Bad company ethics – Company is unethicalAll Theft checks done .. nothing registered online . Bike came with charger . Story seemed to add up. . My local bike shop informed me that the that may have been stolen from Specialized Australia. Their Demo bike. Then once I returned the bike. They changed their mind and offered a 20%!discount off a new bike.
I asked CEO [Name Removed] and Manager [Name Removed] to review the above and reconsider a 20% discount off a new bike, something more in line with the promises made. At present I am feeling as though I have been taken advantage of and even thought of as a criminal for trying to make good . A situation that now benefits everyone else. . I tried to be reasonable and understanding regarding the company’s position. Initially I was led to believe a bike swap was not an issue. However after speaking to [Name Removed] I did relent somewhat and suggest halfway option, This was flatly rejected. It’s now a matter of principle for me. Being lied to by an employee representing a corporate entity for their own personal gain is disturbing and for the executive team to condone this behaviour, I find appalling. Purchased
Warning: Misleading Helmet Sizing - Unsafe Fit! – I recently purchased a mountain bike helmet that was advertised to fit head sizes from 58 cm to 62 cm. My head measures 61 cm, so I expected it to fit comfortably within the stated range. Unfortunately, even with the adjuster at its tightest setting, the helmet is much too loose and unusable. I reached out to the retailer Local Cycle Co in Sydney… Read more
and was curtly told it was a sale items, so tough luck.
It was still nearly $300 delivered.
I reached out to the manufacturer Specialized for assistance, hoping to get a smaller size or a refund. Despite explaining the issue clearly and providing all necessary details, I received no satisfactory resolution. The helmet is clearly not fit for purpose and does not match the advertised specifications.
Helmet was, of course, unworn, boxed with tags and receipts.
[Name Removed] at Specialized said he did not believe me that the advertised sizing was incorrect - strange that only the massively large sizes were reduced - read the reviews I linked below for more info.
This experience has been very disappointing, and I am left with a helmet that I cannot use safely. I would not recommend this product to others, especially if you are relying on the stated size range for a proper fit.
I would go further and say Specialized sizing on helmets cannot be trusted, and returns are sketchy at best.
Here's some other reviews that back me up;

One thing of note is that the sizing for these helmets varies quite a lot compared to the rest of the market. Where I would typically wear an XL sized helmet in brands such as Fox, TLD and 100% my Specialized Gambit is a medium, and I have the liner ratchet adjusted almost all the way in. Misses: - Make sure you try it on before buying

I normally wear an XL/2XL in Troy Lee Stage but I wear a medium Gambit. When I put on the large Gambit it bobbled around loosely on my 59cm head.

On last thing 0 anyone want to buy a brand new Specialized Gambit? Size large. You'll need a big head though!
