I recently had Southern Screen Scene install a new screen door for me, and I couldn't be more impressed! David provided a thorough and informative quote, and the sales staff in the office were friendly and extremely helpful. Neil, who installed our new screen door was punctual, efficient, and did an outstanding job. From the initial quote to the… Read more

final installation, the entire process was seamless and hassle-free. The customer service was exceptional, with clear communication. I would highly recommend Southern Screen Scene to anyone in need of screen door installation or repair.

met all my expectations – Ordered door, delivered and fitted ahead of promised time frame. Good fit, looks great and everything they said was accurate. They fitted a three point door lock which is much stronger than the old door lock. happy wife happy life.

Beaut security screen doors – Southern Screen scene installed two insect screen/security doors. They look great. The colours match our existing paint scheme. Nice gentle closing and soft latching. Quite transparent from the inside. We are very happy with the outcome.

I'VE SCREEN EVERYTHING – I can only imagine there are so many negative reviews as they represent the rare time things went wrong, as can happen in any business. How many good jobs weren't reviewed? It was worth the wait from quote to job, because these screens are exceptional quality yet a little cheaper than two other quotes. Once here, he spent half an hour on… Read more

each screen, putting frames on, adjusting, and finishing them.

My timing was lucky to be able to get the new ultra fine screen so no little midge flies get in at night, that even finer-than-standard MiniWeave lets in. Luxury I think it is called. Maybe it should be MicroWeave.

The optional horizontal bar at mid point matched the main door handle position. They even have a brush on the bottom, like eyelashes, to stop dust getting in the track. Sexy. A normal latch, plus a separate locking mechanism, plus key lock, and free kickboard below to stop you kicking the screen in. They put my Star Windows cheap screen door to shame, that has a gap and flimsy latch that is a nightmare to close. Like the movement which is so smooth, it's like on air.

Whites tarps.no good if you live in australia.very inferior – I have been advised by our products tea, that it appear that the UV has broken down in the high temperatures experienced in SA recently as I’m not sure how long you have these and how long they have been use. This was a response by whites.been up 2 days.i bought 2 weatherview screens that went under shade cloth to protect car.first each had a join… Read more

Terrible – Measured two windows incorrectly one was for a security screen window and the other was for a roller shutter. They did measure a third window correctly which was installed on the day. They had to come back 2 weeks later to finish the other two windows. The installer used our glass table to cut the security screen on. Once finished he i notices he… Read more

didn't hang the screen straight. Had to call them back a third time. With the roller shutter they hung the exterior unit too low so there is a ridiculous looking gap above the window. Horrific workmanship and service. Save yourself the hassle and don't use Southern Screen Scene.

Roller shutter / windows – Got measure and quoted for one roller shutter and two window security screens. Installer came and informed me that one window screen installed but the other window was measured incorrectly. The second window was also measured incorrectly so the roller shutter full down was only covering half the window. When the correct parts arrived the installer… Read more

used my glass table top table to hacksaw some parts on. Left metal shavings under the windows and didn't clean up. Also had my front door screen replaced which rattles because they didn't tension the screen tight enough.

Fantastic – We have gradually had the whole house done over a period of a couple years. They measured up the first time and we just told them which window/door and they came and fitted when they were ready. The price and service were outstanding with no problems. One screen ordered over the summer season took a little longer than the others but that is understandable with the busy season. Would highly recommend them.

Unbelievable – Installer arrived to install security door after 6 weeks wait. After removing the door it was found that replacement was manufactured incorrectly. Issue 1, I was advised that we would have too wait at least another week. The worker then re attached the old door with only 1 screw in each hinge. Each one has 6. When asked to put all screws back in… Read more

he took offence stating your unbelievable. Wow, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He went on with this attitude put screws in threw tools in van and left. On inspection he hasnt put metal catches back on either . Wow. Will never use again.

Owner has followed up and backed worker with conflicting story. Lucky I was on phone at the time and have back up. Order cancelled. Beware.

Terrible service and Fly nets – They made a fly net that is does not fit correctly in the area which is a reflection of poor measuring skills. As a result, flies were able to enter the room. I called a guy I believe is named Robert to come and have a look at it as it may have been installed by him and the unbelievable rudeness of this man as to tell me there's no way flies could… Read more

enter and that if there are "I would just have to live with it". When I outlined several times that I'm the one that lives here so i see what goes on so I would like it fixed he started to put sticky notes in the fly next area so that it'll better fit. If you make a screen that fits properly there's no need to put sticky notes in there. He also said he would "call me back" but no call has been received in almost 1 week . Don't waste your time

We should have had these sooner – We had always had canvas awnings on the understanding that air could circulate behind them to help with cooling, especially if you wind-out style opening windows. So when we moved into our new villa/unit we organised canvas awnings, whilst our neighbours opted for roller shutters. One of the problems with the canvas awnings is that light still… Read more ·  1

flows in (from the side) because of the distance from the wall/window. Another issue is rattling when there is a strong breeze. After 2 years we decided to bite the bullet and replace our canvas awnings with roller shutters.

We did a fair amount of research on the Internet and with neighbours and decided to go with Southern Screen Scene from Lonsdale SA. We had previously dealt with them for our security doors, and they were just as professional in their approach this time around.

We opted for remote controlled electric shutters as they provided a minimalist look inside - no switchboxes on the walls. With the remote/s we had a choice, one for each window or a couple of multi-window units, we chose the latter. One remote for the 4 front windows and another for the remainder (5). A little disappointed that the remotes were not quite the same, but day to day operation has been faultless.

Installation of the actual shutters was quick but the electrics side of the equation present the sparky with some challenges due to the construction/wiring of our place. The guides for the shutters were mounted outside the window frame rather than inside, to minimise light filtering in along the pointing. With the shutters down and curtains closed, light entry is almost imperceptible, something we just could not achieve with the canvas awnings.

Overall we are very happy with our shutters and our only regret is that we did not install them earlier!
