I am writing this to reminder all jb hi fi buyers about the hi-tech item from jb hi fi. I have bought a sony tv from them, the TV was unble to connect to internet if you unplug the TV unless you do factory setup. it was happened since beginning. however, I didn't realize it was manufacture defects. recently when I return the other item i purchased… Read more
from them, I thought I can just ask them if there was a problem. Then I was told the TV was faulty item when I purchased it. Now it is out of warranty, they won't be able to do repair or replacement for me. Thus, I would like to give a click to other buyer, if you have same issue, it is faulty.
Sony crap – I, got this tv couple of years ago, had the digital tuner replaced under warranty, but have had troubles since then, have to tune all channels every week or so, just tried then 12 Nov and had to do it twice , and alas it still won't hold channels, just crap, had Panasonic b4, wonderful, thought I'd try a "better" brand, complete rubbish. … Read more
Daughter bought another brand and has performed wonderfully for years and half the price.
Not sure if it was a second, refurbished model etc, but crap.bought from a reputable retailer .
Started ok but very poor when trying to connect to the internet / update apps etc – Originally required a hard data reset about 3 years in due to an error where the TV SIMPLY WOULD NOT connect to google play store with an error. After this : - will only stay connected to the internet when continuously plugged in to the power - this results in higher energy usage - sometimes will randomly loose internet connectivity - random… Read more
application crashes - requires a hard reset very often, taking 20 minutes, will not connect to the android phone at random overall I find this to be the same quality as a Kogan TV which means the bar is low indeed! strongly recommend avoiding the Sony smart TV brand
Perfect – Its sony model number Kd-65×9000E Its good brand sixty five inches we got this tv under $3000 It has all modren features and picture quality is extremely impressive .and sound is very clear and clean. We will recommen this tv to my family and friends for sure .its good value for money
Great TV - but if you look for the flaws, you will find them – This TV model is no longer available, but a lot is actually applicable to the X9000F Sony 2018 equivalent model as well. Firstly, lets get the bad out of the way. 1. The reaction time of the remote menus is really slow. 2. Its not the perfect blacks (or contrast) that you expect from OLED TVs. 3. Color banding (strips of color with different… Read more
color gradations) is visible on scenes with a large color patch like a sky,
4. Motion judder is apparent on slow moving scenes if they are not recorded in 60fps.
5. Haloing (or Blooming - where a faint halo of white color is seen over bright objects) is visible on areas of the screen when a small white area is highlighted on an overall black screen (like the SONY logo)
But in reality this TV is a great buy. At 60-70% of the cost of an OLED, this TV is at 90% of the picture quality.
After long deliberations, i decided that OLED was too expensive for me and the prices were refusing to budge. So when this Sony TV was on run out and i got a great deal @ 2500 AUD at JB hifi, for a brand new piece, i took the plunge. The first picture we saw when installed at home was a low end free to air TV broadcast and we were rather disappointed. But after spending time with the settings and further online reading and understanding the heart of this TV, it started coming together, and the flaws... they are there, but you really have to go looking for them intently.
For everything else, the colour is stunning, natural and pleasing at the same time. 4k HDR movies are simply amazing and we can spend hours just watching the beautiful scenes unfold.
For the best picture quality, you can set the picture on Cinema Pro and the ambient light sensor to On and everything else just takes care of itself, it's actually that easy.
The TV has got a very matte (low gloss) screen and this is another major bonus.
I am glad we went for the 65". We sit 10 feet (3m) away from this TV and the size is perfect. Especially for 4k and HDR, it feels so real, the screen actually disappears and because things are life-size and high resolution, you can be misled to think that you are looking at a real life presentation through a very large window (with a extremely sharp macro lens :-)).
For 4K, go big - 65" is perfect at 3m.
Being a videophile to a large extent, i know that this TV is not the prefect or the best out there. But at some point, if you dont go looking for flaws, you will definitely not see them and there is nothing obviously wrong with this TV. It's a great buy and i am extremely happy with the purchase. Now go and look for the 2018 model at a discount and buy it. Its the best price to performance you can get in the market right now.
Faulty and poor service – I bought my the previous model of this TV which was faulty, panels were blurred. As annoying as it was having to sort out the fault, Sony kindly swapped for the new model as there were no old ones left. I was happy with the service at this stage. Upon receiving the new model i noticed the TV running quite slow at times, lagging remote, turning… Read more
itself off somehow so i decided to report the TV being faulty again. This time they just wanted to fix it under warranty. My issue is that i bought a faulty TV - paid top dollar for it to be faulty twice. I asked for my money back, another replacement or a discount as the brand new TV i bought was faulty and Sony didn't care and dragged the process out for months unable to give me an answer and asking me to prove the fault - which i was able to. The customer service was atrocious and really disappointing they wouldnt work out a reasonable solution for a customer who has been stuffed around with purchasing their faulty products. When working the TV is pretty good but if you're unlucky enough to get a faulty one good luck!
Better than oled – perfect picture from the x processor all the time. speakers are better than entry model TVs with more bass but nothing to be too exited about. 4 HDMI and 1 Optical Cable, i don't think you will need any more than that. fastest Android TV i have tested. it is an excellent choice TV for everyday use. unlike the OLEDs the brightness of the Sony x900 is second to none so the TV is pleasurable to watch during Daylight Show details
Really satisfied! – Blacks are really deep, lots of adjustments to match your preference. The android software can be a bit slow, good thomg is that you can just turn off all the features or bloatware that it comes with. The remote is really basic, they could have included some keypad or a trackpad to make typing easier. Show details
Excellent TV with fantastic apps – We recently purchased this TV after some extensive research into the different brands and features available. This ended up being the best value alternative for non-OLED TVs, and so far we've been extremely happy with the picture and sound quality. The unit is easy to set up and integrates well with smart phones and laptops. Show details
Brilliant TV – Bought this TV for my parents after a fair bit of research. The quality is great, the android tv app works well and is pretty easy to navigate. Setting up to an internet connection was simple too. If you can get a good price for this TV then it is a no brainer as it challenges even OLED's in quality. Show details
Great Picture Quality – The picture quality on the X9000 is great. Colours are vibrant and blacks are very good. AndriodTV is a great feature, however it can make the TV feel slow at times. Is noticeable when changing channels or switching between Netflix and Free to air TV. Also sometimes even changing the volume can take a few seconds to display the volume bar on screen. Can be annoying at times but not a dealbreaker. Show details
Huge – Picture quality is great and i am satisfied with the speaker quality in the tv but its not out if this world amazing sound Heaps of usb and hdmi ports to connect anything you want to it and connect to netflix or stan at a touch of a button . Show details
Great Display! – Great display, picture quality is smooth and has great colour contrast. Sound quality is also better compared to our Samsung Q7 Series 7. However, having hooked up with onkyo speakers - no issues soundwise. Can't complain about the connectivity either to (wifi, Android tv, usb ports) Overall great TV for what it costs if you're not splurging on OLEDs. Show details

Amazing Television – I actually purchased the x9300e and it is the most amazing tv I have ever owned. Build quality is second to none. The picture quality is gorgeous, so smooth and full of colour. The PS4 also looks stunning when cranking out the graphics. All the ports and connections needed are at home on the rear of the tv. Show details
Smart TV with lots of smart features – Sony is my favorite brand. Have been using 32 inch since last 6 years and never had a problem. It's user-friendly, good picture quality. Screen size is perfect for my media room. It has enough HDMI and USB ports. It's android TV - with all the smart features. You can also Talk. Additional speakers would be great but not necessary at all. Very happy with Sony brand so far. Show details
