3 burner and heats up anything super fast. Sure you can't fit 4 massive pots on this cooktop, but honestly how often do you need that? 99 percent of the time meals are cooked with one or two pots or pans and this is perfect. We've had this cooktop for a few months now and would buy it again in a heartbeat, it's robust and stylish. Given its a purchase that you will use for years I think it's worth it to pay a few more bucks for quality.

PS The guys and girls at Winning Appliances at Northmead were terrific, very patient as I took my time to really sus out the best cooktop, and their Handycrew installers were most professional. With these sort of installations you always expect something to go amiss, but they had all the bases covered and they deserve my recommendations. Really happy with the Smeg 60 cm diamond cooktop. Terrible – Do not buy this. You cannot use more than two elements at a time. the diamond shape is nonsense. I bought from the cowboys at Winning Appliances - never ever again. The gas comes on. It has been designed by someone who doesn't cook.
