Constructive feedback 6 burner stainless steel Dolce Stil Novo – Looks great until you use it. Unfortunately the titanium trivets discolour and look disgusting. Spoils the entire aesthetics of this pricey appliance. Have contacted Smeg to get manufacturer do something about the finished look of material used for the trivets. Not yet resolved. First issue was when 1 element would not work, replaced. Have got a Black Glass one now which camouflages the discoloured trivets. The technical team have been great to resolve issues. Another bit of feedback would be to put smaller elements to the rear so larger pans/pots fit without being close to the wall, needs reconfigurations. To many parts to clean...got better things to do. Due to cut out size in benchtop, cannot be replaced with different brand cooktop. Want the stainless steel look, what was originally purchased. Still waiting. Has been too long. Delays due to covid supply issues should surely be better now. Hope this issue gets the right attention this time. Please!!

Update on Cracked Smeg cooktop result as I am considering purchasing this appliance – Any update by Lesley from Smeg regarding after sales service is appreciated to persuade me to reconsider purchasing such a fragile product that in our instance shall be utilised everyday. Any specification on the glass type used.
Not worth the money – A very cool looking black ceramic glass cook top that looked amazing for a very modern kitchen . Paid a lot of money to get this cook top. It was never used as it is in the display kitchen . After dinner at home realized there was a crack on the surface. A guest may have knocked a dinner plate as there was nothing else close to the cook top. It was badly cracked. Called SMEG guys as was very surprised that a simple touch would have caused a damage . Imagine using a pot , even a slight knock that could do much more damage . They said as it was caused by " something" dropped on its surface it was not expected to bear such trauma. Its very surprisng SMEG would use a material for a cook top that would be so flimsy. Very disapointed to have chosen this. True one should not go for superficial beauty. Its a useless product and should be taken off market or should come with a warning about its fragility.

Schott Ceran manufactures ceramic glass for a multitude of appliance manufacturers for use in their induction, ceramic and gas cooktops. The Schott Ceran glass is 4 mm thick and undergoes stringent quality and durability tests.
