Value for Money
Usage

Love this stuff – I am in Melbourne, where the weather has big variations, real winters and real summers (average range from 2 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius on average) I have been using this paint for a number of years now, mostly on refurbishing unloved furniture, such as tallboys, chests of drawers, tables, and blanket boxes. All composed of timber, and… Read more

also, dark wood furniture items. This paint really makes the pieces POP, wow, bright white and shiny. It is my experience, that as with any painting, prep is the key. Surface prep is so very important, what undercoats are used is very important, and how many undercoats is very important. I am one to use a quality 3 in one, then two coats of cheaper quality undercoat, and then the Solver Trims High Gloss Enamel. So before the super white Solver Trims High Gloss Enamel goes on the surface of the item to be painted, has to be really EVEN solid flat white. in my experience, this give totally awesome results. the paint is super hardy, and very glossy. I have also done a couple of house renovations, and have used this product on the window trims, door trims, skirting boards, and even kitchen cupboards. Again, prep is the key, it does take more time to do the multiple undercoats, but the result is eye poppingly beautiful. So far, (three years for the first one, and 6 months for the second reno) they have remained totally white and look great. Also, a little good quality thinners is needed, depending on weather extremes Donna K :-)

Beautiful finish - very happy – Yes, white will yellow as anyone in the painting industry knows happens with *any* white enamel. This paint works well, very happy with the results, and I'm about to buy more. Show details

  High Gloss Enamel

Be Aware – Built a new house last year, all paint in my house is white, the painter used Trims Ultra Premium High Gloss Enamel paint.on all the doors (I have 46 doors), skirting boards, cupboards, window sills and 3 months after it was painted it went from a WA White(pure white colour) to cream yellow. It looks terrible and has aged the place immediately. … Read more

Solver paint rep came to my house and said this paint can go yellow in as little as 7 days if the place isn't exposed to daylight. I have floor to ceiling windows in my place so lack of light isn't an issue. He said he would get back to me with some answers within 2 weeks. Heard nothing, then was advised the WA regional manager [Name Removed] was dealing with it. It's been going on since February 2016 and the painter and I still haven't received any answers from Solver. This is sold as an interior paint and to say it can go yellow in 7 days when not exposed to daylight is a joke. This means you can't close curtains or blinds if you go away for a week or in summer when you need to keep the sun out. Very disappointed in lack of concern from Velspar and they are not willing to rectify this expensive problem.
