Rubbish.... Don't buy this I have had 4, yes 4.... Fail every time. The principal is great as I live next to the bush but I have no idea why they continue to stop and not work. I doubt if I'll hear from the Australian distributor again Show details

When it works it's great, on my third unit which has now failed after 4 months of operation. The Aussie sales team are no longer replying to emails so assume they are done and dusted and we won't get any money back from a failed product that doesn't last more then a few months. Show details
Poor reliability – Great unit when it worked. Had 4 replacemenr units under warranty since May 2021. 1st unit lasted9 months when one of the 3 drives failed. VArious problem occurred with the last replacement in Junr 2024 lasted 1 day and would not start on day 2. Thr USA company closed in mid 2024 so I believe it is no longer on the market. Show details
On my 3rd Unit under warrenty – I’m on my third unit, the other 2 failed within a year. I’m keen to know how its going for those that received the lastest model in Jan 24? Any question about future performance or refunds are deflected. If this one fails within 12 months i’ll be seeking a refund. When it works, its great, love it but so far the fail rate is far too high for Australian customers. Show details
Great for 12 months only – I have now had 3 Solarbreeze pool skimmers. I purchased 2 for $800 each & one was replaced under warranty. The third one stopped working a few weeks after warranty expired & I can’t contact the seller by email or phone. These are great units when they work but should last a lot longer for the price. Great idea, but does not last – Worked great until which time it broke down after one year. Another replacement later and the plastic around the unit started to break down and warp to the point where the front propeller refused to rotate. It ok could be better – Mortar and gear box are cheep, went else where on next one. First one lasted 2 years, the next one only 9 months. Like that it cleaned the top, but again they could have made a better product Show details
When it worked it was great – I have had it for just over a year. It worked great! Then one day it stopped working and I could hear the gears were stripped. Called and since it was over a year the warranty wasn't valid. And they don't have replacement parts! But they will sell me their new unit for an additional $400+. And wat happens when this one breaks??? Great product idea....they just need to have a reliable unit that will last and back it. Show details
Brilliant! Can't understand the negative reviews – Firstly people need to understand what this cleaner is for. It is a SURFACE CLEANER. In other words, it cleans all those horrible things that accumulate on the surface of your pool - leaves, seed pods, small twigs, dead insects etc. It is NOT a bottom cleaner. a team. I use my Maytronics Robot Cleaner for the overall bottom and walls cleaning. I use the Solar-Breeze to keep the top clean and to reduce the stuff that fall to the bottom. I find the Solar-Breeze essential after a windy day. It is truly amazing. Within about 45 minutes of me putting it into my pool the top is clear, all the leaves and junk gone. It is TOTALLY automatic. On off switch could not be simpler. Self charges by solar power. Cleaning is a matter of sliding out the tray, tipping it into my Green Bin and hosing it off then sliding it back in. I remove it from the pool (very easy) when I put my Maytronics Robotic Cleaner in so that it doesn't just get pushed around by the Robot Cleaner surface cable (not a real problem just stops it cleaning the surface properly). I must admit I am totally puzzled as to the number of negative reviews this item has got. I read these types of reviews 5 years ago before I bought it and they almost caused me not to purchase one. I am SO GLAD I ignored those reviews because this item has been brilliant! I have had this cleaner, direct from the USA for about 5 years and have not had a single problem with it, nothing at all. I think it is brilliant and if it "died" tomorrow I would immediately order a new one! As I said, it is NOT, and does not claim to be, a total, overall pool cleaner. It is for the surface and performs a necessary job that the other pool cleaners can't do. You use it in between using your other bottom and side cleaning cleaner. I find it excellent and many visitors have asked me where I got it from because when they see it in action they want one.
Made my pool enjoyable – Just bought the skimbot after having the solar breeze for four years. Sounds expensive but believe me no more scooping and I had huge amounts of debris which was nightmare. Show details
Good but won't replace your normal cleaner – Have had the NX for about 5 years. The battery is now dead and only one end of the device (rollers and paddle wheel) works but it still does an OK job when the sun is shining. Plan to replace with NX 2. floor , so it won't replace a robotic floor cleaner but may mean you can use it a little less often. The main advantage is that I run my filter at night (off peak) and in some seasons I get a lot of small leaves and flower debris on the surface during the day - Running the Solar breeze keeps the pool surface crystal clear.
Lasted 14 months. In Australia the dealer offers only one year warranty – The plastic is not uv rated as noted by many others. The gear train failed and would have been under warranty in the USA. But not in Australia. I was mailed spare parts which did take a few hours to repair. The switch has now failed. This is a great concept but the first model I have is under engineered. Lasted less than 2 weeks – Got my Solarbreeze on the 2nd of January 2020. Yesterday, the 13th of January it died. Up until that time it worked perfectly. We have a small L shaped pool and don’t generally have a large leaf problem, but we do have lots of small debris which tends to collect in one spot in the pool. I’ve had no success contacting the company. My phone calls appear to divert, possibly to the U.S, and my email enquiry has gone unanswered. If this is the best service they can offer, then I’d steer well clear. Hopefully I’ll be able to provide a positive update shortly.

The only downside to the "robot" as we call it, is the tray. It's a bit of a poor design the way it slides in and out and sometimes it falls into the pool while cleaning and dumps all the waste back into the pool. Prob happened 5 times in 2 years.
Without this "robot" I would probably concrete my pool over.
Great help for surface debris – The Solar-Breeze skims along the surface of my pool and keeps all of the surface leaves, pollen and other debris from entering my skimmer filter. It works from just after sunrise all day. I’ve had it for two years and am impressed with the support I’ve received from Solar-Breeze Australia. Lasted one swim season for $500!! Should have got 10 years – Battery failed after 1 season with warranty rejected so was replaced at my expense. I tried leaving it in the sun more to charge even when out of the pool. The result a further 12 months later was a completely ruined main body of the unit. No UV stability at all!! Absolutely bin worthy after two years when for $500 should have lasted 10 years. If I could give a zero rating I would.
And I'm not hard to please and don't usually bother writing reviews on anything, but felt the need to try and save some people from a terrible product that is sold at a premium price!

able to obtain any compensation for this mistake in their part.” So while admitting the product casing is faulty, no compensation was offered to me. I was advised that we needed a replacement battery and a new front motor and we should also replace the gear platforms. We would need to do this ourselves as the Australian technician the company was using for repairs is no longer available. All of these parts would cost me $US100 plus shipping. However, I was told the batteries were out of stock and I would be advised when they were available. That was on October 1st 2015 and since then I have heard absolutely nothing.
Poor build quality. Now just a paperweight – This was an excellent product to start with. Cleaned well & off-loaded the main pool filter system incredibly. switch has also corroded, so it wasn't made for water either!
The importer has retired & the parent company has stopped responding to emails, so my chance of having any recompense is about zero.
This was a marvellous product with great potential, let down by poor build quality. It's now a useless product. Do not buy!
Solar-Breeze Solar Pool Skimmer – This solar pool skimmer is an excellent product. As this product is solar it runs 24/7, as long as it has sunlight. It will run and charge at the same time. The only maintenance required is to empty the skimmer box. I cannot recommend this product enough. It will assist you to look after your pool.
