Soothing Back

This company is fraudulently advertising and communicating with customers using the name of a legitimate Australian company (claiming to be Barefoot Shoes Australia). The company claims to be based in NSW but appears to be based overseas. The company also sells many different products , not just shoes. I placed an order on 1 May and the confirmation email sent after payment was made contained incorrect information. I immediately replied to the email, but received no response. On 3 May I sent another email using the email address listed on the website. Again I received no response.

On Monday 18 May, after receiving no evidence that the order had been processed or shipped I disputed the transaction with my bank. On Tuesday 19 May the company communicated with me via Microsoft Messenger under the stolen business name “Barefoot Shoes Australia”. When I responded stating that I believed they were in fact a different company fraudulently using this name they chose not to respond. I communicated very clearly on 19 May that I wanted the order, which had not been processed or shipped, to be cancelled and my money refunded. The company did not respond until 21 May when via Messenger, they initially claimed (around 10am) that they had sent me an update (no update received) and I responded again that I wanted the order to be cancelled and a full refund made. Imagine my disgust when around 7pm they sent a Messenger notification that my order had been shipped, but were unable to provide any shipping details.

This company is extremely dishonest and has been reported for fraudulent advertising and failing to adhere to Australian Consumer Law. To ship goods more than 48 hours after a customer has requested that the order be cancelled is unacceptable.
