no matter what I do. Has leaked water all over the floor. Doesn't fit all that much for a 7kg washing machine. Probably will not be getting a Simpson or a front loader ever again.  Show details

Just over 12 month warranty- nothing but problems since beginning – Firstly bowl would not turn and smoke, ERR keep coming up and keep checking manual to do what it says, does it on its own, now switch for door is stuffed and will not work, not under warranty, $77 call out and another $150 to fix but a two week wait for switch. Will never buy Simpson again, crappy product and a rip off. Thanks! I am a single mum and had to loan to buy this one and now just 15 months later I am looking again, way to go!!!

Funky smell – We have had the Simpson Ezi sensor front loader for 5 years (bought second hand) and it has been pretty good, leaks a bit and had to replace some seals but lately it seems to be giving off a smell like electrical smoke. It still works fine and washes the clothes but they smell funny

won't unlock – I have tried everything to open the door, waited for 3 minutes as manual said, even waited overnight last night but I believe the only way to open it is with a crowbar. Any other suggestions? The main other problems I experienced was that a cycle took an incredibly long time.

It Is Not That Old And Has Been Making A Terrible Noise For A While. Now It Won't Go At All – When it worked it washed and rinsed reasonably well. Sometimes black items would come out with residual powder on them. It was making a horrendous noise and now has stopped altogether. We are extremely disappointed with this item as we researched several and thought we were making a good choice.

Two problems in within 2 years – The water pump broke after 18months, now it's leaking. Definitely not overloading it. Definitely using the right amount of detergent. Incredibly loud and small items get stick in the rim. My favourite top was torn up. Nothing was jamming the door when it was closed. I really regret buy this!

So disappointed with the brand name "Simpson" – For years the "Simpson" brand has been a good reliable brand to buy for quality and price. So when my daughter seen that this machine was on special she bought two of them one for herself and being the wonderful daughter that she is she bought one for mother as well. And for the first year we noticed that the vibrations on the spin cycle were… Read more

actually moving the machine and the sound that it made, could only be described as jumbo jet landing which was a worry and a week after the warranty had expired the rubber seal inside the rim had come out during the spin cycle and started to melt with the heat, which ruined her clothes that were in the machine, the machine has never worked again. She did phone Simpson to speak to some one about her issues and she was told that her warranty had expired and there was nothing they could do.

And 2 x days ago my machine went which is just dead no lights or anything.

So I have just gone on line to look up the user manual and have stumbled onto this review site and I am just shocked to see how many customers have experienced the same problems with there washing machines as my daughter and I have had. And the feed back provided to customers from "Simpson" is even worst, it seems that even if your washing machine is still under warranty the repairman that completed the jobs were useless and most of the machines need to fixed more than once for the same problem and if the warranty had expired it was even easier for them "sorry we can't help". So Simpson are not really accepting responsible for there product which was a surprise because they have now discontinued this washing machine. So I think that when a product has been taken off the market by the company they are fully aware that it is faulty. But really don't want to accept responsibility to there customers and our machines were 24 months old.

Short life span – I loved my machine, it was reasonably priced, and did a great job. However it was pretty loud and I found myself running in to pause it is a had a child asleep in the house. Just after 4 years old, it died yesterday. just will not turn on, hubby has tried a dpfew different things and we can not get anything. Pretty short lifespan for a washing machine don't you think? point that the sound coming from it was deafening. Today the machine took the problem to new heights, when removing a load of washing I noticed that the rubber seal between the drum and door had twisted around to the point that I am afraid to put on another load incase the machine disintegrates. I am having to purchase another washing machine which will not be a Simpson as I need a washing machine that is reliable and one that will last longer than 21 months. As a family with kids I do not have the luxury of arguing for a reimbursement as the mountain of washing is piling up as you read this.

Great if you like a flooded laundry on every wash – I bought this front loader on 15.05.2010 and also purchased the extended warranty. It was my 1st front loader but my biggest mistake. Works just as it should. Fast, quiet. Straightforward controls. Nothing not to like – Machine was cheapest available front loader with 1000 rpm spin. Has cold cycle, and can easily be set to wash as you wish. Ever so loud – This washing machine was a gift from our parents and at the outset we had a maintenance person take a look because it was and is astonishingly loud - and were told that that is how front loaders sound. Terrible wash – I totally agree with Jane Currie. This machine does not wash the clothes at all. I need to soak anything that is soiled first. Everything comes out dull and grey. My sons are teased by their teammates about the colour of their bright (not) orange socks. Small items get stuck in the rim and are not washed. I now am looking for a brand that actually washes. I wish that I had seen the reviews before I purchased this machine.

My first front loader. Goes okay I guess – It washes well. It seems to have a very long cycle length, even on a quick wash - but I'm not sure if this is something specific to this machine, or front loaders in general. reviews, has me worried about the longevity of the machine. I can tell when it is getting close to finishing the cycle... we refer to it getting "ready to launch" with how noisy it is (despite being perfectly level). washes well, little boys socks get stuck on the seal part mid-wash so potentially don't wash/spin properly, no time indicator, three minute wait after wash to be able to open door is irritating, LOUD during spin cycle
